Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Steve Bruce to Join Wigan

Steve Bruce will leave Birmingham to join Wigan today or tomorrow. The phrase "out of the frying pan and into the fire" comes to mind. Is he mad?

Your thoughts, gents?

I agree that it is a step down to go from Birmingham to Wigan but he was in a stranger position of not knowing his future with new owners. He may drop a league but I think he is going to have job security

Interesting point, Dave. I hadn't realized that he was dealing with new ownership with Birmingham. I reckon that they would have stayed up with him at the helm. With a new manager and new ownership - who knows? But Wigan will no doubt go down, Brucey or no Brucey. They just don't have the quality to stay up.

It's the money that Wigan are flashing about to get him. A very mediocre record, mind. If they would splash some out for a decent holding midfielder or commanding center back, that would be better money spent.

This looks a bit desperate and quite a bit mad on Wigan's part. A good move for Steve Bruce, no doubt.
