Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

I'll be following the two English clubs closely tonight as they take on some stiff opposition.
Juventus team: Buffon, Chiellini, Mellberg, Legrottaglie, Molinaro, Nedved, Camoranesi, Sissoko, Tiago, Del Piero, Amauri. Subs: Manninger, Grygera, Marchionni, Poulsen, Marchisio, Iaquinta, Trezeguet.
Chelsea team: Cech, Bosingwa, Terry, Alex, Ashley Cole, Kalou, Ballack, Lampard, Mikel, Drogba, Anelka. Subs: Hilario, Ivanovic, Mancienne, Ferreira, Malouda, Di Santo, Stoch.
I've got a Spanish-language JustinTV stream up for the Liverpool match in Madrid.
Juventus get us under way, kicking from left to right as I see it.
can I just start the proceedings by pointing out just how big a tosser Jose is? It was a return to the bad old days this morning to find that he's all over the papers and sites today moaning about Inter's treatment last night.
It's an indication of just how big a shower of shite Inter's performance was yesterday when Jose starts carping hypocritically about injustice. Jose, who exactly decided to throw Julio Cruz on late in the match to save your bacon? Who brought Maicon into the side to begin with?
The most consistantly detestible figures in the game continue to be Sepp, MichelP, and Jose.
I hope you humiliate those sods in two weeks Davey.
Superb noise from the crowd. The tempo is decent with Chelsea enjoying early possession and Juve closing at every opportunity.
Welcome, Gooner! Were you at least happy with the Arsenal result?
Delighted. With so many important guys out and with their replacements being the likes of Bendtner and Eboue and Song, taking one-nil back to the Olympico is a bonus. More would have been better, but it's not surprizing to hear that Bentdner and Eboue missed sitters that would have meant clear sailing in a fortnight.
We'll have Eduardo next time. We'll probably have Cesc. We may have Theo.
I was encouraged by the way Diaby stepped up too. While Cesc's out, I think pushing Nasri more central poses intriguing possibilities for Eduardo out left, and Arshavin out right. In the league, that is.
GOAL! Kalou threads a lovely ball through to Drogba who nets it easily.
Chelski 1-0 up!
Martin Tyler's wondering if the arrival of Guus Hiddink will mean the renaissance of Didier Drogba.
Fifteen minutes in and that's the only goal so far in the Champions League fixtures.
Too bad. I was hoping that this would be difficult for them today.
Jesus wept. I was just looking at the AFC site and see that Diaby's only gone and crocked his calf and won't be available for Fulham on Saturday. Most brittle player ever to wear the shirt? Probably neck-and-neck with RVP.
Ooooh, that was nearly a second goal for Drogs. The corner was swung over into the danger area by Lampard and Drogs was just put off by Mellberg.
7-0 shots for Chelski so far. Total dominance.
I'm always for the English clubs at this stage. I've got no love for Juve or Real.
Sissoko breaks forward to try to match his effort from Sunday's Serie A match but shoots woefully wide.
Juve just have nothing going forward at the moment.
Oooh, Del Piero was put there by Tiago and make Cech work there. First real chance for Juve.
Oh, there was a free header there for Chiellini but he missed it almost entirely.
Pavel Nedved should have been carded there for a blatant hand ball.
Coming up on the half hour mark and Juve are slowly getting back into this match. The Tinkerman looks worried on the touchline.
Still no goals in the other three CL matches.
Lamps tries a fairly ambitious free kick from fully forty yards there.
Sissoko's gone down under a crunching tackle from John Terry.
At the moment the English clubs have got to be tremendously happy. Chelski are in the driver's seat with a few minutes left of the first half and Liverpool will be delighted to go into the dressing room at 0-0.
Boro have taken the lead against West Ham in their 5th Round FA Cup replay.
Kalou again beats his man and whips in a dangerous ball.
Nedved tries a pop from 25 yards but it doesn't trouble his "Czech-mate" as Tyler puts it. Clever, Martin!
Drogba has given away a dangerous free kick to the right of the gaol. Del Piero to take...
Thumps it straight into the wall. He's been watching Ronaldo then.
Franck Ribery has opened the scoring for Bayern away to Sporting. That should do the German champions nicely.
Half-time at Stamford Bridge then.
1-0 Chelski.
