Good morning fellas, I just got back from my friend's house after watching the top two go at it.
The match on FSC is already 1-1 after 7 minutes!!

As for the match this morning, it was all Chelski in the first half and they scored in injury time.
United played much better in the second half and scored after a gift from Chelsea. Drogs was fouled inside his own half. Chelsea took the kick early and passed it back right into the path of Rooney(who was injured) but he took it one on one with the keep and tucked it in off the post.
Both teams could have won it. Drogs and Bollocks argued about a taking a free kick that lasted about 5 minutes.
Chelsea got a soft pen with 3 minutes to go. A cross might have hit Carrick's hand just inside the box but it wasn't ball to hand.
United then had two shots cleared off the line.

Now it is all level. Those of you that said it was United's league... shut up!!

I see us beating West Ham at OT and Chelsea losing to Newcastle on Monday and we will still be Champs

10:17 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Citeh are also beating doomed Fulham

West Ham have taken the lead against Newcastle.
Come on Newcastle, you're my new favorite second team!!

Morning, Dave. Sorry that I missed out on this morning's festivities - I was up late writing and slept through my alarm.

Also, sorry to hear about Chelski's win. I cannot believe that they have a chance at a domestic and European double after the crap they've played this season. I'm now settling in with my brekkies to watch the Northeast derby. I've already missed two goals, as you say!

10:23 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Again, I wasn't around this morning so you didn't miss anything

West Ham are two up.

DON'T HAVE THEM START PLAYING WELL WITH UNITED COMING UP NEXT!!

10:28 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Yeah, I did understand your last email. I thought that the Gulls were still in it, but I'm delighted to be confirmed in the playoffs. Now we just need to get our fifteen points back and be confirmed champions of Division 1!

In the championship
Leicester are beating Wednesday
Bristol City are beating the other Sheffield lot
Hull are beating Palace and Ipswich are in the lead.

10:30 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Hull have boosted their automatic promotion hopes in the Championship, Frazier Campbell scoring his 15th goal of the season to put his side 1-0 up against Crystal Palace.

Can you imagine Hull City in the Premiership!? I hear their ground is state of the art, though.

10:31 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

The League 1 looks likes the Swans no matter the points.
They are two up

10:31 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

A Michael McIndoe penalty has put Bristol City 1-0 ahead at Sheffield United. A win for City today could put them right back in the shake up for an automatic promotion spot in the Championship.

How about Bristol City, Hull and Stoke all in the Prem? Crazy stuff!

10:32 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Hull is the biggest city in England never to have a team in the top flight.

10:32 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

The Blades have tied it up with Bristols. That's not a result that just a bit of gossip.

10:33 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

We'd only be a point behind them with the deduction removed by the tribunal, though. It's tight.

10:33 AM

Boom boom!

10:34 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Preston have tied it up with Ipswich.
The Blues need a win

10:37 AM

Gary Speed gets his 100th league goal for the Blades there. Name all of his clubs.

10:37 AM

SHOCKER

Birmingham scored against Costa

10:37 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Leeds, Newcastle, Bolton Sheff Utd.

10:38 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Bit of handbags here between Chopra and Wheater.

You missed out Everton for Gary Speed. He is the consummate journeyman. Good player for us - we got the best of him.

1540: As it stands, Reading are in the bottom three, with Bolton above them on goal difference and Birmingham a point ahead.

10:41 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

The Swans are three up

10:42 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Mikel Forsell is Brum's goalscorer and they're only decent player.

10:42 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Bugger, Palace have tied it up with Hull. I don't want Palace or Warnock back in the Prem

10:44 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Millwall are beating Carlisle

10:45 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Bugger the Swans! I don't want Palace up either. They've been complete wasters in the Premiership. At least Hull, Stoke and Bristol City would add something new.

10:45 AM

Doncaster have leapfrogged Carlisle into the automatic second place promotion spot on goal difference.

Nice goal by Sunderland

10:47 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Nice goal from Chopra. Sunderland and Keano in front.

10:47 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Hope they show the highlight of the earlier game

Let me know if you think it is a pen.

I wonder if they show Bollocks and Drogs going at it

10:47 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Newcastle get a goal back

10:48 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Why is this an important match - these two are playing for nothing but local pride?

10:48 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Both could still go down. They are only on 36 points.

10:49 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Wednesday have equalized at Leicester

10:49 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Half-time - 2-1 Sunderland. It's looking like Derby, Fulham and Reading for the drop. How do you feel about that?

10:52 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Newcastle have come all the way back and tied it up.

Let's hope they keep it going for next Monday

10:52 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

They were both on 37 points before Chopra's goal. Now Sunderland on 39 and Boro on 36. I still think they're both safe. It's either Bolton or Reading for the third drop spot.

10:53 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I agree but they still aren't safe

10:54 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Southampton are in the drop zone with WBA to play.

Southampton won the Cup in '76 and Pompey were relegated the same season.
Who's in the Cup Final this year?

10:55 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Well, was it a pen?

11:01 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Soft penalty there for Chelski. I thought it was more ball to hand than hand to ball. Tough break.

11:01 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I thought so too

11:05 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

David Wheater has had a horror show today.

