A Final Sunday Doubleheader Before the World Cup

Fulham vs Man United Live Streaming: Fulham vs Manchester United in Premier League at 10 PM - Follow LIVEI

It's the final two matches of the world Cup, starting with the Seagulls vs Villa , which is currently 1-1 early in the second half and concluding with the Cottagers vs United. The big news from the Cottage is that Mitrovic is out injured with a broken foot, presumably for tripping over M&m's toys. Join me for all the action before a week of inactivity

Blogger manunitedrules said...

Fiorst a cross from Matty Cash was headed off the post by Buendia then the Seagulls caught faffing about at the back then Danny Ings dummied a player and scored with a deflected shot past Robert Sanchez

Villa move up to twelfth , five points clear of the drop zone. The Seagulls remain seventh, point behind Pool. Good news for the two Daves, but bad news for Bob

Buendia now down for Villa

Burnley heads into the break top, three points ahead of the evil Blades with Blackburn third , a p[air of points behind the Evil Blades. Maximum points for Yours Truly on the Championship picks.

If Villa holds on to win then I could do the PPP updates at the conclusion of the match, but I will wait until the late match concludes

Morning, David - thanks for helping out setting up the thread this morning. Much appreciated. We're up to our necks in cereal and poop here at the Cottage. LOL!

10:23 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Glad to help, Bob. I remember those days well. Mitrovic out with a broken foot for a few days. Did he trip over any of the poop or cereal?

10:33 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Leon of the Old Bailey on for Buendia

10:35 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Long range shot from Leo Trossard well held by Emi Martinez. Now the big Argie keeper down, time wasting.

10:42 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Lamptey on for Estupid Yan.

10:42 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

The Emory Board too make a triple substitution , which will be his final rolls of the dice

10:43 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

A Pair of Seagulls bookings. Chris Gross and Seagulls gaffer, Robbie De Zerbi

10:44 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Augustinsson Digned on in November, Cammy Archer for Danny Ings and Dendoncker for Doug Louis.

10:45 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Booby Kamara booked for a high boot on Leo Trossard. That's five Villa players in the book.

10:46 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Ruben Colwill, on loan from Chelsea ,is wide with a free header off a great cross from Alexis McAllister. Should have tied it up.

10:50 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Eight is more than enough as the announcer just stated that this will be the expected amount of stoppage time minutes.

10:51 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Solly March goes on a solo run in November as he's tackled for a corner. We enter the eight stoppage time minutes.

10:52 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Not sure why Lewis Dunk and Emi Martinez are butting heads. I think it's time wasting.

10:59 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Now John McGinn booked for impeding a throw and that does it as Villa win 1-2 at the AMEX. Good news for the two Daves and bad news for Bob as Villa are all the way up to twelfth place

Just in time for United walking into the Dahlgren living room

Nice one , Dave. I guess M&M settled that dispute.

11:31 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

They're off rom Bob and Kate's .

COME ON MAN UNITED!

11:31 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I was thinking the other day

The World Cup normally has a camp before hand but these first two games will be nothing different than any other International break. A week together and then a match followed by another!

Also, if players make it all the way to the Final...that will be only 7 games in 5 weeks....that's not a lot really

11:31 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

We are off
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U

11:31 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

I'm here fresh from a shower to enjoy this one. Come on, United!

11:32 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I wish United would start games like they played most of the second half vs Villa on Thursday

11:32 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Already, United have not started on the front foot

11:33 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Come on United.... know the kick off was at 4:30...not 5:30

11:35 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Struth...DeGea had to make a kick save and a beaut off a deflection

11:35 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Bob said Group A is going to be bright orange. Isn't everything dull when LVG is in charge? Hard to believe it's his third spell in charge of the Dutch National team.

11:35 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Noice save by Spain's SIXTH choice keeper from Vinicous

11:36 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Agreed, Dave. A wild second half vs Villa on Thursday

11:36 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

What do you guys think of my thoughts on the WC?

11:37 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

That's a fair point, David but I just think that the Dutch will have too much quality for what is the poorest group in the tournament - Qatar, Senegal and Ecuador.

11:37 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

It's nippy here today. Did it get colder in ENY and WNY? It's supposed to be in the 20s tonight here. Highs in thew upper 40s and low 50s this week. Same for you all?

11:37 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

It is changing a bit colder now but it has been beautiful as of late

11:38 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

SHOOT THE BALL!!!!!

