Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Dele Alli - What a Numpty!

News out of Blighty today that Spurs bad boy Dele Alli has received a one-match ban for posting a Snapchat mocking COVID-19. In response, Dele has blamed the friend who passed the Snapchat on to authorities for his "betrayal." What an idiot!

He's a real numpty indeed and should be banned for quite a while, not one match. His behavior is absolutely disgraceful . Delle Sandwich will be unavailable a week from Friday vs United then is available Tuesday the 23rd vs the Hammers.

I don't know what you do about a guy like Dele Alli. He's pretty self important, and apparently not very bright. He's one that in the old days would "offered" a club appointed minder so that his impulses would be harder to act upon.

It doesn't help him that such a large contingent of the London sports press is filled with the ranks of Spursy fan-boys whose bedroom walls were blanketed with Gazza and Lineker posters, who now have fixated on Alli because he's never out of the tabs for long. But with the noxious L'l Joe as boss, he's more likely to redirect attention to himself than to help stalled-adult Alli get a grip. We'll see.

I don't know why clubs allow these kids to have social media platforms - they're so thick they're bound to get into trouble.

Absolutely. The first thing a manager needs to introduce to his squad is, Nigel from tech, who will be in charge of your FB, Twitter, Instagram, and Snap-chat accounts, as well as any other that a duffer like me doesn't know about.

Second thing is to make it a condition of contract that no player make any social media post during their tenure as an employee.

These conditions would simply be an update of the old stay out of the tabs clause that made getting your picture taken hiding behind the bins at some nightclub/hookah bar, or pranging your Lambo at 4am a breach of contract.
