Boro and Sheffield United have got the new season off to a rather tepid start with a 0-0 draw on Friday evening. I'm hoping for a bit better this morning.
Division 1 play has officially kicked off with Gillingham at home to Swindon. No score there so far.
Southhampton and Millwall have started and I've got a nice stream up through Atdhe. Good start to the season. The Saints, of course, start with a ten point deduction, so we won't be worrying about them for a while.
It's all Millwall in the early going.
The Gills have scored the first Division 1 goal of the season through Bentley.
I've lost the Soton stream but have another up through Justin of Soccer Saturday.
Sven Goran Ericksson, the new "Director of Football" at Notts County, interviewed by Jeff Stellings right now.
Not a lot of action yet at St. Mary's. 0-0 20 minutes in.
This match is seriously putting me to sleep. Might have a wee kip.
Soton have the ball in the net but it's called back for offside. New boss Alan Pardew not pleased.
Millwall nearly in there but for some desperate defending by Chris Perry.
Half time at St. Mary's. Still 0-0.

Gillingham are three up against Swindon
Well, I dozed off for about half an hour with SS in the background and of course the goals started flying in. James Beattie opened the scoring for the Saints but they were then pegged back by a penalty. It's 1-1 at St. Mary's.
Meanwhile, Gillingham have raced away to a 5-0 win over the woeful Swindon defense.

Soton and Millwall seem to be settling for a draw. That'll leave the Saints on -9 points.

Leeds kick off at home to Exeter to start their 09/10 season in approximately fifteen minutes. No Fabian Delph, who was scooped up by Villa for £6 million the other day, but I'm still hopeful. It's still the dynamic duo of Beckford and Becchio up front.

Morning chaps. I took a pill early this morning because I wasn't falling asleep and have just managed to greet the day now.
I hate the idea of Norwich being so rubbish that they fall into league 2. I'm surprised that they've started the season this badly. You'd have thought they have the structure to compete and challenge to get right up again. This will be a blow to those aspirations.
