Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

I'm here, Dave! Thanks for starting the thread today. Come on you Revvies!
Double T could claim the MLS Golden Boot today by scoring five goals against Houston today!
40,000. Not a bad attendance.
Just in from blowing and raking millions of leaves!!!
40,000!! Is Steve there?
Did you see Darren Bent has been drafted in for Owen?
Why not Agbonlehor?
Oh dear, the American sports analogies are starting early. Revolution as "the Buffalo Bills of MLS." The bicycle kick as the "hole in one of soccer." Yikes!
Nah, I think the Gooner flogged his tickets on Ebay once D.C. United hadn't made it. I wish I could have gone up early.
It won't matter who England put up front. It's all about grinding out a draw on Wednesday. I don't think it'll be pretty.
I've been to two MLS Cup Finals, both at the old Foxboro Stadium, including that first one back in 1996. I only just dried out from that day last week!
I don't care how it looks.
Just get a point
Absolutely.
uh oh, they aren't wearing white!!!
Get the words right, Placido!
Home colors - blue.
Couldn't they find an American to sing the national anthem?
More Houston fans that I'd have expected.
Wow, a famous singer and fly over.
MLS has arrived?
Another baseball analogy
Ngwenya only scored seven goals! It seemed as if he scored every time I was paying attention.
Revolution starting IX:
Reis
Heaps
Parkhurst
John
Thompson
Larentowicz
Joseph
Smith
Ralston
Noonan
Twellman
Go on, Stevie Nichol!
And were off
Kick off time - 12:22? That's odd.
Jacqua - the "Kareem Abdul Jabbar of MLS?"
Oh Jesus, what was that from Matty Reis!
What the hell was that
Another David James impersonator
There's something really grainy about the picture quality of this broadcast? Are you having trouble with or do you have HD?
Penalty ref!
Get a better cross over!!!
You could have a shave for today, Ralston!
Decent pace to this match. End to end. I'm enjoying it.
My picture is fine
Weird looking ball, don't you think? It's looks smaller than usual, maybe just because it's silver?
That's it. Get stuck in, Shalrie!
It can't be smaller!!!
I agree with you though.
Maybe it is and that is why Reis let it slip underneath him
Never a penalty there. Never.
Pen?
More of one then when you called for it
I'm tired of them messing about with the design of the ball. Bring back the "Telstar" - that's the gold standard of ball designs. Stick with that. Either than or just the plain white Mitre ball.
Are you wearing orange?
A white Mitre ball is my choice. Always my favorite
I am wearing my Red England shirt as celebration.
Maybe I could put on some orange to put the whammy on Houston.
What are you wearing?
This better not go to penalties
YES!!!
DOUBLE T
Great header!!!
GOAL! Twellmann - 1-0! Another four goals to go, Double T!
I was just about to say four more
Great header. For a small guy, he really is quite good in the air.
Bugger off with that penalty shout.
Great shot from behind the header!!
Have you heard that Parkhurst is heading to Fulham in January?
Uh oh, it's the glider cam again swooping over the pitch. It's making me queasy.
Dangerous free kick opportunity here for Houston....
Nicely punched away by Reis.
Robert Kraft has chosen the Revs over the Pats!!
Actually, the Pats don't play until tonight. He will make both
Yes, blow up ref. Nice free kick for us here. Put it on Taylor's head now.
Rubbish free kick from Ralston there.
G'is a penalty, ref!
I'm hungry - what's for lunch?
I just had some left over pizza
Should've been number 2 for TT there.
Great run, he should have buried it
Sounds good!
I'm going to try to hold out until half-time.
Hartlepool have drawn with Bournemouth.
Yeovil have beaten Gillingham
Is Double T the US's top striker?
I think so. He should have gone to the World Cup last time!!
The Revs have to take one of these chances. They well on top and need #2
The shadows are really bothering me!!
He should be now that Brian McBride has retired from international play. I'd like to see him partnered with Altidore and see what happens.
Free header there for Ngwenya and he sticks it wide. Thank you.
That was a close header by the Dynamo.
I am watching and listening to 606 that has just started.
Jimmy Eat World, eh? I prefer Johnny Hates Jazz, myself.
What are they saying about Twellman on 606?
Half-time: Very satisfied with that so far. 1-0. We'll take more of the same in the second half.
