Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Gordon Bennett!!
That is a tough one.
Is the country Senegal?
Nice guess, but unfortunately not. You're fairly warm though on the area of the continent. Keep guessing, mate.
Well, strictly speaking, isn't the whole continent pretty WARM!! I mean the weather can be unbearable!!
Ta-dum! (rim shot!)
My name's Dave - I'll be here all week.
I'd say Nigeria. It's Anglophone for one.
Martins at Newcastle, Kanu at Pompey, etc.
Spot on, Gooner. And you've got two of them. There are seven in all. Can you think of any others?
Portsmouth must have 17.
Muntari I think is Nigerian.
Mikel at Chelsea
That lightning fast awful winger at Pompey...Utaka.
Everton have Yobo - he might be Nigerian
and they have a striker who might be Nigerian too omonike or something like it?
Well in, Simon. Pompey indeed does seem to have seventeen African players, but only two are Nigerian, as far as my late-night research at Charlotte tells me: Gooner's Kanu and John Utaka, as you right say.
Everton's Joseph Yobo counts for #4 and Chelski's John Obi Mikel or Mikel Obi (however you like it) counts for #5.
Muntari is Ghanaian, so that still leaves two more. You're right that Everton has another one but you're still reasonably cold on the name. And there's yet another more obvious Everton striker that no one has mentioned.
Yakubu!!!
Yep - Feed the Yak! He's #6. And Everton also have Anichebe, who's #7.
Good effort, lads!
So, given all of these Premiership players, you have to wonder why Nigeria have underachieved in recent years. Surely a front line of Yakubu and Martins with Utaka out wide and Yobo and Mikel anchoring the midfield should be able to win something?
