Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

We can't lose four times in a row!!
I just think about the last three times we played this lot.
I just think about '95 that cost us the league
They're off
I want an early goal!!!
For ManU of course
RONNY!!!!
Ronaldo scored within three minutes!!!
Just the start we needed.
Get another one!!
Scrambled off the line by Man Utd.
Come on boys!!!
Don't ruin this start
Five Live was on for the first ten minutes and now it has clicked off.
I now have to listen to Debs radio
It looks like we are playing 1/2 of a reserve team . . . the fix is in!
YES!!!!!!!
RON AGAIN!!!
One more and I will be happy!!
What is the best current all-Premiership team from ex Hammers?
Manager 'Appy 'Arry
1) James
2) Rio
3) G. Johnson
4) Lampard
5) Carrick
6) Cole
7) Reo-Coker
8) Tevez
9) Harewood
and who else
YES!!
TEVEZ with a stunning strike!!!
Three nil after 26 minutes!!!
1313: GOAL Manchester United 3-0 West Ham
Party time. Carlos Tevez cuts in from the left, skips past a couple of defenders and thunders in a rocket from 30 yards that swings about seven different ways in the air and flies past a flailing Robert Green. Even some West Ham fans a clapping. That was a touch of genius from the Argentine.
Bloody Hell
West Ham get one back
Ashton with an overhead kick
Come on fellas
Ron has thirty league goals
Only the fourth United player to do so.
He has forty total. Only the third United player to do so
Ruud and the King are the other two
One of the goals of the season from United target Dean Ashton, who scores a quite brilliant overhead kick into the top corner from 12 yards after Wes Brown fails to clear a cross into the United box. Phenomenal effort.
West Ham almost score again.
COME ON DEFENSE!!!!! Get your finger out!!
Bloody Hell!!!!
Nani is SENT OFF!!!
David . . . I'm off to coach Maggie's soccer game and then Cal's . . . all kidding aside, good luck, today . . .
This can't be happening
Thanks mate
I guess Ron is going back to the midfield and Tevez to play up top alone
1324: SENDING OFF
Nani is off. Now it gets a little more interesting. The Portuguese winger and Lucas Neill clash on the edge of the box and Nani is guilty of head-butting the Hammers captain and is shown a straight red. Neill was not entirely faultless and he is booked for his toubles.
What a silly plonker!!
Half time!!
Half way there
Of course, if the score stays the same Arsenal will finally be out of the race
United kick off attacking the Stretford End
Come on United, get another one and then take your foot off
Second half is under way
Parker puts one just wide
Are United nervous?
I think WH are going to have a lot of possession. I am not going to be happy for the next 40 minutes
1357: Luis Boa Morte has got a problem and he is taken off for Nolberto Solano, once Diego Maradona's favourite player in the world.
CARRICK!!!
A second Hammer old Boy to score today!!
Celtic have come from one down to two one up to add more pressure Rangers
1404: GOAL Manchester United 4-1 West Ham
For a second there, it looked as though West Ham only had 10 men. Michael Carrick is allowed to carry the ball about 30 yards without being tackled and his 25-yard shot deflects heavily off Lucas Neill and wrong-foots Robert Green. Shambolic defending from the Hammers.
Giggs on for Park
He is very close to Bobby Charlton's appearance record
Ronaldo off for Fletcher
Save him for next week
1412: West Ham have just gone here. It's one of the worst performances from a team playing against 10 men I can remember.
25 minutes to go
Fletcher hits the post
Who has ten men?
Celtic are 8 points clear at the top but Rangers have FOUR games in hand.
O'Shea on for Scholesey
Nani was the first United player to be sent off this season since Ronaldo was sent off at Fratton Park in the second game of the season.
What symmetry!!
Second game of the season
Second last of the season.
Headbutts by both
Both Portuguese
Morning, Dave! Sounds like you lot are coasting it.
