Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Obama's Veep Choice

The big campaign question this week is who Obama will pick for his running mate ahead of the Democratic National Convention. I think the canny choice is Kathleen Sebelius from Kansas but I fear that Obama will whiff on it and pick either Evan Bayh or, worse, Joe Biden.

Your thoughts?

Has Tim Kaine been eliminated from the running? Yeah, Sebelius would take the wind right out of the Clinton's sails. And he needs a goal to push Hillary back into defense.

Smarter people than me have been saying it's going to be Biden. . .I can't get excited about that . . .

That would be just another in a pretty serious series of recent mistakes.

Hey Bob, did you call here tonight? I was outside enjoying a BBQ.

The phone number was still from Florida!

This post says GatorBob?

You haven't left the Empire State already!!

Where did you bugger off to yesterday?

Yeah, I did, Davey. Pick up the phone, you twit! There are something like eighteen people in your household and there's never anyone there when I call.

I'm in the process of switching the cellphone over to a New York number. But I'm getting there. Glad to be an Empire Stater.

Good shout out from Sir Trev. MSNBC have had a satellite link up outside Biden's door all day. Looks to be Joe for the veep spot. I agree with Gooner - it's a disappointing pick and one that will surely depress the enthusiasm of young voters. Obama seems to be listening to all the wrong people these days.

What a miserable two weeks this has been for Obama. This is the product of a frightened campaign. Not good at all.
