Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Alan Pardew

The second managerial casualty of the season.
Is it deserved? Should he have been given more time after last season's success?
Replacement? Curbishley? The dreaded Swede?
Your thoughts

1. That your Pardew post is not as funny as mine.

2. It's a good thing for W. Ham. They can now get back to forging a fighting unit that has the backbone we saw last season. There are teams that are streets worse than the Hammers, but few with as little morale as they seem to have.

Before Maschereno moved to Upton Park, I quite fancied him from his play in Germany this past summer. I can't believe that he's really that crap that he couldn't fill an important role at W.Ham, but if they've no use for him, that Arsenal should move in quick and snaffle him up. And Tevez, who'd be surprised if Lord Furg gets his man in January.

3. Teddy Sheringham will shortly be too old to even be considered a managerial candidate.

4. Dean Ashton cannot get better quick enough.

Your posting was not up when I did mine. Feel free to delete mine and keep yours!!!!
Curbishley? Sven? Dowie? Venables?

No, let you linger in your shame.

Curbs would be the most likely from this list. Not Sven, surely. Venables would be crazy to take it. W.Ham would be crazy to give the reins to Dowie.

What's Davor Suker doing these days? Maybe Davor with Nigel Winterburn and Marco Boogers. There's a nightmare trio.

Remember, the club is run by Iceland business men. They may want to bring in a scandanavian!!!

He'd be better than Sven

I reckon the best bet is El Tel. Certainly a better option than Sven, Curbs or Ian Dowie. Can't they do better than that, though? Honestly, they're still a Premiership side. Where's Sir Trev when you need him?

I sent Gatorbob, Gooner71 and Sir Trev an email with an interesting poll going on at soccernet.com.
Take a look.

Yeah, that's where I got the shortlist. I still reckon that El Tel's the best choice, but it looks as if Sven's got the inside track.

It's definitely not Sven that the Hammers need.

Big Ron! Where's he at?

Big Ron's probably still perched on the side of his bed ranting on about what Sven got wrong in Germany this summer.

Curbs is going to be the man.
Not a huge club but bigger than Charlton.
Let's just hope he does do his magic on Sunday afternoon.
I will be in the Big Apple for the weekend with wife. I will miss everything but I know we are going to have a great time. First time away from the kids in about 10 years!!!

Curbs installed as West Ham manager today. Congrats Johnno, this should make a quick difference in my opinion. Up and up from here.
