Spring Forward Footer
Morning, chaps! The clocks spring forward this weekend. That can only mean one thing - we're heading into the home stretch with ten matches left of the domestic league season. We start this morning with Liverpool v. Bournemouth. The Scousers have dropped a couple of clangers recently; they can't possibly drop another one to relegation-threatened Bournemouth, can they? That's followed in the 10 o'clock hour by Arsenal v. West Ham, a London derby with some real import. At the same time, we've got a slate of Championship fixtures, including my beloved Leeds hosting county cousins Huddersfield. I'm hoping for three more big points in your quest for promotion. Finally, at the end of the day, we've got Burnley v. Spurs.
I'll be around for the early one and then I have to bugger off to an Open House event on campus. Might be back in time for the late one. Join me, won't you?

Morning, chaps. We're ten minutes away from the opener this morning. Liverpool will try to stop the rot today as they take to the pitch against the Cherries.
They've just shown the run-in for Bournemouth, and it is sobering. After Liverpool today, they've got a run in April when they'll have to play Man Utd, Spurs, Leicester and Man City. Not a lot of points there.
Morning Boys
My focus today is on the Championship
A wonderful result yesterday... same again this morning please
The teams now gathering in the famous tunnel at Anfield:
Liverpool: Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Mane, Firmino, Salah.
Subs: Keita, Minamino, Lallana, Lonergan, Origi, Matip, Williams.
Bournemouth: Ramsdale, Stacey, Steve Cook, Ake, Smith, Billing, Lerma, Lewis Cook, Stanislas, Callum Wilson, Fraser.
Subs: Boruc, Gosling, Surman, Solanke, Rico, Simpson, Surridge.
Referee: Paul Tierney (Lancashire).
Morning, UWS - absolutely. I'm hoping for another big win against our county cousins Huddersfield this morning.
Good Morning, Bob and Dave. Here to join you for the action. How was your week, Chaps?
Plus starts their coverage from Ashton Gate...come on you Robins!!
The early Championship match is Bristol City vs Fulham. Bob will be hoping for a Titties win and that's not idle gossip
So.... wins by Millwall, Bristol C, Leeds and Swansea....A FULL MONTY ahead!
I'm also hoping for a draw between Bristol City and Fulham. That would be most helpful.
Leeds old boy, Matt Smith had a hat-trick yesterday , which was the icing on the cake
Off at Anfield
Morning, MUR - hope you boys have had a good week.
They're off from Anfield
A City win....they are all the way down to 8th!
14 points behind!
Thanks, Bob. Not a bad week. Can't complain
Liverpool lost to a relegation struggler last week, bit I expect a Liverpool win today. Their problems have been on the road, not at Anfield.
I expect The Seagulls, Villa, and the Canaries to go down after looking at the schedules with the Cherries and Hammers just barely surviving. You heard it here
Liverpool into their usual rhythm. I'm also watching the Championship match on the computer.
I don't know - I haven't looked at all of the run-ins but the schedule that they posted for the Cherries is mighty difficult.
All early Pool pressure and great sweeper keeping by Aaron Ramsdale.
If Fulham were to drop points today and we were to win, all we would need at Craven Cottage next week would be a point.
Oh my! Bournemouth have the ball in the net early doors!
GOAL !!!! A SHOCK LEAD FOR THE CHERRIES CALLY WILSON GIVES THE CHERRIES THE LEAD
GOAL FOR THE CHERRIES!
Of course Arlo wants controversy!
I think it will be called back for a push
VAR check on the goal for the push on Joe Gomez - it stands!
What is going on with Liverpool!?
Goal stands
The two numpties complaining about everything
Now then, how will the wounded Liverpool respond to that?
They are STILL going on about it
Just commentate on the match... the ball is in play
Didn't you think that that was a push on Gomez, Dave?
I thought that was a foul by Cally Wilson on Joe Gomez Addams. Also, That looked like the Cherries first attack of any sort this match and they score.
It was yet another Pool attack and a cross by Mane was headed away to Wee Ryan , who passed to Cally Wilson, who appeared to foul Gomez Addams. Paased to Top Billing, who passed to the Third President Lerma to Wilson for an easy tap in
Adrian with a save from a powerful header by Age
Love seeing Liverpool sucking
OH!!! Adrian tips over a close range effort from Nathan Ake off corner
Oh - almost 2-0! Ake's header is just tipped over.