1430: There are 76,013 people inside Old Trafford today, their biggest attendance of the season.
2 minutes to go at Old Trafford
Were you surprised by the Chelski win on Wednesday?
Hey Bob.
Welcome
I didn't know which way Wednesday was going to go
I was rooting for Liverpool. We do better against them
Injury time at OT
AND IT'S OVER!!!
Manchester United 4 West Ham United 0
Of course, West Ham scored!!!
Sorry
That result means Arsenal are officially out of the title race
I am now a big Newcastle fan!!!
The Newcastle Chelsea game starts at 4 o'clock England time(it is a Bank Holiday)
COME ON YOU TOON!!!!
I now hope that Fulham keep it going and beat Birmingham. I also want Wigan to be safe by next week.
I think they need Birmingham, Reading or Reading fail to win
I am still listening to Five Live through my sister's computer.
SAF is talking to Old Trafford
Well done to your lads, Dave. Are you sticking around for the Fulham match?
I'm here for both matches
FSC aren't showing the Fulham match.
Aren't they showing Reading Spurs?
The noon game is Bolton Sunderland
Interesting year in the MLS. No one is really running away with it. Two of the worst sides from last season - the Galaxy and Toronto are near the top, the champion Houston Dynamos are on the bottom. This is what happens when you have a salary cap. Wouldn't it be nice to see a Chelski or Liverpool fighting a relegation battle and a Fulham or Birmingham challenging for the championship for a change?
What are your hopes for League 1?
Who do want to go up with the Swans?
Who do want Leeds to face? They could still reach fifth.
Fulham's match is on five live.
Maybe it is Reading. I thought it was Fulham. Sorry. It's definitely one of the bottom sides.
We've done over all of the sides in contention for the playoffs in Division 1. I have no preference. We'll beat all-comers.
Did you see my comment from (8:13)
Can you finish my team?
Do want Forest to go up automatically?
I want to see Forest and Leeds go up
What would it be like if Forest and Leeds met at Wembley?
Of course, if they make it to Wembley, you're going to be there!!
How about Bournemouth?
They have won 6 or 7 on the trot.
They may survive if they can beat or draw with Carlisle after their points deduction.
I guess I'd rather see Forest go up automatically than Doncaster, our Yorkshire rivals.
Forest have the best GD of all of them
Doncaster and Carlisle play two teams that can go down.
How ironic
How about Defoe for your all-Premiership ex-Hammers side? Can't think of a #11.
Well done. Of course he needs to be there.
Now one more
Interestingly, none of the top Division 1 sides is playing each other; they're all playing lesser sides. Swansea vs. Brighton is about the best game of the day.
Konchesky of Fulham.
He score a Cup Final goal for them
Good start for Reading
Still listening to Five Live
I will keep you informed. They are covering Fulham
The kick off was about 2 minutes after the one on TV
What's your guess for the Premiership relegation race. I'm sticking with Derby, Fulham and Birmingham, although I'd love to see Fulham stay up. My head says they're already down.
Really? I don't remember him playing for West Ham.
I think Fulham have real chance.
I think they could win here and against Pompey with the Cup Final on their minds.
It still may not be enough.
I am hoping for Birmingham and Bolton.
They could struggle with Sunderland today and then they have Chelski(of course, maybe that game won't matter!)
But definitely the East End of London has been the spine of the England side. Beyond the West Ham academy lads (Lamps, Carrick, Joe Cole, and Defoe) you've also got Becks and JT who are both from that area of the capital.
Konchesky scored a cracker in the Cup Final!!
It may have been a cross but he doesn't care.
Crewe 0 Oldham 1
Crewe could go down still
McBride hits the bar!!
Spurs players are already on the Costa Del Sol sipping on pina coladas.
They have been since they won the League Cup.
Actually, they gave my lot a game
Tevez scored a last second equalizer
Birmingham keeper makes a blinder of a save
So how many goals does Ronaldo need to beat Denis Law's club record now?
