Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Footie Trivia Question of the Week

Right lads, so it's Champions League time again starting tomorrow, so here's a relevant brain teaser to get your heads back into Europe:

"Which club was the first to win the Champions League without having won the domestic championship or the Champions League title the previous year?

Good luck, lads!

I don't know if they were the first but my beloved MANCHESTER UNITED were runners-up to The Arse in "98 but were European Champions(as well as Prem and FA Cup) in 1999.

Was there a team in the Five years before that? I would say no

Absolutely right, mate! Now, is there a moral to this tale? I'll leave you to mull that one over.

I am looking at your question and you did say Champions League.
Of course, Nottingham Forest won the league in 1978 and won the European Cup in 1979. They did not win the First Division in 1979 but were in the European Cup as holders and won it!!!