Not much!!!
Speaking of JHJ, they are part of the 1980s reunion tour this summer.
Visit www.johnnyhatesjazz.com
I want some kudos for JHJ!!! As much as KatW!!!!
A Superbowl type half time show!!!
What a chance for the Revs.
Of course, the commentators ignore it
One correction: Gooner is indeed at RFK today. He reports that it's a bit of weird experience for D.C. supporters when they're side isn't playing.
Are they all on the Eastern Conference bandwagon?
I missed most of the half-time show. If there isn't going to be a "wardrobe malfunction," I can't be bothered.
Hargreaves is back in the squad as well.
The Dynamo are starting to take control.
Steve Bruce going to Wigan?
They're getting closer.
Come Revs, get your finger out!!!
I can't find the tour dates for JHJ on the site, but I am grooving to the music.
Good for you
What a volley!!!
Nearly a second there. Nice volley from Noonan. Just couldn't keep it down.
I found the dates - all of them in the UK, though. Shame, I'd go see them, no fear. With Howard Jones, ABC, Paul Young and T'Pau. I don't remember T'Pau, do you?
Bugger! Bugger! Bugger! A jammy goal from Ngwenya. I told you that he usually scores when I'm watching him.
Here we go again. Terrible defending there. Avery John missed his header.
Could be penalties again.
uh oh, I go outside for a few minutes and it is now tied.
Oh dear, what's going on here. Kano could go off for this. Only yellow. Whew!
A head-butt right in front of the ref. Clever move, Kano. Suddenly we're under the cosh.
Smith and Waibel still simmering over that clash of heads.
Nice effort from Twellman. Just wide.
We've weathered the storm well and now we're back on the front foot.
DeRosario really has been anonymous all match. Shalrie's stepped on him all game.
Surely Kano Smith should come off now and be replaced by some fresh legs. He had a good first half but he seems knackered.
Oh, nice cross from Ralston but no one was following up when Onstadt bobbled it.
UH OH!!!
Bugger! 2-1 Houston. DeRosario. I shouldn't have said anything about his having a quiet game. Another good header.
Good free kick opportunity now...
two bites at it but cleared out.
Stevie Nichol needs to change things.
Good, Andy Dorman's a good change.
Oh, nearly from Noonan.
And that's it for Ralston. A good day for him but his legs have just about gone.
Again, a cross comes in and no one is there!!
We're going to get some chances in the last ten minutes, but we need to take them. We should've had two or three at this point.
Ngwenya off for Stuart Holden.
They need to get their WHITE shirts on
I have to leave before the end of this. I have to leave the house at 2:15
Good chance for Noonan again but he scuffed his shot. Come on you Revvies!
Where are you off to?
Twellman got up there well and earned a corner. Come on!
I have to take Matt to a basketball game.
ooh, off the line
Laurentowicz's header is blocked off the line. Oh...and now Dorman has a shot blocked.
Great save by the keeper, I have to admit.
If it was a foot either side, it was in
A couple of minutes left to save this one.
Free kick chance
Stop asking for the wall to go back. You're waisting time!!
Right into the keeper.
Three minutes
GET THE BALL PAST THE FIRST MAN
Unlucky Bob!!!
Sorry, but Leeds are going to win League 1
Have a safe trip to DC. Hear from you there!!!
Free kick...who will take it...looks like Dorman to take...
Full-time: The curse continues...
Sorry, Gator B. Cal and I were there, just to the right of where Jimmy Eats World played . . . the end in which no goals were scored . . . We were behind a pocket of Rev fans who were in good voice through out . . . When it was nil nil fifteen minutes in, the DC United fans started a chant of "boring, boring" . . . good thing it wasn't picked up by the rest of the crowd. . . MLS execs would've never brought another match to RFK . . . Twellman is an excellent striker . . . I could see Fulham having an interest
United fans were expressing a point -- Building this game up as the big deal when for two years in a row, the points leader has missed out on the show. If DC had been there, the joint would have rocked all 90 mins.
Did you catch Placido going after the National Anthem? Damn, it brought tears to my eyes.
Sorry about the result Bob. At least the Revs don't have a wanker to compete with the complete tosser that DeRosario guy is. I left the second the ref blew the game dead. I couldn't stomach seeing him happy.
