Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Well, the two "big" teams are drawn together.
I am rooting for Portsmouth all the way. Can you believe it that Barnsley or Cardiff are going to be in the Cup Final??
I wish the semi finals weren't at Wembley.

Yeah, I agree with you. I'd prefer to see the semi-finals played at neutral grounds such as Old Trafford, Villa Park and...erm Elland Road?

I know that it means a big day out for four sets of supporters rather than just two, but still, it cheapens the final somewhat. I still remember the glory days on the 70s when the whole day was set aside for watching the Cup Final build-up. I wonder if kids in the UK still do that?

Those are some of my best memories of growing up. Cup Final day. You can't beat it.

I know the FA wants to make money and pay for Wembley. I have not heard anyone else suggest this but why not have the Semis held in Cardiff. A big day out for all but not Wembley.

Did you see that if Cardiff win the cup, they won't be able to go to the UEFA Cup because they are Welsh.
