Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Football League Playoff Update

Since I'm going into withdrawal with no footer on the telly this morning, I thought I'd take a moment to update the playoff situation.

The first leg between Palace and Bristol City has just finished with a late winner for Bristol City - 1-2. Watford and Hull are up tomorrow morning.

Southend and Doncaster fought out a gritty 0-0 draw in the first leg of the Division 1 playoff.

My Leeds boys take on Carlisle on Monday in their first leg. Second legs to take place on Thursday and Friday.

Bristol City secured their position in the playoff final at Wembley next week by seeing off Crystal Palace 2-1 and winning 4-2 on aggregate.

They'll now face the winners of the Hull City vs. Watford second leg tomorrow. Hull have a 2-0 advantage going into that home leg. Interesting - it could well be Bristol City vs. Hull City final. Could either of those sides survive with the big boys? I doubt it.
