Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

The Potomac Primaries!

Right, you D.C. lads, it's your turn to influence the Presidential race today, so get out there and vote. And don't forget to check in on the LOB later tonight to have a bit of a chinwag about the results. Happy voting!

Just a check in to mention Leeds 1-1 home draw with Forest tonight. Are you satisfied?
There is still hope of getting the fifteen points back!!

Off to work at the college. Think of me, there is a big storm just starting out there. Fingers crossed for a Snow Day tomorrow!!

The line to vote in my precinct was longer than I've ever seen for a primary. I'm for Obama too.

Sorry to tread on the local toes, Trev. I was going by what the hacks on MSNBC were calling it. Did you at least like the crab cake visual? That's courtesy of PBS' Mark Shields, who called tonight the "Crabcake Primary."

Gooner's on to a winner tonight. The networks have already called Virginia for Obama right as the polls closed at 7 p.m., which must mean that he gave Hills a right thumping today.

Obama got white and minority women, independents, republican jumpers, and middle income voters.

What's left for Hils?

I was talking to my Italian journalist client, and he thinks that Hils' decision to axe the top Latina in her campaign is going to kill her in Texas too.

64.36 percent reporting.

Obama 63.57

A massive win for Obama.

All about Becks

It is great stuff, mate. I'm watching it too. They're banging on at Lexi about Becks not doing press with the soccer community. Lexi's been on the show several times and he's always entertaining.

I'm watching FFF, blogging, checking Daily Kos and cooking dinner. Am I a multitasker or what?

Gooner's absolutely right about the Clinton shake-up. Switching from a Latin woman to a Black woman is a transparent and desperate attempt to grab at Black voters and it won't work. More news tonight: MSNBC reports that Hillary Clinton Deputy Campaign Director Mike Henry has resigned. Clinton's in big, big trouble. She'll need to win Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania in a couple of weeks or it all goes to Obama.

Are you wishing me luck on a snow day tomorrow?

Too right! Wish you the best for tomorrow. I've just booked my flight up to Plattsburgh via Burlington, VT for next Wednesday. Then it's up to Fredonia in the first week of March and out to Redlands, California at the end of March. Racking up the frequent flier miles.

The polls in Maryland have been extended until 9:30 due to inclement weather.

Hillary's speaking now and she's in El Paso, Texas. Tells you how much she thinks of the folks voting in the Chesapeake...erm, Potomac area today. Bit of a two fingers up, really.

Sir Trev's picked a winner too tonight; MSNBC has just announced that D.C. has gone for Obama based on exit polling.

McCain has been announced as the winner in Virginia on the GOP side. No surprise there, but it's a squeaker with Huckabee - 49 to 42%. Good news there; it means that the right in Virginia is not sold on McCain. Virginia has got to be flipped in the fall.

The polls close in Maryland and Obama is immediately called the winner - a "significant margin" is the wording used by Keith Olbermann.

Interesting juxtaposition there between the Obama and McCain camps. The Obama victory party seems to be on fire while the McCain event is like nap time at the nursing home.
