Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

No-one expects the Milanese aquisition!

File this under "the craziest s**t I've ever read." Milan flogs Kaka off to Real, flirts with Adebayor, and then this morning, signs Gooch. Has Maureenyo hacked into Milan's bank account and created a Trojan horse bot that sells class and replaces it with clumsy? If not, I cannot see the pro-Milan argument here. Unfathomable.

It makes no sense!

Crazy stuff. The Italians have always valued quality defenders. I predict that he doesn't last a month.

They've elected not to extend Senderos's loan, which to my mind means that they didn't think they could cure fundemental flaws in his game. But surely at 22, Senderos has more potential than Gooch does at 27?

And if Milan, after seeing Gooch's lack of technique daily and up close, do sit him on the bench, what's the good of that? Obviously Onyewu wasn't keen enough a player to attract Wolves, Burnley, or Brum who'd you kinda expect to have to make this sort of gamble. Who will rescue him once Milan susses this mistake out?

Somehow there's something about Gooch that creates a mythical first impression on them. The WSD guys were enamored with him at first...that is, until his horrible performance at WC 2006.

Btw, nice Python reference!

Thanks.

Here's a follow up article from the Guardian. I think they have confused the word appease with incite!

Well, I don't like that at all. Typical anti-American Guardian bollocks. Gooch isn't my favorite center back but I don't his signing should be enough to stir the ire of Milan's ultras.
