The Rubber Meets the Road
Morning, chaps! With only four matches left in this domestic season, we're nearing the business end of the matter, with crucial matches for both top and bottom clubs. We start with a bang this morning with my beloved Leeds United, now graced by the presence of Fat Sam Allardyce taking on the Manchester City juggernaut at the Etihad. It could get grim for the boys in white pretty quickly. Pray for us!
At the same time, Bournemouth take on hapless Chelsea, Wolves host Villa, and Spursy Spurs tackle Palace. Later on, Liverpool try to mount a late bid for the Champions League against Brentford in the tea time fixture.
Join me to suffer through another woeful Leeds outing, won't you?

Good Morning, Bob. Here to join you. Will you be around for the matches? Bloody national anthem playing.
Besides the appointment of Fat Sam the big news is that for the first time this season Meslier is dropped. Joel Robles playing ion place of him. Remember him when Roberto was in charge of Wigan and when he was Timmy's backup at the Toffees also when Roberto was in charge
Off from the Etihad
Morning, David!
Only other really meaningful match today is the late one.
COME ON YOU BEES!
I’m still on the phone as my laptop is still wonky. Planning on getting a new one after the semester ends
This one is going to be a minute to minute effort. Even a respectable defeat would be progress.
Good Morning. Thanks Bob. Yes I have. Did trivia Wednesday evening, channeling my inner Bob. Thursday and yesterday went to an art festival in two different town squares. Jacquelyn finished her semester this week.
How was your week?
I feel your pain. Not the lappy, but being in the mountains. Out Internet goes in an out.
Huge save there by Robles!!
Busy but productive week here. We’re two weeks away from the end of the semester.
Peter Dreary mentioned his biggest day as a keeper was also vs Citeh. It was the 2013 Final. Remember that? I would be surprised if anyone forgot that
BUGGER! GUNDY GIVES CITEH THE LEAD! Sorry, mate.
Grrr! City cut us open and we’re 1-0 down.
I thought Joe Robles should have done better at the near post. Looked like Meslier there
We’re all over the shop now.
We could easily be 3or 4-0 down by this point. So much for keeping it tight.
2-0 down. (Sigh)...
BUGGER! GUNDY AT THGE DOUBLE . SORRY, BOB.
Mahrez with both assists.
Better in the last five minutes.
Agreed. I guess, as Steve Warnock stated, Fat sam is good at organizing defenses. May be vital in the last three matches
Monday is huge for you, mate.
Gnonto just isn’t holding the ball up enough.
Is Robbie Keane Fat Sam's assistant?
Haaland is having an off day so far. Thank goodness for that.
Yes, he’s brought Keano in as his #2.
What a waste of a free kick!
Gnonto into the book. He’s been rubbish today.
Half-time: well 2-0 is respectable but in truth it could be 4 or 5-0.
We’re back on for the second half. Hopefully we can keep the score down.
Back from a second walks with Trooper. As I stated on FB, Giving Citeh a tougher time than the Cherries, so that's progress.
Other sides have had a tougher time vs Citeh at the Etihad
Similar pattern to the first half with us keeping it tight.
Welcome back. I think this is progress. The main thing now is to take some confidence into the remaining matches. We’ll probably need four points.
Fat Sam going to his bench now with Rodrigo and Greenwood about to come on.
Roca and Gnonto off. That makes sense.
City are starting to take the foot off the gas now as they’re looking ahead to Real Madrid.
Oh - off the post from Haaland!
I think either four or five points. If Leeds stays up with 34 then that ties the great escape Baggies of 2005 with the lowest total to survive
It's a tough ask, mate. the best chance is at the Hammers and vs the Spuds because hopefully they won't have anything to play for by then. They will need every bit of commitment they're showing today to stand even a chance.
Monday will be massive. We will know what is needed by the end of the day Monday or at least haver a better idea
Rodders into the book for a late one on KDB.
Leeds supporters having a great day out, bless em.
I agree with you. Monday is the last chance for some of these teams to pick up wins.
ALL three of your rivals in action on Monday. I still maintain Forest vs Saints is the big one. You need a favor from Saints. despite not picking up results the Saints have played much better since Ruben Selles took over.
Aaronson and Struijk being prepared now. Fresh legs.
Yeah - a Saints win would be very helpful.
Hard to believe not a solitary goal in the second half in the Prem.
BUGGER! Penalty due to an illegal Struijch on Foden. Gundogan to take for his first ever career hat-trick.
OH! Off the post. No first ever hat-trick for Gundogan
WAY HAY! RODRIGO PULLS ONE BACK FOR LEEDS. GAME ON!
Now then! Game on!!!
A stat you will like. Citeh have conceded 32% of their goals ion the final fifteen minutes. That Leeds the league. COME ON DESMOND!
Rodrigo’s fourteenth goal of the season.
Arsenal fans just switched on.
Even if Leeds lose , they're sending a message to Forest, Foxes, and Toffees that they're still fighting
Four minutes of stoppage time to come.
A Barber Shop Quartet of stoppage time minutes. Bob singing in that genre why so few minutes
Exactly so David.
McKennie with a silly yellow there.
Rodri for Gundogan. A stoppage time sub because Pep wants to ruin Bob's day
2-1 in the end. More than respectable. It gives us a chance.
It finishes 2-1. Sorry about the result, but surely you must be proud of that Leeds fighting spirit which must fill you with hope for the final few matches
Will you be around for the late match?