I do think it was a foul
I am just fed up with VAR and especially with these guys questioning EVERYTHING!
Bournemouth look dangerous every time they break!
Bournemouth are creating chances!
Another break almost comes off
I think Liverpool's last home loss was vs Palace two years ago by a 1-2 score. I think Beneteke scored and perhaps twice. Pool host Palace soon.
Firmino with a chance... saved
Oh - Firmino was in there and pulled a great save out of Ramsdale.
OH!!!Great close range save by Ramsdale from Bobby Chompers as he failed to take a bite out of the Cherries lead
Steve Cook down injured , which is not a recipe for success.
Young Josh Simpson on for Steve Cook.
Fulham and Bristol Titties are 15 minutes in and still at 0-0. Not a lot of chances either. Suits me to a tee.
The Cherries held Chelsea to a draw and are winning at Anfield, which shows why I am picking them to stay up.I'm sticking with my prediction that 37 points are needed to stay up. A win today and the Cherries would need two wins and a draw, which they can get even with a miserable April
Starting tomorrow, all the matches will be an hour later until the end of the month
Liverpool starting to click. The Anfield crowd has been nervous but they're starting to roar again.
Wijnaldum down injured off a Pool corner off a cross with Dutch international teammate, Nathan Ake. Seems to be okay
I always hate Spring Forward and losing an hour of sleep.
Great info, Dave. That gives us time to adjust to the time change. Most years that falls during our Spring Break, but this year a week before. Seems really early for a time change
I expect the Canaries to be in decent form for the run in, but sixteen points is a tough ask in ten matches.
GOAL! Great finish by Salah after a defensive error by Bournemouth.
GOAL !!!SALAH TIES IT UP FOR POOL OFF A CHEAP GIVE AWAY BY THE CHERRIES. GREAT FINISH
Salah ties it up
Modern Day football
Dribbling out from the back... STUPIDITY
Horrible pass by Mane but Salah still finish
It just stuns me every time these defenders think they're Pele
I expect that Norwich will go down. Bournemouth, too. It'll be between Villa and Southampton, I reckon.
The defensive error came from young Josh Simpson, who has only been on the pitch for a few minutes and may not be into the rhythm of the match. Tackled by Mane just outside his box, who went on a run and it was a poor pass to Salah, who turned back then around and scored with a well placed shot.
If defenders had the great dribble and passing skills....they'd being playing up top!!
No offense
Bournemouth STILL struggling to just put their foot thru the ball to clear the box!!
Timely clearance by Simpson for a Pool corner then two more.
That goal seems to have woken up Pool and to have shaken up the Cherries.
Teams in the Championship are playing it around the box!
Using the keeper all the time!
SO DANGEROUS
2-1 Mane gives Pool the lead
Mane makes it 2-1!
GOAL !!! MANE OH MANE!!! POOL HAVE COME FROM BEHIND TO LEAD 2-1
Another bad break-down in the Bournemouth back four and Mane was off to the races for an easy pass into the corner.
Free kick chance for B City inside the D
Still 0-0 in the Championship match. Lovely jubbly.
Well, it should have been inside the D
Arlo wanting controversy again.
A poor pass in mid field broke to Van Dijck and his through ball found Mane who placed it in the corner with just Ramsdale to beat
Into the wall
Le Socks not much better than Arlo in the controversy department
This has been a decent first half. Well worth waking up early
Oh - Milner had a chance around the backpost for a volley. Should have hit it with his left peg.
Milner volleys straight to Ramsdale from close range. Should have scored.
Arlo questions anything... I HATE HIM
Not a wealth of nations for Adam Smith who collides with the advertising boarding
Both North London sides on NBC later on
Arsenal/West Ham
Burnley/Spurs
Bournemouth hit on the counter and Adrian needs to make another save. This has been far from convincing from the Liverpool defense today.
Did you ever get a chance to send that love note to NBC Sports, UWS?
Junior Stanislaus went on a solo run and his powerful long range effort at Adrian and pushed around. Then Adrian with a punch he should have caught from a cross off the corner
Coming down to the last few minutes of the first half now.
No love lost with NBC the past couple of seasons
Despite trailing , the Cherries don't look like a relegation threatened team as was the case last week vs Chelsea
For once a decent piece of info from Arlo. Pool haven't lead at the half in seven matches. The last time was Jan. 29th at the Hammers
As things stand, Pool are three wins from clinching the title . If United win tomorrow that becomes two.
