I'll be following the two English clubs closely tonight as they take on some stiff opposition.
Juventus team: Buffon, Chiellini, Mellberg, Legrottaglie, Molinaro, Nedved, Camoranesi, Sissoko, Tiago, Del Piero, Amauri. Subs: Manninger, Grygera, Marchionni, Poulsen, Marchisio, Iaquinta, Trezeguet.
Chelsea team: Cech, Bosingwa, Terry, Alex, Ashley Cole, Kalou, Ballack, Lampard, Mikel, Drogba, Anelka. Subs: Hilario, Ivanovic, Mancienne, Ferreira, Malouda, Di Santo, Stoch.

Juventus get us under way, kicking from left to right as I see it.
can I just start the proceedings by pointing out just how big a tosser Jose is? It was a return to the bad old days this morning to find that he's all over the papers and sites today moaning about Inter's treatment last night.
It's an indication of just how big a shower of shite Inter's performance was yesterday when Jose starts carping hypocritically about injustice. Jose, who exactly decided to throw Julio Cruz on late in the match to save your bacon? Who brought Maicon into the side to begin with?
The most consistantly detestible figures in the game continue to be Sepp, MichelP, and Jose.
I hope you humiliate those sods in two weeks Davey.
Superb noise from the crowd. The tempo is decent with Chelsea enjoying early possession and Juve closing at every opportunity.

Delighted. With so many important guys out and with their replacements being the likes of Bendtner and Eboue and Song, taking one-nil back to the Olympico is a bonus. More would have been better, but it's not surprizing to hear that Bentdner and Eboue missed sitters that would have meant clear sailing in a fortnight.
We'll have Eduardo next time. We'll probably have Cesc. We may have Theo.
I was encouraged by the way Diaby stepped up too. While Cesc's out, I think pushing Nasri more central poses intriguing possibilities for Eduardo out left, and Arshavin out right. In the league, that is.

At the moment the English clubs have got to be tremendously happy. Chelski are in the driver's seat with a few minutes left of the first half and Liverpool will be delighted to go into the dressing room at 0-0.

Boro have scored a second against West Ham, so it doesn't look like the Happy Hammers will be walking up Wembley Way this season.
Chelski are kick off the second half. If they can escape without Juve scoring an away goal, they'll count this a very useful evening.

As I've seen it explained, it's 10 points for first offense (we had that in the spring of 07, then 15 points for second offense (that was us in fall of 07 because of a second bout of administration in the summer) and 30 for a third offense (e.g., Luton).

I thought the ref was great. He didn't fall for any histrionics. He didn't give fouls anytime Ronnny fell over. The one thing I thought he did wrong was book Roon. I thought he was clean
Goals are extremely hard to come by tonight. Coming up on the hour mark and there are still only those two goals by Drogba and Ribery to account for. 0-0 in the other two matches then. Rafa Benitez will be pleased.
