Well, we're off. I'll fix that weird picture at the half or not.
Arshavin and Eduardo on the bench. The usual suspects on the pitch
Keane makes his return for Spurs.
This sets up as a cracker.
Hey Stevo, I am here
I have the Atdhe link working strong
Spurs haven't beaten the Arse in the league since United's treble winning season
Good to see that Eduardo is on the bench for your lot
My link is just about to start, you?
off now
I've got the first ATDHE link up and it's good and clear. Looks very sunny in NW6
My link is solid but not as clear as it could be
Morning, Davey.
Happy to see Eduardo back.
Do you think that Keano has to score today?
Is this Alan Green commentating?
He doesn't have to, thank-you-very-much, no!
Shame it isn't Sky's coverage. It is their cameras but it is Sport 7. We won't get the half time stuff
I am going to look for the Sky coverage
No, this is Ian Drake, I think
Keane should get a yellow for simulation.
Was Keane #7 before?
If you find it, let me know. I cannot take this wanker. He bangs on and on against Arsenal every week.
Will do
He was complimenting Arsenal's passing
I don't remember.
Adebayor should be steaming in there. What a chance to take this game by the throat. Say what you will about Bendtner, but he'd have met that ball with his commitment.
The other two links aren't good.
One is foreign and the other is windows.
They may change though
Adebayor doesn't seem to be 'trying'
You won't but if you had a piece of paper and checked off all the times he compliments us and all the times he slags us off, you'd see. You'd also see that he really prizes physical commitment so that apes like Brett Emmerton give him a woodie.
I Hate Him.
This game looks like it is an afternoon game at Almunia's goal and a night game at Cudicini's
Yeah, I wish I knew what the difference was from last season for Adebayor. I fear it's another wantaway money issue, but in this economy, can he really think that going off form is going to bring in the big offers from the Italians and Spanish.
Here we go, poor effing Eboue again booed by his support. Honestly, move on.
They won the toss, and the teams switched ends from where they warmed up. I bet it was to take advantage of the sun on Almunia's goal.
Ball in the net from Eboue. Looking at the replay, did you think there was enough to call that back? Very petty from the ref.
I was in the loo, what happened?
I am at 15:26, is it the same for you?
I hope Andrei brought Roman a blini stuffed with polonium.
I think this guys name is Ian Dark not Drake
Did you think that Arshavin would be on the bench today?
Eboue needs to shut up
What is with Keane?
He has been at so many clubs.
Wolves, Coventry, Inter, Spurs, Costa
Mike made a comment, if he is such a good player why are these clubs getting rid of him?
Eboue on a run down the left, shot parried by Cudicini, scramble with Adebayor and Woodie, Woodie falls over Adebayor, ref whistles as Eboue slams it home.
Really, Woodie was clumsy and lucky that the ref whistled that dead.
Eboue has reason for feeling agrieved and that's part of that yellow card. Suicide by ref?
Great tackle by Clichy but very dangerous
Look at Modric, he was always going to fall over.
I was hoping that Arshavin would be drafted in immediately, yes. Look, without Cesc, and with Song in the mid, we're very soft. So we need a guy who knows his way to goal.
How has Eduardo done with the reserves? Has he scored much?
Morning, lads. For some silly reason, I thought that the match started at 9 but it appears that we've been going for a while. 8:30 then?
Keane was also at Leeds, no?
Morning sleepy head!
Yes he was at ER too
Woody has won quite a few headers in the box
Eduardo has looked quite lively. I saw his first reserve game and he was unlucky. Two first class saves and he hit the post. He went off after 45 or I think he would have scored.
We're trying to play a slick passing game with Song, Eboue, Diaby who aren't up to the job. Wenger should be introducing some change up in style until he's got players that can do the job.
Tottenham playing at "high tempo" did he say? Huddlestone's clearly not on the pitch then.
Lennon should have done better
Yeah, Robbie's a journeyman alright. Wolves, Inter, Coventry, Leeds, Spurs, Liverpool and now Spurs again. I'd love to be his real estate broker.
I forgot Denilson. He's another one who's not up to the passing game that Wenger insists on.
Good save, Manuel!
Nice save by Almunia
oooh, Spurs lucked out there!
I don't rate Modric as highly as many do, but he's certainly capable of losing his marker if that's Song. WDF?