11:08 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Bolton have scored at Spurs

11:12 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Michael Chopra does have that Peter Beardsley running stance - I can see the influence.

11:12 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Spurs have tied it up

11:13 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Bolton have taken the lead at White Hart Lane straight after the restart. The Trotters are battling for survival at the bottom of the Premier League and an inspired change at half-time from boss Gary Megson has done the trick as substitute Stelios Giannakopoulos turns the ball home from close range to make it 1-0.

Reading appeal for a penalty against Wigan after the ball appears to hit Marcus Bent on the arm at the JJB but referee Martin Atkinson waves their claims away. That game remains goalless.

The Cottagers still alive - barely.

11:15 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Stoke are beating Colchester.
If the scores stay the same... they are up!

Tranmere have taken the lead against Southend.
Millwall are two up against Carlisle

11:16 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Carlisle down to ten men

11:16 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Bloody Hell, Brum are two up

11:17 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

As it stands we would play Carlisle in the playoffs.

11:18 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Sheff Utd are two up against Bristol City

11:18 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

What are Pool playing at? Saving themselves for Chelski? Probably. Rafa is so predictable.

11:19 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

I would like Leeds to avoid Forest.
That would be a good final at Wembley

11:19 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Steven Cohen was talking on FFF about how he'd picked up a ticket for Wednesday's match off a friend. He's going to fly from LA to London and back in forty eight hours - and he's hoping to see a 0-0 draw!

11:20 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Wednesday have come from behind to take the lead at Sunderland

11:21 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Nasty clash between Pogatetz and Jones.

11:22 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Of course, not Sunderland. I meant taken the lead at Leicester

11:23 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Carlisle three down.
Good time to take them on in the play offs.

11:25 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Crouch has gotten one back for Costa

11:28 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

1627: Dullsville at the JJB. The best chance fell to Marcus Bent after six minutes when he hit the post with a header. Not a lot has happened since.

UNITED SURELY CAN GET A WIN AT WIGAN!!

11:28 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Yeah, maybe so. I'd still take the fifteen points and the Division 1 championship. It's been a while since we had some silverware in the cabinet.

11:29 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Yes, you can.

11:29 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

And the Hammers have nothing to play for now.

11:29 AM

Good old Crouchie, having his nachos.

Of course, we have lost to West Ham three times in a row in the Prem

Boro have scored.
Offside? Very close

Watford are losing at home to already relegated Scunthorpe.

They may miss the playoffss

11:34 AM

A lot of goals in the Prem today. Only Wigan vs. Reading is a borefest.

11:35 AM

STRUTH

Costa Del Pool tie it up
AND Fulham have a pen

11:40 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Danny Murphy has scored

11:41 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Yeah, shame that we won't have any East Anglian sides up in the Prem next season.

11:41 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

The pen was saved but Murphy nets the rebound

11:41 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Wow! Fulham are still alive!!

11:41 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

They need to go for the winner. That would put the cat amongst the proverbial pigeons at the bottom. They'd be on thirty points, with Reading, Brum and Bolton right in it.

11:44 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

1642: Jimmy Bullard hammers a rasping shot millimetres over as Fulham press for a win. A rueful smile from Roy Hodgson

11:45 AM

Fulham again go close to a winner against Manchester City, Clinton Dempsey's late effort being saved by the outstanding Joe Hart.

They have a funny show on Setanta.
It is puppets of Mourinio, Sven and Roon. It is funny, you should youtube it

Ipswich have tied it up

11:48 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

I've seen some clips of that on YouTube. WSD had the bloke who does the voices on last Friday. He's really good at Jose, not as good with Sven. The Roon is just a high-pitched Scouse accent - does he really speak like that?

11:49 AM
Blogger United We Stand said...

that's the one

I think he does

11:50 AM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Didn't think so. I've heard that Stoke play some good football, but people said the same thing about Swindon under Glen Hoddle. Look where they are now - playing good football in Division 1.

Here is the bottom of the Prem

With everyone having two to play

Sunderland 39 -20
Wigan 37 -17
Boro 36 -19
Bolton 33 -20
Reading 33 -28
Birmingham 32 -17
Fulham 30 -25
Derby WHO CARES

So, is anyone safe?
Maybe Sunderland because some of the teams play each other

12:07 PM
Blogger United We Stand said...

Five Live say that Sunderland are safe

12:19 PM
Blogger gatorbob said...

Yeah, I'd say Sunderland and even Wigan are fairly safe. They're one win from the traditional forty point safety line.

It's going to be two from four (Bolton, Reading, Brum and Fulham). Fulham are still really up against it - they need two wins, full stop - but they showed some real grit today, so you can't quite count them out. If I were a betting man, I'd probably say Birmingham, Fulham and Derby for the drop.

Dear oh dear. Here's the latest news on the United vs. Chelski dust-up from Football 365:

"Following a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea, their players were embroiled in a post-match scrap with groundstaff, a livid Sir Alex Ferguson described referee Alan Wiley as "diabolical", his assistant Carlos Queiroz launched an astonishing paranoid rant and Rio Ferdinand apologised for kicking a steward. Good grief. Have they lost the plot?"
