ManYoo have already claimed a late - and apparently rather lucky - win at Anfield, so that's certainly the Premiership title in the bag. I'm absolutely shocked that they've done so well. I really thought they'd miss the services of Ruud van Horseyface, but a run of luck with no major injuries has helped them run away with it.
First up on FSC this morning is the Tyne-Tees match-up between Boro and Newcastle. Nice one. Also the first chance to check out Oguchi Onyewu's form for the Magpies. I don't rate him but maybe he'll prove me wrong. He can't be worse than the other plodders they've had playing center back.
And yes, I should mention that Leeds are at home to Sheffield Wednesday today. My heart says that we've still got a mathematical chance and are only five points from safety, but my head says that I'll be blogging the Coca Cola Division One next season. (sigh)
Good old Naaarich have scored against Barnsley. Lovely.
It looks as if Paul Scholes was sent off in the 86th minute for violent conduct after taking a swing at Xabi Alonso. Naughty boy.
Bugger! As if on cue, Wednesday have taken the lead.
Southend are behind too. Not a good day for the relegation battlers.
And now Wolves have taken the lead against Luton! That's four of the bottom six all losing at home already!
Watford have taken the lead against Charlton, so that unfortunately means that our fair Hammers are bottom of the Premiership before their clash with Spurs tomorrow morning.
The goals are flying in in the Premiership now:
Watford are two up against Charlton.
Wigan are leading Citeh.
And there have been two goals in a minute at Craven Cottage - it's 1-1 there.
Of course, as is FSC tradition, it's goalless in the big match.
Hull have gone behind now, so all we need is a goal from the Tractor Boys against QPR and all six bottom dwellers will be a goal to the deficit.
Bloody hell - after taking the game to Wednesday, Leeds are now 2-0 down at home coming up on the half.
Fortunately for us, every other side at the bottom save Luton - who are 2-1 up on Wolves - are losing, so amazingly we haven't lost any ground. Still....we're going down almost certainly.
Second half starting....come on you Whites!
No goals yet between Arsenal and Reading at the Emirates. This is a golden opportunity for the Arse to grab third position with Pool going down to United.
Way hay! The Wednesday has just picked up a silly red card and is off! This could get interesting.
Arsenal have taken the lead through a penalty by Gilberto Silva.
Oh no! That sending off has spurred Wednesday on and we're now 3-0 down. WTF!
Sheffield United have taken the lead through Rob Hulse and are now almost certainly safe. Looking worse and worse for the bottom three clubs as Wigan and the Blades are both leading.
Barnsley, Hull and QPR still all losing, but the Shrimpers have pulled a goal back. They're now on 32 points.
If this result stands, it might just be the one that gets Wisey the sack. We're 3-0 down at home to a local rival. How much more of this can the home support stand. I suspect Wisey and Gus Poyet will need some help getting out of the carpark tonight. They must go now with us not having a chance to save ourselves from the drop. Bring in someone new and get the side right for a run at winning the First Division championship next season, I say.
QPR have suffered another goal and Luton have been pegged back by Wolves. Better news.
The Beast has made it two nil to the Arse against Reading.
Luton have thrown it away against Wolves - they're 3-2 down in a real ding-dong of a match. Wish I were watching that one. This Tynes-Tees match-up is a right bore.
Full-time - miserable match on FSC and miserable result for Leeds. Hope your Saturday mornings were better than mine.
I am here with half an hour gone at Fratton Park.
I was at a friend's house that has Setanta.
A real smash and grab for United. Not deserved but I don't care.
Bugger, Chelski just scored.
Anyway, Rooney got hurt with a nasty tackle from Jamie C.
Scholes took a swing and miss but deserved to go off.
What a time to get a winner.
A wonder strike from Drogba - the commentators are right - he's on a real hot streak. 29 goals this season - crikey!
Afternoon Bob
I stayed for the second match at my friend's house.
I could have watched The Arse and Reading but the guy is a Newcastle so I had to sit through no score bore draw
Horrible score for your lot but still it didn't really hurt that much
Heya Dave. Yeah same old same old from LUFC. Time for Wise to go, eh?
I never thought he should come in the first place.
Skipper for Leeds Kevin Nichols wants to leave the club and return to Luton, HUH?
I agree - you'll remember that I was voicing the "Anyone But Wise" sentiment in the days before his appointment was announced. Unfortunately, he'll likely be the next in line for a big severance pay out. I think we're still paying Kevin Blackwell, El Tel and even bloody David O'Leary!
Hey, the Hatters aren't out of it either. He'd be better making a move to Derby.
What's with the cowbells in the Fratton Park crowd. I keep thinking that the cat's gotten into the Christmas ornaments!
They never stop singing down there on the south coast.
Singing I understand but what's with the infernal bells?!
Probably a bell from the HMS Victory
come on andy, get a goal
Andy Cole, Andy Cole, Andy Andy Cole
He gets the ball ands scores a goal
Andy Andy Cole
ooh
Pompey are completely toothless up front. How on earth are they in the position they're in with Kanu and Lua Lua up as their main strike pair.
What a save from Cch.
BUGGER
another save from Cech.
COME ON POMPEY
Bugger
Chelski just scored number 2
No way they come back into this.
And as I say that - Chelski has scored again. Told you. Kalou!
Pompey deserve to be level not two behind
Perhaps but Chelski should have had another couple at least. There was one in the first half where Sheva should have squared in and he hit the side netting and one in the second where Robben should have squared to a wide open Sheva for a tap in and he hit the post. It's a fair result, you have to admit.
Of course, Chelsea have always had the upper hand but they weren't looking that comfortable for a while.
What a miss from SWP!!
HE HAS NEVER SCORED FOR CHELSEA IN THE PREM???
Game over.
Sorry I wasn't around for most of the morning.
CL on Tuesday and Wednesday on ESPN2
Liverpool Barca on Tuesday
United Lille on Wed.
I will be around on Wed but not Tuesday
TTFN
I'll be the opposite. Free on Tuesday but I'm doing a colloquium speech at 4 on Wednesday. Best of luck to all the English sides!
