Best of luck tonight Robert. Let's hope they don't end up like Nott'm Forest. They were beaten by Accrington Stanley last night.

I am here to follow the footer. Shame the rest are hard at work!!!
I am listening to Five Live. They are going to have the Liverpool game. I wonder if it is going to be blacked out?
I am also ready to follow Watford West Ham that is just about to start on FSC.

Blogger United We Stand said...

Just heard that Bates wrote a scathinig attack on Chelsea in tonight's programme.
No Gerrard for Liverpool. No Bellamy. What is Benitez up to? The new Tinker Man?

Blogger United We Stand said...

I guess I am alone again.
I am going to start taking it possible.

Classic, Sunderland are already down to ten men at Bury

2:59 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I meant taking it personally not possibly.
sorry about that

I'm here, Dave. I just got in from a bout of tutoring and am following all the matches.

Fifteen minutes gone in the West Ham match. Banjo Boy is providing most of the invention for West Ham, while Marlon Harewood is wasting the chances. He was nearly straight through a moment ago but stumbled over the ball. 0-0.

The Liverpool-Haifa fixture is still on a knife's edge - 0-0. Haifa only need one in off the bum to put mighty Pool out of this year's Champions' League. Half an hour gone in that one.

3:15 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I was opening the pool when that happened. Thomas made sure he showed me. He thought it was hilarious.
Still 0-0 with Chester. Is the Gaffer in danger at Elland Road?

3:16 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I was following Five Live and just as Crouch headed toward goal it cut off. I wonder if he scored?

3:16 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Thanks for the well wishes, Dave. We're still at 0-0 with the mighty Chester. What division are they in? I'll have to check it.

3:16 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Watford are real rubbish. I am curious about the Yank Jay Demerit, but otherwise I'd be happy to see them go down.

3:17 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

They are in the League 2. They just played Accrington Stanley last week. Tough oppositions for your lot

3:18 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

I'm happy to see that Spurs are beating the Blades. They're rubbish and Neil Warnock needs a kick up the jacksy.

3:18 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Yeah, yeah. At this point Dave I'll take the one-nil against lower opposition. We need to walk first, eh?

3:19 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Oh dear, Watford nearly scored there. Against the post from Marlon King. What are the Hammers playing at?

3:19 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Off the post. Good counter attack by Watford

3:20 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Still 0-0 Liverpool-Haifa according to Football 365.

3:20 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

doesn't look like crouch scored

3:21 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Trevor Brooking Musing should have a look at the Premiership table right now. West ham are on top, probably for the only moment of this year's season. Sorry, Trev, but you know it's true.

3:21 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Have you changed your mind about your predictions for the top and bottom Premiership spots since the season started Dave? I haven't. I still fancy Liverpool to win the Prem and Fulham, Watford and Sheffield Utd to go down.

3:23 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Yeah, I am a little annoyed. They will knock off my beloved.
WHY DIDN'T WEST HAM SHOOT!!!!!!!!

3:23 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I am more confident of Man Utd.
Have you changed your mind on them?
I know you're going to say it was Fulham but because it was Fulham we scored four in the first 19 minutes!!!

3:24 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Come on, Dave. Fulham are rubbish and you know it. Zat Knight has got to be the worst central defender to ever play in the Prem - worse than Titus Bramble or Pascal Cygan or even that Alain Boumsong joker for Newcastle.

And apparently Chris Coleman has stated that Steed Malbranque - their best play IMHO - will never play for the club again. They're tragic.

You lot will be in and amongst it, but I still fancy you to come just outside the top spots.

3:27 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Are you watching Fox Football Fone-in tonight at 8 pm?

3:28 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Liverpool-Haifa still 0-0 and close to half time now.

Spurs have added a second against the Blades. Yoo hoo!

3:29 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

We're still at 0-0 with Chester. I'm glad to see that we're all over them - 10 shots on goal to nil - but honestly....

3:33 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I know it was Fulham! Look what we did with them

3:34 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Where are Leeds' goals coming from this season?

3:37 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Good question, mate. We haven't scored for the past three matches. The only players who have scored to date are our two forwards - David Healey (from a penalty on the first day against Norwich) and Geoff Horsfield against QPR.

3:39 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Your lot scored two at QPR.

3:40 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Dangerous free kick here for Watford....

Straight into the wall.

But Watford have probably edged it so far.

3:40 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

You're right now that I think about it, but I don't remember who scored the first. Matthew Kilgallon maybe? I think it was a header from a corner.

3:41 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Never even heard of him... I don't like.... Who does?

