Come on You Hammers!
Since Dave is off on his dirty weekend with the missus, it's an ideal time for ManYoo to drop some points. So, come on you Hammers - get it done for Curbs!
Here are the sides for today's crucial match:
West Ham: Green, Spector, Ferdinand, Collins, Konchesky, Bowyer, Reo-Coker, Mullins, Etherington, Harewood, Zamora.
Subs: Carroll, McCartney, Sheringham, Benayoun, Tevez.
Man Utd: Van der Sar, Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Heinze, Ronaldo, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Rooney, Saha.
Subs: Kuszczak, Park, Solskjaer, O'Shea, Silvestre.
46 Comments:
Chelski have beaten Everton narrowly courtesy of an own goal from Timmy Howard, and goals from Lamps and a winner from Drogba. Shame.
Spurs are currently two up on Citeh.
Here's how Football365 describes the Drogba winner: "Chelsea have surely won this game now and it is another contender for goal of the season. Drogba receives the ball on his chest, turns and lashes a shot from 35 yards over the despairing Howard and into the back of the net. A sensational strike."
I'll be dialing that one up on You Tube.

Good quick start from ManYoo with Ronaldo and Roon involved. It's interesting that both Argies have been dropped by Curbs in his first match in charge. He's going with a distinctly English looking line-up.
You can also see that the Hammers are up for this one, spurred on by the new boss. Go on, you Hammers!
A lovely move ends with a half-chance snapshot from Roon, hit over the bar.
I'm constantly astonished by the quality of pitches in the Premiership these days. Back in the 70s, Upton Park would've been a total bog by this point in the season. Today's it looks like a billiards table.
Oh, Etherington spurns a free header right in front of goal from a cross from Banjo Boy. Shame that that didn't come to Harewood or Zamora.
Fifteen minutes gone and it's still even steven. You can tell that Curbs has stressed keeping it tight. But they've also had chances to take the lead.
Harewood blasts one over the bar - that would've been a lovely goal.
Hey Trev...good to hear from you. I'm gonna keep on blogging in case others join in. I can't claim that my LUFC mojo has been working this season, but I'm all about the Hammers today. Good luck to you lot.
Good to see Jonathan Spector getting a run in the West Ham side. I still see him playing a big role in the U.S. side at some point.
Joey Barton has pulled a goal back for Citeh - it's 2-1.
Heinze picks up a yellow for a wild swing of the elbow.
West Ham haven't scored in nearly six hours of footie at this point. They're due a goal.
Bobby Zamora wastes a one on one chance with Vander Saar, who saves well. Shouldn't have been given the chance.
Rooney nearly nodded in a freakish goal with loads of English on it. could've gone anywhere there.
Ferdinand fouls Ferdinand there - good stuff.
Ronaldo's tearing up the two fullbacks. He tortured Konchesky for the first fifteen minutes and now he's switched sides, much to the chagrin of WHU's ginger right back.
Good low snapshot by Saha well saved by Rob Green.
Half time: 0-0 A fair scoreline so far.
Curbs is rolling the dice with Ready Ted and Benayoun on for the second half replacing the top two.
One point isn't really good enough for Sir Alex, but he hasn't made his move yet. A draw would shorten the gap to three points again. It would definitely be two points dropped rather than one gained for United.
Sir Alex makes his move now and its the Baby Faced Assassin coming on. Can Ole make the difference? Hope not.
Rob Green's had an odd day. He's made some splendid reaction saves, particularly from Ronaldo, but he's also dropped the ball several times.
GOAL! And Curbishley's men have a sensational goal from Reo-Coker to lead the league leaders. Wow!
Fifteen minutes for West Ham to hang on. Can they do it. Hope so. Ronaldo is bombing up the pitch, but the Hammers are trying to bottle it up.
The goal was all about Ready Ted's canny sense of running. What a good substitution from Curbs. He's noticeably left the two Argies on the bench in favor of some hard-battling English guys.
Hang on to that TV, Trev. This is going to be a tight ending. Come on you Hammers!
This is a textbook example of why sacking a manager makes sense. People have been whining all week about how unfair it was to dump Pardew. However, the same side that rolled over to Bolton last weekend is now one up on the Premiership toppers. What a turnaround.
Ten minutes on the clock. Sir Alex is chomping on the gum even harder.
Rooney's doing his nut over a supposed foul on the edge of the box. Get up, you jug-eared twat!
Eight minutes left - this is edge of the seat stuff. Still, United haven't really tested the WHU goal since the goal went in.
Lots of pressure from ManYoo, but to what end. And now O'Shea's coming on for Carrick. Not really an attractive move, but United don't have that many attacking options left. Park? Silvestre? It's pretty slim up top. This again is the problem with sending Van Nistelrooy off to pasture.
Davey-boy, Davey-boy....can you hear us on the blog. Can....you....hear....us...on....the blog!
Five minutes left - this is a spectacular surrender by ManYoo.
Now Park's on for Heinze. Is that what United need? Don't think so.
Less than two minutes left. Oh, Van der Saar is lucky with a mistimed clearance! It doesn't look like United have an answer here, much like in the recent match with Chelski.
Nigel Reo-Coker will run this into the corner flag for a few moments. I seem to remember Trev complaining about this tactic recently, but I'm sure he won't complain today, right Sir Trev?
Four minutes of extra time to be played. Corner to West Ham.
Nail biting stuff. McCartney gives away a needless free kick to Ronaldo. Big free kick here.
And Banjo Boy heads it over. He's been the wars today.
Van der Saar is coming up for the corner. He's stayed up for another coming over. And now he's got to race back to save a goal. Amazing scenes here at Upton Park! Only a few seconds left.
Free kick to United....and a yellow for Anton Ferdinand.
Free kick coming....Ronaldo over the ball...it looks like he'll have a go....Van der Saar is in the area....and straight into the wall. This has got to be the last action.
Throw in for WHU - it's got to be over soon. And there's the whistle.
West Ham 1 ManYoo 0
What a brilliant game. Sorry you weren't here to share it with us, Davey. But I'm sure the weekend in NYC was worth it, right?
Good Morning fellas.
SCREW ALL OF YOU, ESPECIALLY YOU JOHNNO!!!!!
Didn't know any scores until I got home. Feel even worse when I found out how Chelski did. Two crackers from Lampard and Drogba. Bastards!!!! Why couldn't Frankie do that this past summer. BASTARD!!!
Great weekend in NYC. Even a flat tire on the Palisides Parkway on the way home didn't ruin it.
THE BLOODY SCORES DID
Happy anniversary, mate!