A Barber Shop Quartet of stoppage time minutes
I reckon that they would prefer to win the title against Everton.
The song in the tune of a Barber Shop Quartet at Anfield will be "We're going to win the league." I will pass up listening to that
Fulham and Bristol Titties wrapping up a scoreless first half. Lovely.
Still going well for Bob at Bristol
3 added minutes at AG
Agreed, Bob.I think that match is on Monday the 16th and would need two wins and two Citeh losses for that to happen
Bournemouth have had some chances today
If it wasn't for Pele at the Back and stupid midfield pass...they wouldn't be behind!
Good save by City keeper
Pool at Goodison on Monday the 16th, vs Palace on the 21st then at the Etihad on April the 5th
Fulham pressuring.... knock it off
Pool have come from 2-1 behind to lead the Cherries, who have put forth a good first half performance and it's an actual contest
HT at Anfield
Free kick chance for the hosts in the West Country
Beat the wall please
Johnny Wilkinson effort.... last kick of the half
So far so good
Swansea vs WBA on Plus at 10
I'll have that on as well as SS
Not sure if I'll be here for the late one
Bob, you won't be here of the 10 o'clockers?
Want updates on Leeds?
Arlo still on about the foul
We are off for the second half
Back for the second half at Anfield
they are back in the Championship.
Don't care what Bob wants...I want a Bristol City win!
A win in the West Yorkshire Derby would be great for Leeds and Bob.
oooh, deflected shot well saved by Fulham keeper
Numpty Bob wants a draw!
I agree. Surely a Bristol City win is better than a draw
We need sort out Dr Bob!
I just checked. Plus showing Leeds in the Welsh Capital a week from tomorrow then in huge promotion six pointer vs the Cottagers a week from Wednesday. Both on Plus
Terrible decision by Bournemouth man
Had a break on.... decides to whack the ball into the shins of the defender
Pool's last Prem home loss was vs Palace and their next home match is vs Palace.
I think that was Wee Ryan , who has been out of form this season
I'll be home for the midweek match because of the time change...hope I won't miss it for tutoring
Good save by City keeper...knock it off Fulham
That would be great for us to be around for that big match. I think Bob has Spring Break that week.
I was expecting City to have defend for a spell during the match. If they can hold off the Cottagers then that should see them through the match
Corner To B City...come on... score!
What a great clearance from Milner!!
OH!!!!! I thought that was Desmond. Wee Ryan chipped the on rushing Adrian , but a hustling Milner cleared off the line
A spell of pressure off the corner and Ake heads on a cross that received Top Billing , but was cleared away in the nick of time.
Adrian has been very shaky out there!
He's going to be goal for the Atletico Madrid match
Are Liverpool in trouble?
Stacey fouls Milner for a Pool free kick.
Ramsdale punches away the free kick as he was under pressure.
I really don't get Klop's attitude to the FA Cup. He's NEVER reached the Quarter Finals!
This season... why rest his players for the Cup ties?
The league is wrapped up... why not go full out to tie United's Treble?
I'm back from a refreshing shower to follow the last half hour of these matches. Happy to see that Bristol Titties and Fulham are still goalless. That would be a great result for us. If only Mitrovic could pick up a knock in this one.
That's a hard question to answer as I expect AM to sit back and defend with Adrian not having much to do, but with him in goal Liverpool advancing is not a guarantee.
David and I are going to come over there and sort you out....YOU WANT A BRISTOL CITY WIN!!!
welcome back, Bob. No missed goals while in the shower. That would be nice if Mitrovic did
I second that , Dave
Not a Wealth of Nations for Adam Smith as a Pool pass comes off him for a corner
The corner from TAA is headed straight Ramsdale by Van Dijck.
Good strong header from Virgil but no one was following in.
Dick Van Dyke with a decent header from a Three First Names corner...I need that combo for a goal for my fantasy team
Former Pool player , Solanke , on for Junior Stanislaus. He's been a flop for the Cherries.
The Cherries have a free kick. Taken by Wee Ryan and headed on as Milner tackles Solanke for a Cherries corner, but not as offside is given
Definitely we want a Bristol C. win over a Fulham win but I think that a draw is the best result for us. A win would just draw Bristol C. back into the promotion race.