Boro have scored a second against West Ham, so it doesn't look like the Happy Hammers will be walking up Wembley Way this season.
Chelski are kick off the second half. If they can escape without Juve scoring an away goal, they'll count this a very useful evening.
Hey, I am here for the second half
I am following Chelsea on ESPN2 and Costa on atdhe
Del Piero's delivery has been horrible all evening.
Juve having some pressure.
Who has been on top with Real and Costa?
Did you see that Darlington have gone into administration and lost ten points automatically.
What is the deal with the points reduction?
Why only 10? Why Leeds 15? Luton 30?
Welcome, Dave! How's everything?
As I've seen it explained, it's 10 points for first offense (we had that in the spring of 07, then 15 points for second offense (that was us in fall of 07 because of a second bout of administration in the summer) and 30 for a third offense (e.g., Luton).
Long day at school. The kids were nuts!!
Drogs should be booked for that dive
Danka
Torres in the book.
He is not a happy camper
I saw Gooner's comments about Jose.
I agree. He was pathetic!
I thought the ref was great. He didn't fall for any histrionics. He didn't give fouls anytime Ronnny fell over. The one thing I thought he did wrong was book Roon. I thought he was clean
Goals are extremely hard to come by tonight. Coming up on the hour mark and there are still only those two goals by Drogba and Ribery to account for. 0-0 in the other two matches then. Rafa Benitez will be pleased.
I don't know what Jose was on about. His side was just clearly outplayed. And at home!
Cech spills one but he's got away with it.
Cech drops it twice. Was that a pen?
What is up with Cech. He makes lots of mistake.
Bayern Go two up
As it stands, we could easily see four English sides (or half of the draw) into the quarter-finals in a few weeks time. Talk about dominance!
Here come the goals
After Bayern's goal... Panathinaikos score at Villarreal
I don't think Cech's been the same since his injury. He's lucky that he's protected by a terrific defense.
Torres coming off
Del Pe goes close
Bayern home and dry then at 0-2. Ribery and Klose. Clinical.
Sounds like Rafa's closing up shop for the night.
Exactly Davey. That bloke was Spanish and you'd expect him to be card-happy. But I thought he was right restrained.
Jose shouldn't complain. If I was reffing a match of his, I'd be wearing a black cap and possibly a hangman's mask.
"Take him away!"
I say.. keep away from England Jose
Bob's right. It could be mental or even a physical disability, but Cech's not nearly the commanding keeper he was. Best in the game before that assault from Steven whats-his-name.
Typical, can't even remember that little felon's name now. Shame.
I love it - Martin Tyler refers to Claudio Ranieri and "The Tinkerman."
Another goal in Portugal and it goes to the Germans
Rib with a pen
I say fall into a deep pit of ordure and stay there Jose.
Hunt, wasn't it?
Villareal have equalized with a penalty. That's the duff tie of the round for me.
Did you see why Toure was carded yesterday?
It was because he was late coming out for the second half! He has a superstition that he has to be the last out of the dressing room. Gallas was getting treatment so they started with NINE men!!
Villarreal tie it up
Looks like Malouda's getting stripped off. What ever happened to Quaresma? Is he in the deep freeze now that Big Phil is gone?
Great story about Toure - I love it!
Juve are getting some chances!
Speculative shot there from Juve.
I'm off to my class, then. Enjoy the rest of it. Come on, the English!
Take care
I am off to coach practice
Costa get a crucial goal
Free kick whipped in and Yosi Ben knocks it in.
Surely, Costa are going through now!
Reirra hand balls a cross and is in the book. He is out of the second leg
Trez coming on for Juve
HE has a half a chance with his first touch and it was blood horrible!!
Bayern are FOUR up!!
Stevie G comes on for the last 3 minutes..... WHY?
Luca Brazzi... I mean Luca Toni with Bayern's goal
Damn clientele! They keep interrupting.
When Bob corrected me about that Reading player, I was going to ask him if he had a cold!
I loved the Toure story. What a farce. Typical of both of them. Why did he think he could just enter the field of play unasked? Silly begger.
3 minutes of added time at the Bridge and at the Berbabeu
I have to leave for practice.
Looks like a good day for England
In fact, three teams win 1-0 and the other draws at nils.
Costa in the best position!
Cheerio
