Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Checking In

Hiya, chaps! After two weekends without footie, I have to admit that I'm really missing my LOB family. So, I thought I'd post a check in thread at least once a week to see how everyone is coping with this odd situation.

This is my first week back after Spring Break, albeit in distance learning mode. I was up early this morning just trying to keep the email at bay. As you can imagine, the faculty that I supervise are climbing the walls with issues related to on-line instruction. Otherwise, Kate and I are doing well. We've got a well-stocked larder, the weather has been unseasonably warm for March so we've been getting in lots of long walks in the neighborhood and we're reading a lot and doing lots of cooking.

So, how are you lot? Let us all know.

Thank you for the post, Bob. It's a great idea to see how everyone is doing. We're all doing well and trying to stay as well stocked as possible and at the same time trying to practice perfect hygiene and sanitation since we are taking care of my father-in-law.Melanie and Jacquelyn are in the second week of Spring Break, followed by online college courses beginning next week. Hope everyone's staying safe and as well stocked as possible.
The main times we leave the house is to walk the dog. It's been unseasonably warm as well here with close to Summer like temperatures. Hope everyone is doing well and would love to hear from you.

Great to hear from you, David. It sounds as if you're right in line with us. Today was the beginning of our new distance learning policy of working from home. A few technical glitches for faculty on the first day but nothing that dramatic.

We're well stocked here, as Kate is a bit of a prepare, with lots of stores in the basement. We've done a lot of cooking ahead of time, too, just in case. The freezers are bulging. Kate learned a lot from Hurricane Katrina.

Things in ENY are as good as possible
Matt is working from at his place in Saratog
The rest of us are all in Glenville going nowhere except for an odd trip to the store for food.
I have been working from home thru Google Classroom and who knows if or when I will go back. Is my career actually over?

News from England, my brother Tony got some messages from the NHS saying that he is extremely vulnerable and should be quarantined at the house for 12 weeks!!! He won't be going anywhere and no one can come visit!

Sister Lisa also got an NHS letter about her being in danger so her and her son Max have moved into the Air BnB in Cambridge

Ooof, UWS. I hope Tony and Lisa are successfully quarantined away from danger. We're practicing best habits in Alexandria. We only go out to food shop for us and my in-laws, and we deliver their food to their door, ring the bell, and dash away. Good luck to the LOB mob and all of theirs.