They'd be double digits behind you still!
GOAL!!
BRISTOL CITY TAKE THE LEAD!!
Now certainly we do want a Swansea win later on against the Baggies.
The Titties take the lead! I'll take it. It puts Fulham five points behind us again.
Oh - Mane off the woodwork for Liverpool!
Dave is correct. It's virtually impossible to make up a double digit deficit with only nine matches remaining. Leeds just needs to continue winning matches
Beat Hudders today.....you would be 14 points ahead of City AND EIGHT ahead of Fulham!
OH! A nice curler from Mane is off the bar. Cherries still in this match
Of course, WBA don't really matter except for winning the league!
The more teams in the top six drop points, the better for us.
Pool just quarter of an hour plus stoppage time away from the most consecutive home wins in English top flight history. The two Daves are not pleased.
I definitely want a Cherries equalizer then
I can imagine - that's quite a record.
Ramsdale turns around a near post effort from Salah.
Ramsdale with a kick save from Milner off a pass from Salah
Bristol City have the lead but are wide open for a break....a Dahlgren/Goldstein type hack down for a free kick
That City goal was scored by Nahki Wells , who is on loan from Burnley and was on loan at QPR the first half of the Season. He scored that controversial goal in the 1-0 win vs Leeds at Loftus Road earlier this season
The final roll of the dice from Eddie Howe and like for like as Dan Gosling is on for Thomas Jefferson Lerma
LOL, Dave. I was guilty of a few of those hacks. The few is per match
Don't know what you're talking about - I was a clean defender, I was.
Great save by City keeper from a glancing header
Bristol City currently in 6th place, pending later results.
A Cherries player down with no substitutions remaining
Like for like as Lallana is on for the Ox.
Arlo and Co will be rooting for Citeh in the Manc Derby
City play three games before Liverpool play
They could be Champs before they play again
City to lose vs United, Arsenal and Burnley
America's finest, Tim Ream, off now. Knockaert on for him.
That Cherries injury is not Top Billing for Eddie Howe as that would leave the Cherries with ten men the rest of the match
Bournemouth down to ten men with man hurt... will he be able to continue?
Tim Ream finer than Pulisic ???? LOL!
Fulham ties it up... Bob's fault!!
Le Socks wants a penalty for practically anything, even sneezing.
Fulham tie it up through Cairney - I still think that's the best result for us.
Christian who?
Arlo and Le Sox still going on about it!
SHUT UP
That goal due to a poor back pass from Bob.Leeds now only a Barber Shop Quartet of points ahead of the Cottagers, making the local derby a must win match
I disagree. That reduces your lead over the Cottagers. City too far behind for it to matter.
We definitely don't want a Fulham winner, that's for sure.
4 added minutes at Anfield
The out of tune Arlo mentions a Barber Shop Quartet of stoppage time minutes
Cally Wilson offside as he was about to take a close range shot after being put through by Nathan Ake off the corner
If we win today, we'll be seven points up on Fulham. We could just about rule them out with a draw at Craven Cottage next week. I don't want any other side challenging us.
Well..you're putting the jinx on City...all on you mate!
Cherries could have equalized....offside called
There were about 5 players offside but possibly not the one that received the ball
Oh - big miss from Firmino!
Bobby Chompers with too much bite in the shot as it lands in Row H on a Pool break
Cally Wilson booked for a foul on Milner. The first booking of the match
The Titties make a sub late on just to spoil UWS' morning coffee.
first yellow of the day....just keep the cards in your pocket ref!
grrrr...subbing
Struth...thought Fulham were going to score the winner there...blocked
A really late stoppage time substitution to irk UWS as Origi is on for Bobby Chompers
Four added minutes at the Gate
Fulham have scored late late goals as of late...please not again
Free kick chance for the Cottagers
Pool have been far from Convincing , but will be an LOB blogging trio of matches away from their first title in thirty years
Bristol City need to kick the ball out!!
Liverpool win.....bore
It's over at Anfield. and Pool defeat the Cherries 2-1 despite being below their best. The Cherries remain third from bottom.
Bob, you're leaving soon?
Need Leeds updates or not?
Struth....keeper almost blew it there
Phew
Liverpool nine points from the title....unless the league is cancelled because of CV
Deep into stoppage time now - knock it off, boys!
Ends all even at AG
A decent result but NOT great
Leeds win could extend the lead to 8 points