And at the other end, where are our forwards. We'd let tap-ins go begging over and over.
Corluca with suicidal play there. The Arse should have stuck that in.
You're right, Ian doesn't seem to fancy the Arsenal, does he?
That doesn't look good for Adebayor
Adebayor's done for the day, surely. Sad. Nick Bendtner's up jogging already.
I don't think Ian does. I think he's a poor choice to do our games.
Shit, there's Adebayor off with a hammy. Bring on Nick and stop faffing around.
Why is he not ready?
Get on the field
What is going? Wow, I thought Eboue was off there!
OH MY GOD!!
HE IS!!!
WHAT HAPPENED!
Bloody hell, is this a second yellow for Eboue? No, it's a yellow for Modric. Close thing there. It is a second yellow! Make up your mind, ref!!!
What the hell was Eboue doing? He knows that this ref has him in his sights. What a fool.
What did he do?
The Gooner fans don't look too happy.
I bet you they are pissed with Eboue and not the ref
Well, Nick Bendtner is on now but Arsenal are down to ten.
From the replay that was stupid by Eboue!
Arsenal fans haven't been happy with Eboue for quite some time, right Gooner?
Maybe this will light a fire under the Arsenal? That often happens in adversity.
Good block, Kolo on Pavlyuchenko.
Both Davey,
This ref is typically bad, too petty for the first card. The Prem is falling towards MLS standards of refereeing. If Blatter and Platini didn't select any English ref for 2010, you really couldn't argue that there's any one ref who should go.
But clearly Eboue's head was not right. You saw Toure before talking to him, and after he lashed out at Modric, but Eboue's head had gone. Standing over the player he's just kicked?
Clichy had very little else he could have done. Good yellow.
Now Clichy's gone into the book for a foul on Aaron Lennon.
For once, I agree with Ian Darke. Just get into the dressing room and sort yourselves out. Arsene will probably have to bring on someone as a holding player. Shame, because I would have loved to have seen both Eduardo and Arshavin bombing off the bench.
Arshavin's arrival spells the end for Eboue. His contract is up at the end of the season. There was some talk that Real Vallecano offered 7M for him and you knew that was just talk. We'd have snapped their hand off if they'd offered that.
Eboue might be released, period I would think. There's no way back for him because he's not good enough to go on a tear of good form. He's done.
Good hit, Palacios but easy for Manu to tip over to be fair.
That's right Bob, except we'd have that guy on the pitch now if he was in the squad.
Still, Wenger's too cautious to put both of them on.
£7 million would be great business for Eboue. Surely there's a Brazilian, Argentine or Congolese youngster who you could bring in for cheap to replace him. I'm sure that those DaSilva boys at ManYoo probably have eight identical brothers, right Davey?
0-0, that's as good as it gets for this performance.
I need another coffee.
Who the hell is this in the studio? And what's with that accent?
This is definitely B-level coverage. I'm going to try another link.
We got some Aussies in the studio(maybe NZ)
I am going to try another link
We've got a stable of young guys who Wenger doesn't have confidence enough in. Merida looks very good, Mark Randall looks very good, and Jack Wilshere looks amazing. But Wenger's blind spot is defensive play. All of his defenders are picked on their ability to start and support an attack. Wenger's selection has alway displayed a disdain for defending.
I'm having a listen to 606 from yesterday afternoon. I would have thought it would be all Liverpool fans but it's all Everton fans singing the praises of Jo.
Probably South Africa
That's my old mate Gary Bailey
I wish we had the Sky Coverage.... boy are we getting picky!!! We're watching it live!!!
Now they call the NZ team the Black Caps
Maybe it is NZ after all.
Should I stop worrying about it.
I thought so
I agree. Wenger's never been that keen on the ugly side of defensive work. He tends to bring in lots of creative players. The only big defensive I can remember that he's made was getting Sol Campbell from Spurs. When he first came in, Arsene had the benefit of several years with the fabled Arsenal back-four that George Graham had cultivated.
You're the only person on the planet who could still recognize Gary Bailey after all these years. Blimey! Who's the other geezer with him?
We're off
Right - second half starting. Link #1 is Ian, Link #2 is in French and Link #3 is busted, so Ian it is.
Which end is Spurs favorite to attack? They chose the sides because of the Sun
Now Sagna's down after picking up a knock. That's not good!