3:42 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Ipswich are losing again!!!

3:47 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Rats, Milan were only one nil up from the first leg. They just went one up.

3:49 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Liverpool look safe. Crouch just scored

3:54 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Actually, if Leeds ever got up into the Prem, I could see him going to a bigger club and maybe getting into the England frame. He's a good solid center back.

Shame about Milan.

3:54 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Crouchie's just scored! Good old Crouchie. It's a shame he isn't doing the Robot anymore. I loved that!

3:55 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Crouchie just keeps on scoring these days. He is an ungainly so and so, but you'd have to keep playing him while he's on form.

4:02 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Hello, earth to Kevin Blackwell. Time to stick David Healey on, eh? Come on, we must beat these mugs.

4:06 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

YESSS!!!! Goal by Eirik Bakke - good old Eirik. A loyal servant. That should do us, lads. Keep it going now.

4:07 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Are you in the pool, Davey boy?

4:08 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I am here. Thomas was on the computer for a minute.
Liverpool have been pegged back.
Congrats to your lot

4:09 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Dear oh dear, Haifa are back in it. One more goal would put it into extra time.

Yeah, we're all over Chester now - and rightly so. For goodness sake...

4:11 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

There should be a picture of a Watford player next to the phrase "Route One" in the Footie Dictionary. Everything for them is a corner or free kick lumped into the box. It's certainly not pretty.

4:12 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I agree

4:13 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I missed the goal at Vicarage Road.
Just saw it again. Nice pop. Just like I score

4:14 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

And Watford have taken the lead! You're ManYoo lads are still top. Lovely strike from Marlon King.

4:14 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

United are back on top!!!

4:14 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

What were the Watford fans chanting there? It sounded like "Dad's Army!" but who's the Dad? Elton John?

4:15 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

They are off the top.

4:15 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

United back to second place! Zamora scores for the Hammers. It's his third of the season - top scorer!

4:15 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Blimey, the Hammers are sticking Ready Ted on! How friggin' old is that guy now? 38? 39?

4:16 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

He is 41. They mentioned it on the highlights show on Sunday night

4:19 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Looks like Pool are basically just hanging on for dear life.

4:19 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

He is the oldest outfield player in Prem history

4:20 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

41!! That's incredible. Can you imagine playing in the Prem at our age? I'd be puffed after five minutes.

It reminds that they've raised to age limit for Army recruits to 42 recently. Another job I won't be doing anytime soon.

4:21 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Anton Ferdinand's nearly put through his own net. Honestly, do Rio and Anton share the same ganga stash?

4:21 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

End to end stuff

4:22 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

You'll be pleased to hear that Cardiff are 2-0 down at home to Barnet

4:22 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Bowyer has been pretty good for the Hammers so far.

4:24 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Yeah, he was there best player on Saturday and has been good again today. I reckon he's coming back into form, which is good to see. I'd like to see the same for Alan Smith, if Ferg gives him a game.

4:28 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Looks like Smiffy will be up front this year

4:28 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Still dominating the mighty Chester City?

4:30 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Liverpool are nearly through now. 90th minute. They finally brought Bellamy on a moment ago. Very negative starting the match with only Crouchie up front, as you said earlier.

4:30 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Yeah, none of your sarkiness either, mate. We should have had a second through Seb Carole a moment ago.

4:31 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Me, sarkie? Never

4:32 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Liverpool are through 3-2 on aggregate.

4:33 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Late scare for Liverpool. A Haifa player went into the box and stumbles over. The ref blows his whistle but only to card the guy for diving.
Game over. Liverpool are through.

4:34 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

The Beeb says that not only is Teddy an old fart but his is making his 700th league appearence

4:35 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Brum just scored in the last ten minutes at home to Shewsbury

4:39 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Incredible! 700 appearances. Good stuff from West Ham there, but unfortunately the chance came to the useless Carlton Cole.

4:39 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

QPR two nil up and then pegged back to 2-2 and then up again 3-2

4:40 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

And we're through to the Carling Cup Second Round - way hay!

4:43 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

And Sunderland have been beaten 2-0 by lowly Bury. How embarrassing. How long can Niall Quinn last?

4:45 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Congrats. At least you can't be drawn against United in the next round. We(the holders) don't enter until the third round.
Good second half today. Chelsea Boro tomorrow.
See you then?

Good chatting with you, Dave. Honestly, there is no other blog around that has the quality of footie chat that we have here. I'm quite proud of what we've achieved here.

I'll be in Gville tomorrow, so I'll be taping the Chelski game to watch later. Enjoy it.
