A Weekend of Derby Matches
Morning, everyone! It's a really big weekend in the Premier League where it appears that all of the big sides are playing each other, leaving the relegation strugglers to also play each other. It all starts with the Manchester Derby in a few minutes and ends with the North London Derby tomorrow afternoon. In between there are loads of matches featuring my beloved Leeds United's main rivals, such as Everton v. Southampton. I've got my fingers crossed for some score draws then.
Join me for all the action today, won't you?

Good Mornin, Bob. Thanks for getting us started . Up on a chilly morning and about to brew some coffee.
They're off from OT!
COME ON MAN UNITED!
Morning, David - I'm just getting going her with the twins' morning routine. Hoping that your United can fare a bit better than mine did yesterday.
The teams on display this morning:
Manchester United: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Shaw, Malacia, Eriksen, Casemiro, Fred, Fernandes, Martial, Rashford.
Subs: Heaton, Lindelof, Maguire, Martinez, McTominay, Mainoo, Antony, Elanga, Garnacho.
Manchester City: Ederson, Walker, Akanji, Ake, Cancelo, Rodrigo, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Mahrez, Foden, Haaland.
Subs: Ortega Moreno, Phillips, Gundogan, Grealish, Laporte, Alvarez, Gomez, Palmer, Lewis.
Thanks, Bob. Up on the first measurable snow of the season. Have fun, mate
How much did you get? Enough to shovel?
LOL, mate! I think about a quarter of an inch. Not even enough to rake.
There are pictures on FB and I think you will agree once you see the pictures.
Malacia down off a collision with Kyle Walker. Looks like he will be okay to continue
I'll take a look.
OH! Off the line by Akanji off a Rash shot after Ederson was Rash about rushing out of his area and being caught out on a United break
Oh - Rashford had a chance there with Ederson going walkabout. Took the wrong option in my view.
Cheers,mate
Agreed, he had far too narrow an angle to score. Ederson and Citeh got away with one there
Oh - Rash was in again but he showed a bit too much of the ball to Ederson.
Rash through again, but Ederson did better this time and rushed out to gather
Looks like you got just enough snow to make it interesting for Trooper on your walkies later on. Really pretty.
There's Only One Man United! One Man united and Man Scum Shituh are a bunch of Effin Wankuhs
Cheers, mate! He'll like it better than Yours Truly!
Eriksen seems to be directing everything in midfield - good start from United.
Rash down for United. That would be a tough loss for United.
Agreed, Bob. A bit off a cagey derby, but United have gone toe to toe with Citeh this half
Rash up and about. Looks like he will be able to continue.
The twins are especially excited about this match.
A minute of stoppage time.
That's great. The twins must like derbies!
OH! Long range shot from Kyle Walker just wide. The closest Citeh have come to scoring and it's 0-0 at the half
Half-time - United can feel
The second half is underway as Marc Antony has been karate chopped on by Cleopatra
I measured at halftime and it's between a quarter and a half inch depending upon where I measure. The deer were out playing in the snow
Citeh lead the league in possession at 66%, but not in the standings
Antony has joined proceedings and I'm off to change some nappies.
Have fun, mate. Now you know what it's like being Pep, LOL!
Jack Grealish on for Phil Foden as Pep is none too pleased
LOL! I certainly do. Still 0-0 at the hour mark. More changes on the way, I suppose.
BUGGER! JACK GREALISH GIVES CITEH THE LEAD
Sorry, mate - Jack Grealish comes off the bench to put Citeh into the lead. Good team goal.
Come on, United - get it back.
I had been worried that United had been sitting back too much and they paid the price . A lengthy Cityeh possession culminated in Mahrez finding KDB and his cross was met with a free header at the far post by Jack Grealish from a couple of yards out.
Thanks, mate and welcome back. United needs try and get something out of this match, but Citeh know how to sit on a lead
I'm going to do another snow post on FB today that includes deer playing in the snow
Eriksen booked for a push on the back of Jack Grealish
The twins are enjoying some oatmeal with banana now. Yum yum!