11:39 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

You make a good point, Dave. This is the first WC where I'm not really excited and its has that feel. In terms of games, I think they're playing seven matches in 28 days instead of the normal 32. Is that correct?

11:39 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Why didn't Rashford or Martial shoot the ball!

11:40 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Dave sounds similar to the weather here. Even thoughnwe're only eight and a half hours from Orlando I think we're closer in weather to you all because of the elevation

11:40 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Awful at the back for United....almost gifted a goal

11:40 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

I agree, Bob. The purpose of the joke was to take a dig at LVG, which I will do at any given opportunity

11:41 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Not sure how many days...I heard a guy say 5 weeks. You think it is 4?

11:41 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I guess it is 4

11:41 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

7 games in a month isn't that much either...that is only for the final four teams

11:42 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Talking about Group A , the announcer said Mane went off injured for Bayern yesterday. Is he fit for the WC? That would be a huge loss for Senegal if not

11:42 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

LVG should put be put out to pasture....wish he went before his stint at OT

11:42 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

The first match is next Sunday, our wedding Anniversary and the final is December 18th, the day after my birthday. Not a ton of matches for that time period

11:43 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Garnacho needs to come on asap...he takes on players

11:43 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

United get a corner and go short....grrrrr

11:44 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Agreed, Dave. I'm guessing he's getting a third stint due to politics. I think Ten Hag would be a better choice.

11:44 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

WAY HAY! ERIKSEN GIVES UNITED THE LEAD . HIS FIRST UNITED GOAL

11:45 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

YES!!!!

ERICKSEN SLIDES IN AT THE BACK POST!!!

Looks like he almost missed it to me

First United goal....about bloody time!!

11:45 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

We don't want ETH to leave OT yet!

11:46 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Wahay! Great team goal for United - excellent gut busting from Erickson. I can't believe that guy had a heart attack a year ago. Blimey!

11:46 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Eriksen started it so he finished it. Tackled Tom Cairney in midfield . It broke to Rash, who passed to Bruno and his deflected pass was diverted in at the far post by Eriksen

11:46 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Foul throw.....useless

11:47 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Thank you Bamber Gasgoigne!

11:47 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Agreed Dave. United's gain is the Dutch National team's loss.

11:47 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

United need go out and win this match 3-0!

Why not go for the jugular

11:48 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

United still fifth, but now three points and a massive goal difference behind fourth placed Spuds

11:48 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Talking about Garnacho, he was in the Argie's preliminary WC squad, but didn't make the final cut. I figured that he's one WC away from being in the national squad

11:50 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Didn't realize until just now that Bamber had the same last name at Paul!!

Not sure if the spelling is the same but..

11:50 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Fulham had a chance there...why didn't he shoot instead of crossing NOT to a teammate?

11:50 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I hope it comes back to bite the Argies

11:51 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Rashford....has to score....he was off but head it in!
Sadly, I agreed with Dixon!

11:51 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

In terms of the PPP only a couple of minor changes. Ederson no long golden Glove Boy. It's a tie between Pope and Ramsdale ,who somehow will be sitting the bench behind butterfingers Pickford, who is Gareth's pick, not mine

11:52 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

If United hold on for the win, they will be in 5th. 3 points behind Spurs with a Leeds home game in hand.
Sadly, there is a 10 goal difference

United would be four points ahead of Pool

11:53 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

The only other changes were the Evil Lions replacing QPR in the playoffs and the Evil Blades and Blackburn swapping second and third place.

11:53 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

I didn't expect Garnacho to make the squad due to his inexperience and lack of playing time.. They have a lot of depth and I think they're a dark horse.

11:54 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

What a lovely winner for Toney yesterday....lovely jubbley

11:54 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Come on United...get another one!!

11:55 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Former United player , Perreira, down for the Cottagers

11:55 AM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Totally agree with you about the WC, Dave - it's really unfair on the players and fans.

11:56 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Nice block by De Gea from Harry Wilson off a pass from Perreira then the offside flag is raised

11:57 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Hard to believe Ivan Toney didn't make the WC. Some baffling decisions by Gareth. Top English striker based on current form

11:58 AM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

De Gea fists away a long range rocket from Harry Wilson

11:58 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Bob, I am saying it isn't that bad for them. The turnaround is like a normal qualifying round and then the games won't be that many for them. Three games and then a big break OR some more games just like midweek and weekend games

11:59 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

So, I think you disagree with me Dr Bob

11:59 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Grrr...Martial almost in

Pete Dreary says United have two friendlies in Spain in December. What's the point? Practically their entire starting lineup will be in Qatar. Will he be playing the Academy side?