At Ewood Park, Derby fans have all come in fancy dress. Stuart Hall can't keep his eyes on the game.
I think four
Eight goals for Darren Bent. The most expensive sub in the Premiership.
I still don't see why English players are more expensive than foreigners.
Forest have taken the lead
Sell out at Elland Road
Over 40,000
No goals in the Prem yet
Wait a minute... United scored four!!
Spurs have scored.
Reading could be in trouble!!!
Of course they play Derby next week.
Now there is - goal for Robbie Keane. So, so easy.
Three sides now on 33 points at the bottom of the Premiership. Yes, Reading have Derby, but will 36 points be enough for them? Hard to say.
Forest with a second goal; that has them firmly in that second automatic promotion spot which should be ours.
Forest go two up but Yeovil get one back
Bugger! The Gills have scored against us. We need momentum to go into the playoffs. The last thing we need is to lose to Gillingham at home.
Great run and pass from Keane.
Called for offside. He never was
Malbranque nearly sticks a second in for Spurs. Reading are looking poor.
Cheltenham are beating Doncaster
Reading were lucky there
Derby are 1-0 up at Blackburn! They're fighting to not have the worst Prem record.
Bloody Hell
Derby are winning at Ewood.
United couldn't do that
Oh, I missed that Gills goal
Sorry mate
Spurs were robbed there.
It's your old mate Kenny Miller on the scoresheet for Derby. Only their 20th goal of the season.
Forest have scored #3
Ahh, good old Kenny Miller!! His bloody goal at Summers still gives me nightmares
Five Live are away from the Cottage to go to NEWMARKET!!
It is the 2000 Guineas.
photo finish
Sir Trev won't be happy about the headline on Football 365: "Spineless Hammers Lie Down." Ouch!
What's the value of 2,000 guineas in pounds? Come on - you're the math teacher!
Crewe are two down
Dunno
Pathetic effort.
Let me cheat
A G. was worth one pound and one shilling
Fair enough.
Mikael Forssell misses a golden chance for Birmingham at Fulham.
A shilling was the equivalent of ten pence, right?
Boro have scored
Southend are losing
Steven Cohen was saying earlier in the week that at this point in the season he DVRs matches so that he can listen to the commentary in the background during the off-season. He uses it like those CDs of environmental sounds to lull himself to sleep. You?
A goal for Fulham right about now would make a huge difference. Brum would immediately drop to second bottom and Fulham would be joint third bottom with Reading and Bolton.
Half time: Reading 0 Spurs 1
Reading fans booing their side off. That's the last thing that Stevie Coppell's side needs.
Second half starting. Reading are hoping for a miracle here.
Ooh, Spurs really should've scored a second there, but Keane finds the side netting with the goal gaping. My cat could've scored that one.
I have the computer back
The kids were talking to their cousin on Skype.
I kicked them off and have five live again
Blackburn have tied it up with Derby
What's Trevor MacDonald from the News at Ten doing sitting next to Madjeski?
They've taken the lead
Was he, I missed it
I just looked back it was Trevor McDonnut
Yeah, the color guy made a cheesy joke - "He's just got the news - Reading are 1-0 down" because MacDonald was whispering something in his ear.
Jason Roberts takes advantage of some shocking defending by Derby's Andy Todd to put Blackburn 2-1 ahead at Ewood Park.
I would love to see Bournemouth get a goal.
Of course, Leeds need one as well
MCBRIDE HAS SCORED!!!!!
Woo hoo! Fulham are scrapping for everything. I'd love to see them stay up.
Wigan have scored at Villa Park
I am pleased about that
Fulham are out of the relegation zone for the first time in ages. Reading, Brum and Derby now in the drop zone.
Boro has scored again. They are safe
Right now Fulham are ahead of Brum Reading and just behind Bolton on GD
Will Roy Keane's boy feel any pressure to play today against Bolton. Bolton are right in the mix.