OBI Wan with a long range shot blocked for a United corner
That's like bagels for us, mate. They should be delighted.
Wolves vs Hammers and Toffees vs Saints are some key matches for you at 10 AM. Wondering what you want out of those matches?
Erik Ten Hog not happy with Eriksen and replaces him with Garnacho.
WAY HAY! BRUNO TIES IT UP ! BUGGER IT'S DISALLOWED FOR OFFSIDE. A shame. Nice break
What's going on? The ref is consulting the linesman.
GOAL! IT'S TIED UP
Yes! Bruno has equalized! But it's been waved offside. VAR is going to check it.
Rashford was the player offside but he wasn't interfering. It should stand.
And it does! 1-1!
The cheering you hear is from Alexandria. It'll get even louder if United score again.
It started at the back for Un iced. Obi Wan passed to Casemiro and his superb through ball found Rash, but Bruno called him off and scored from the D past the stranded Ederson, but I give it an A plus
I thought I heard screaming. Well I'm much closer to Alex than when I was in Texas
WAY HAY! RASH GIVES UNITED A COME FROM BEHIND 2-1 LEAD. TWO GOALS IN A MATTER OF MINUTES
There it is! The whizkid Garnacho provides and Rash finishes with aplomb!
2-1!
Dave has just texted to say that he was in the loo for that goal. The Nocito Curse lives on!
The free kick comes to nothing. Haaland hasn't really had a sniff today.
My keyboard went dead and is charging, so I will be limited on comments. Will walk Trooper after the match.
Three replacements coming now - Maguire, McTom and Martinez.
Triple change by Ten Hog. Maguire for Rash. McTomain for Casemiro and Lizzy Martinez for Malacia
Sorry to hear that, mate. Enjoy your walkies and celebrate this win, eh?
I'll be around for the Everton v. Soton match, which has major implications for Leeds.
I'll be around. Wonder what results you want?
It's over and United win 2-1.
That's it - what a great win for United!
LOL! Of course I'll want a draw in that one as well as in the West Ham v. Wolves match.
The big drama around Goodison this morning is that the board has been instructed to stay away from the ground today due to "credible threats" made against them. That's crazy.
Agreed. Really crazy. If the matches aren't drawn then Wolves and Saints wins would be the next best results.
A surprise in the Championship ad Rotherham have thrashed third place Blackburn 4-0.
A draw would also be useful in the West Ham v. Wolves match and the Leicester v. Bournemouth match.
You're absolutely right, mate. Leicester, Soton and Wolves wins would be better.
In the Championship, Luton up to third place as they goo two up vs Carlos's Baggies. Evil Blades take the lead vs the Potters
Foxes and Forest are level on points. I would taker a draw in that one, but agree with your assessment of the other two matches.
Cambridge vs Morecambe and Wise postponed due to wind damage to the roof of the main stand at the Abbey.
Salford takes the lead vs Sutton United. Salford fourth , but half a dozen points outside the automatic promotion spots
Not a Big Club takes the lead at Wycombe and are now four points ahead of the third placed Tractor Boys. You will not be pleased
Rams now in fourth place as they have come from behind to lead 1-2 at Cheltenham
Bolton up to fifth place as they take the lead vs Pompey
Canaries score two quick goals to go two up at Deepdale
Apparently Harvey Barnes has just missed a sitter for Leicester. You're right that a draw is the best result in that match. But if not a draw, I'd prefer to see Forest lose as I see them as more realistic relegation candidates.
I fancy Norwich to go again, probably alongside Burnley and Sheffield Utd. You?
As it stands, Forest have leapfrogged us into 14th and we've slipped one position to 15th. We're merely one point removed from Bournemouth in 18th. Yikes!
Halfway through the first half and everything's going swimmingly so far in these matches.
The guy working the Guardian blog says that he's feeling at loose ends with no goals at all in the Premier League.