Paul Parker is the color man
Ex United right back
So no Darren Bent, no Huddlestone, no David Bentley for Spurs today, right?
Bentley is suspended
I remember him being drafted in for the 1990 World Cup for England. It was his diagonal that Lineker finished off for the equalizer in the semis against the Germans.
As Gerry Harrison would say
High, Wide and Horrible
Oh, Roman did all the hard work and then hit the pie salesman with his shot. Shocking!
Great move and then another HIGH, WIDE AND HORRIBLE
JEsus, what a let-off. Take the shame Roman.
Poor pie salesman... nice line Dahlgren
You never commented on the commentary line from yesterday, Dave.
Boro line up for a free-kick:
"It is Downing...and it is miserable." That's almost as good as the Harrison line IMHO.
Very good
Eduardo's warming up...goodie!
Whoever is marking RVP has done his job today. Has he had a touch this half?
Roman takes another shot and hits a perfect 'pass' to Lennon on the right wing!!
Will #23 come on?
You know for all of Arsenal's woes this afternoon, Spurs really haven't had that many clear cut chances. Keano hasn't had a sniff yet.
Damn, somebody give Nasri a shout that Lennon is closing in. That looked like we had them well stretched.
Those long crosses are not going to work for Arsenal today. I agree with Paul Parker there.
Keane heads just over!
Keano's first chance and he puts it over the top. Lennon put that one on a plate.
What - Robbie Keane isn't good enough for Anfield, but David Ngog is? Laughable!
Davey, I wouldn't count on it. Arshavin has only had one practice with the team because he had to go back to Russia to comply with the work permit. Add that the Russian season is on winter hiatus and that he's not played in over 30 days. And finally, add in that Wenger tends to be very, very cautious. Whether it's correct or not, he seems to believe that the 11 that start should finish if uninjured.
Good point. I knew the Russian season had been over for quite awhile.
I agree. It's Rafa's failure as much as Keane's that he didn't succeed. That's a weird one.
Can I just mention that I picked up 80 points on the Predictions game yesterday?
No there isn't time...
Nick sees 11 men on the pitch. Who was that phantom he thought he was playing in there?
Steve, will you take a draw?
I'm sorry, there's not time. I'm not sorry actually.
Anything but a loss Davey.
Darren Bent's coming on, so it's time for those seated in Row Z to get nervous.
Here comes a worse player than 'Arry Mrs.
Oh, RVP finally offered a ball in the area.
I've just heard from Luton.... that my aunt is ill
Denilson's having a bit of the Bendtner's there too.
I'll just say that I had Arsenal with a 0-1 win today. It's still on, of course, but I'm glad that I put the insurance chip on the match. You lot are far too unpredictable this season.
Possibly gastroenteritus?
Crap, RVP nearly hits a screamer into the net.
Oh dear, my feed's frozen up. And I've got a slight buzzing in my ear...
My link has frozen... in the process of reloading
French feed is working
atdhe won't even load
Song very close to scoring from a corner. He hit it with his foot which is traditionally not his best appendage.
adthe link two french feed is working.
I've switched to the French link. Apparently Darren Bent has a mal a la tete.
Keane goes close with a very tricky bit of skill catching the ball running and vollying.
Keane with a belle frappe aussi
Dis donc! Someone in red get on the end of that ball!
i still can't get atdhe
this feed is a bit "live from Tora Bora" no?
Adieu Corluca.
On comes Chimbonda for Corluka.
dix-cinc minutes left.
Bonne travail, Manu!
ou et Davey? Esque il buggered off?
Morning, lads.
Is today's West Ham match on FSC?
I have the French link up
Morning Sir Trev
Yes it is
NO TEAM BEATS UNITED THREE TIMES IN A ROW!!
Morning John,
I think so. At llam.
0-0 at WHL.
If Spurs don't win this one, they'll never beat the Gooners
Allez Denilson!
Think Nick was bundled over there? I do.
Is your french education from Mrs. Thompson(?) helping?
Un peut, n'est pas?
I still can't believe she gave you homework to watch those porno french movies!!!
Morning, John. I see that you're on with JDLC on the Facebook. Shame there's a certain someone in Scotia who's boycotting us.
Emmanuelle dans l'Afrique was very educational on several levels.
The first link is from Skysports but is being shown over a guy's TV
Yes, Dave, why no FB love from Scotia?