12:03 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

United keep giving the ball away in bad places...our own worse enemy

12:03 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Fulham bench is going nutso for some reason

12:04 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Wonder how many of the United squad aren't going to the WC

DeGea, Malcia, McTom, Martial, Garnacho, Elanga.....any others of note?

12:04 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Tom King , the Salford City keeper, failed to become their first player to be in a WC squad. On standby as Evil Blades reserve keeper, Adam Davies, was chosen as third choice keeper ahead of him.

12:06 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Willian hits a volley high and wide....long may it continue

12:06 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

United need to stop giving the ball away in their own half!
If you're not good enough...go long

12:07 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

United are not going forward fast enough

12:08 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

They need to get Elanga off and put Garnacho on...he attacks his defender

12:09 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Malacia somehow made the Dutch WC squad according to Wikipedia. I was surprised. Lindleof , Dubravka, and VDB won't be going to the WC. I guess those players will be on friendly duty in Spain. Some of the youngsters sitting the bench will likely get playing time too.

12:10 PM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Maybe I do - the players usually have several weeks to prepare and couple of friendly matches to try out tactics. Instead, they're playing Fulham this week and then bloody Iran next Monday. And what kind of fans are going to want to travel to Qatar in the middle of a season? It's a shambles.

12:10 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Just over from a Martial header...bury it!!

12:11 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

I agree. He's been on too Elanga a time for our liking. Garnacho would liven things up

12:11 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I totally agree with you about the fans but I think sometimes teams over prepare for WCs with their camp and friendlies.

These first two matches are just like qualifiers...have to be ready to play

12:12 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Punmeister....ouch

12:12 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

I agree about the players , but I think plenty of supporters may travel not just because they get to watch the WC in person, but also to escape the cold weather and enjoy pleasant weather over there. It is definitely a shambles.

12:12 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

LOL, Dave! If you were a Citeh fan those would sting.

12:13 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Rashford has to make a decision sooner!!

Takes too long

12:13 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Malacia is going too...take him off the friendly team sheet

12:14 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

So, these two say a SA winner...hasn't been on in 20 years

12:14 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Agreed, Dave. Malacia will realize that LVG isn't friendly if he hasn't already

Oh - nearly a second. Decent save.

12:36 PM

Agreed, Dave and it's been Elanga time since he put one away as well

I think I am right in this....what significance does a reverse fixture between these two teams have in the history of the Premier League

12:37 PM

Yeah, no surprise that Robin Koch didn't make the German squad. Too many Koch-ups this season.

12:49 PM

Sorry, Bob. Wikipedia lists Dan James as a Cottager. The only Leeds players going are Tyler Adams, Aaronson , and Kristensen unless I forgot any

12:50 PM
Blogger The Blue Devil said...

Bloody typical - couldn't score for toffee for us.

12:51 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

The Pompey player going is Joe Morrell for Wales and yes I think they have to play without him. I think the rule is that three or more players have to be away on duty not to play

12:51 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

I know how you feel. We had the same problem with Dan James

12:51 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Dave, Both Dons and Swindon will have the same problem . Charlton will too if their keeper makes the Ghana WC squad. It's a tad unfair

12:53 PM

Already Garnacho has done more attacking than Martial and Elanga did for the whole game

1:03 PM
Blogger manunitedrules said...

Agreed, Dave. I would like to see Garnacho starting regularly. If he's good enough, he's old enough

If the Aussies make the WC Final then four of them will be on SPL clubs playing three days later. Your thoughts?

It could have been a headache from the McTomain poisoning

I think Lee Dixon was being sarcastic about Spain winning the WC when he mentioned that they must have good midfield players that out beat Thiago to make the squad. I think Luis Enrique went Gareth on us.

I second that with the Aussies! They will need it . Seven SPL players, four from the Championship, seven from the A league, and two from the J league. Will good luck be enough for them?

Josh Onomah on for Tom Cairney

Blogger manunitedrules said...

I agree, Dave. Some of them come from SPL teams that didn't even qualify for Europe.