I definitely say Burnley and the Evil Blades for automatic promotion. Third placed Luton a dozen points from automatic promotion, so the top two basically promoted. In terms of the playoff winners it's to close to call. The Canaries are down in ninth place. I would guess either the red hot Teesiders since Michael Carrick took over or the Hornets to emerge from the playoffs.
There have been these types of first halves and then goals flowing in the second half. The Prem is usually a second half league
The referee in the Swindon v. Grimsby match, Sam Purkiss, has been stretchered off after being hit by the ball at the County Ground in Swindon. That’s a bit worrying; some reports suggest he was out cold.
That does seem to be the case - I hope it won't be today.
The Canaries are now 3-0 up - plenty of goals in the Championship today.
Canaries three up at Deepdale against their former boss. Reading Railroad take the lead vs QPR. Bristol City leads Brum 2-1 Terriers take the lead at the KBC, but are third from bottom, a point behind Bob's beloved Cardiff.
The Evil Blades are continuing their great run with a 2-0 lead over Stoke.
That's horrible I feel for the ref at the county Ground
Cambridge vs Morecambe and Wise postponed today due to wind damage of the main stand at the Abbey
Your replay opponents being held 0-0 by last placed Wigan. Let's hope they're just as poor during the replay at ER
GOAL! ONANA GIVES THE TOFFEES THE L;AD. HIS FIRST FOR THE TOFFEES
Bugger! Onana heads home from a corner to put Everton into the lead as the half starts to wind down.
YIKES! Toffees up to fourteenth place, leeds down to sixteenth. Poor marking off the corner from Demari Gray as he was allowed a free header. sorry, Bob
Everton will also leapfrog us now into 15th and push us down to 16th. Not good.
Moor poor marking from Saints on set pieces as Onana had another free header, but Bazunu saved, fumbled the it was hoofed away
OH! Just wide by Iwobi. Saints giving up. Nathan Jones will need to rattle some teapots at the half.
Forest in 15th place with Toffees 14th. One goal makes a huge difference
Reading Railroad two up vs QPR , Baggies pull it back to 2-1 in Bedfordshire
An LOB blogging duet of stoppage time minutes at Goodison Park
Oh - JWP nearly equalized on the stroke of half-time! Great save by Pickers!
OH! Great save by Pickford from JWP. Pushed on to the post then cleared for a corner
That's half-time - I'm off for a shower.
Toffees one up at the half and thankfully not by more.
Nick Powell pulls one back for the Potters at Bramall Lane to pull it back to 2-1
Lovely - I'm out of the shower and see that JWP has equalized early in the second half.
Elsewhere, though, both Wolves and Forest are leading matters. Not good. We're at least back up to 15th and there is still one point between us and Bournemouth in 18th.
Welcome back, mate. Hard to believe Forest is up to thirteenth place. Nosebleed territory for them? Leeds move up a place of Forest can score two more without reply
Solly March at the double in January as he puts then Seagulls two up vs Pool.
GOAL ! JWP AT THE DOUBLE AS HE BENDS IT LIKE BECKHAM TO GIVE THE SAINTS A COME FROM BEHIND 1-2 LEAD AT GOODISON
Saints still bottom. They , Toffees , nd Hammers all a pair pop points behind Leeds. Now alkali you need is for the Bees to dine in on the Cherries.
Wellie done as the Seagulls go three up vs Pool.
Brenna Johnson at the double as Forest goes two up vs the Foxes.Leeds and Foxes level in all categories, but Foxes ahead by virtue of headed to head with a 2-0 win vs Leeds earlier this season
Just jumping on at the end of a busy Saturday to comment that the results didn't really go Leeds' way entirely today. We needed a load of scoreless draws and got none of those. Instead, Forest, Wolves and Southampton have all won. Still, that also means that Leicester, West Ham and Everton all lost. Add to that Brentford just finishing up a 2-0 win over Bournemouth, and we've ended up still in 14th with several sides below us having played a game more and with much worse GD. So, we haven't lost much ground.