Merde!!!!
Cudicini gets away with a potential howler. Clichy est blesse. Gibbs warming up.
Dunno, I don't want my students to find me.
If I don't exist, they won't find me
Don't remember the porn, honestly.
Lennon est sorti aussi. Clichy est aussi. Gibbs sont entre.
Rubbish, you always talked about having to watch those French movies on BBC2. Kids getting into bed with their mothers!!
Anyone else change it to the first link?
I gave you the instructions for setting your profile to private, you big wally! Get it done tout suite!
Into the last two of the 90
It's true. Davey proves Descartes in the negative.
Are you talking about Open University?
Thank you
I drink therefore I am?
Come again?
Almost into stoppage time, now.
4 minutes of extra time surely.
Stop calling me Shirley
ooh, Bendtner goes close. Nice save by Cud
no, not Rene's Antipodean cousin's theory.
John Stuart Mill of his own free will on half a pint of shandy was particularly ill...
From the Beeb
1521: Not exactly 4-4 is it?
Almunia denies Spurs
Massive massive massive from Almunia.
I'm off, but I'll make every effort to co-opt the telly for the West Ham match and have my laptop at the ready.
Before you go... I'm forever POPPING bubbles!!
how many minutes of extra time?
Still over 27 minutes left of the ninety on the FSC match.
They better finish that sharpish
That is it
Spurs and Arsenal will both not be happy with that result. Arsene must be the happier because of the 10 men
Fin: 0-0 at White Hart Lane. I'm not sure about "tres beau" for this match, but it did wake me up. I'm hoping for some goals in the second match.
Spurs still only 2 points out of the zone
I still have my sky link going
Bugger, the guy has stopped his broadcast.
i am going to check the United links to see if they have started
Whoooo!
Well, the unevolved half of North London will be disappointed that they didn't make more of that.
Arsenal showed good character to survive, but really had nothing going on up front. And Eboue spoiled another chance to get closer to Villa.
True to form, Wenger didn't throw either Arshavin or Eduardo into this one and that cost us points in the end.
Could have been much worse.
Arsenal now four points clear of Everton. Spurs only two points clear of the drop zone and three points off rock bottom. 'Arry's still got some work to do.
Right, Dave. You've got half an hour to pull your finger out and friend all of us on FB. Get to it, mate. Don't make me drive out there to eastern New York!
What incentive would that be to make me do it? I'd like you to come east
Team News from Upton Park
West Ham: Green, Neill, Collins, Upson, Ilunga, Behrami, Parker, Noble, Collison, Cole, Di Michele. Subs: Lastuvka, Nsereko, Boa Morte, Kovac, Spector, Tristan, Sears.
Man Utd: Van der Sar, Rafael Da Silva, Ferdinand, Vidic, O'Shea, Ronaldo, Scholes, Carrick, Giggs, Tevez, Berbatov. Subs: Foster, Park, Nani, Welbeck, Fabio Da Silva, Fletcher, Eckersley.
I am pleased with United's team
I wish there was more firepower on the bench.
I guess Wayne isn't quite ready
Thoughts on the England Squad?
Goalkeepers: Green (West Ham), Hart (Man City), James (Portsmouth).
Defenders: Bridge (Man City), A Cole (Chelsea), R Ferdinand (Man Utd), Jagielka (Everton), G Johnson (Portsmouth), Terry (Chelsea), Upson (West Ham), L Young (Villa).
Midfielders: Beckham (LA Galaxy), Barry (Villa), Carrick (Man Utd), Downing (Middlesbrough), Lampard (Chelsea), Milner (Villa), Wright-Phillips (Man City), A Young (Villa).
Forwards: Agbonlahor (Villa), C Cole (West Ham), Crouch (Portsmouth), Heskey (Villa)
I've just posted on Gooner's thread that I worry about the forward line not having enough goals in it. It's solid enough at the back and in mid-field. We don't miss Gerrard that much in the department. But what's the striking partnership in that squad - Crouch and Heskey perhaps?
Just noticed that thread
Come on United(Manchester)
Score three quick ones!
We're off
And we're off!
Prediction, Dave?
The Atdhe link was from FSC. I wanted it to be SKY for the halftime show
not a good start by the team in white
A win
Who is this commentating, Tony Mowbray?
