Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Cricket World Cup Update

The Super Eights stage ended on Friday and, sadly, England bowed out, albeit with a thrilling last ball win over the hosts West Indies, who were also eliminated. "Who's still in this," you ask? I'm here to enlighten you. The semi-finals will be held Tuesday and Wednesday this week:

Tuesday - Sri Lanka vs. NZ
Wednesday - Australia vs. S. Africa

This will be followed by the final match next Saturday, which will likely be an all-antipodean affair. Anyone else out there following this stuff?

I am rooting for New Zealand.
They have never won it before so they get my vote.

Glad to give the OED a workout, Sir Trev.

Good win for your lot today, Dave, even if it will be on a knife's edge next week in Milan.

Sorry I wasn't around to watch the festivities today. I'll be glued to the Liverpool-Chelski match tomorrow. Hope you'll join me then.

A shock victory for the Lankans today - the Aussies will be pissing themselves laughing tonight. Should be an easy win tomorrow and on Saturday. In the end, England was involved in the two most exciting matches in the tourney got nothing out of it, while the Oz have murdered everyone in sight. They're just too good.