Carlisle are leading Bournemouth
Bugger
Who's a worse striker - Darren Bent or Leroy Lita?
Roy Keane's team have no pressure
Bolton have the pressure
They're both pants!!
As it stands,
Forest are up
Doncaster vs Leeds
Carlisle vs Southend
Looking forward to seeing that Nani head-butt on the review show.
Crewe are three down but they may be safe
Actually I think it's Carlisle vs. Leeds now. Isn't it 3rd vs. 6th and 4th vs. 5th?
Wigan have scored number two
Should I be scared for next week
Did you see that Cambridge played last night in the first leg of the playoffs.
They let in two goals in the second half but scored two goals themselves in the last 8 minutes.
I didn't see that.
Carlisle are now level on 82 points with Forest who have better goal difference.
Reading almost get one in there
That goal means Leeds would take on Carlisle
How did you do with them? Didn't you lose at home to them?
Bournemouth have equalized.
Now it is Doncaster
LEEDS HAVE TIED IT UP
Claret and Blue shirts apparently don't have spines today
Typical Villa. We always bottle it at the important moment. Spineless, pathetic performance."
Crewe are now four nil down.
If Bournemouth score another they are down
ooh, Bent off the inside of the post
Bent cannons one off the post.
Doncaster have scored at Cheltenham
They may go down too.
If Doncaster score again, Forest won't go up
Way hay, I just noticed that Bradley Johnson has scored his fifth of the season to draw level with the Gills. Good stuff. Now let's get the winner!
Don't you read my comments!!!
Yeovil have cut it back to 3-2
Yeah, I do but I missed that one.
Did you see my comment about the attendance at Elland Road
Sold out, more than 40,000 GOOD ON EM
Yeah, but surely Forest still have a chance to clinch automatic promotion next week too.
you need to reload before you post
Yeah, that's brilliant. Our attendance has been good all season. The best in the league by a mile.
Blackburn have scored a third
Do you nag your kids as much as you do me?!
YES
You got a problem with that!!!!
Just checking....
Your attendance is better than all but 6 teams in the Prem
The Swans have scored against the Seagulls
Cheltenham 2 Doncaster 1
Blackburn go 3-1 up on Derby as Santa Cruz heads home. It's his second goal of the afternoon and 19th Premier League goal of the campaign.
Is Santa Cruz the best signing of the season? I think so.
Doncaster are committing suicide!
He has been impressive
Reading are getting closer
Interesting. I remember Dennis Wise saying at the beginning of the season that we'd need something like 110 points to win the league given the 15 point deduction. At present we'd need 108 points to pip Swansea. He was spot on!
what a save by the spurs keeper
He's better than Robbo, isn't he?
It's Leeds time - can we get the winner?
Don't give Wisey any credit.
I always have hated him.
I am glad he left so I didn't have to root for him
FULHAM HAVE SCORED AGAIN!!!!
Southend have tied it up
Fulham are this season' West Ham and the previous season's Pompey
Leeds have scored!!!!!!
Nevland with that second Fulham goal. Well done, the Cottagers!
YESSSS! Tresor Kandol with the winner against Gillingham. That'll do us a world of good going into the playoffs.
Reading have lost and are in the bottom three.
They do have Derby next week
I was about to say that that goal would lift us into fifth spot, but it looks as if Southend have got a late goal as well.
Doncaster have lost
Boro have won 2-0
Wow, that's a great ad! Are you watching this one about the Arsenal player from POV?
Love the Ronaldo taunting and the Fabregas kissing bit. Brilliant ad!
Southend are drawing. Would that be okay
Forest have won and are up
I missed it. I will go back and look
We've won 2-1 and it has lifted us over the Shrimpers on 76 points and far superior goal difference.
Southend have drawn
Definitely! If you've got it on the Tivo. Have a look - the best ad I've seen in yonks. The Materazzi pushing bit is also classic.
what a great ad
