The Manchester Derby
Manchester City host Manchester United at the City of Manchester Stadium in an early morning kickoff . This is not a typical Manchester derby as there is more than pride and bragging rights at stake. This is a must win game for both teams as United attempt to keep their slim title hopes alive while Citeh fend off a challenge from Spurs in the battle for that coveted fourth place, the final Champions League Spot! United won the corresponding fixture at Old Trafford 4-3 with a dramatic late winner from Michael Owen, a former Citeh player. Just to add to the rivalry, Sir Alex Ferguson let Carlos Tevez sign for Citeh last summer. Tevez is currently Citeh's leading scorer in the EPL. He could be a thorn in United's side. Was Ferguson wrong to let Tevez go the blue half of Manchester?United could sure use Tevez in their attack as Wayne Ronney is injured and Dimitar Berbatov is currently out of form. Only time will tell. There is another important match as well as Tottenham Hotspur host Chelsea at White Hart Lane in the late match. Another match featuring a Champions League hopeful hosting a title challenger. A United victory and a Chelsea defeat will narrow Chelsea's lead to one point. However, a Chelsea vitory and a United defeat will increase Chelsea's lead to seven points with only three games remaining. Come join us for some fascinating EPL matches.

Good morning MUR
Fingers crossed!!!
Everything was going terribly wrong for Bob two weeks ago and now things have all changed.
We have had a terrible week and now it is our turn
Team news... Rooney starts!
Ahoy mateys! I'm here for my usual Saturday morning bass fishing tips....
Er, that is I'm looking forward to seeing ManYoo win the Manc derby 7-6 with a 98th minute winner from a 16 year old kid we've never heard of before. Let's hope it serves up a classic.
Great link for Soccer Saturday

Morning Bob
Here's a nice link for Soccer Saturday:

Morning, Dave! Feeling confident?
I cannot believe that Fergie is risking Roon again. I hate him. Wrap that kid up in cotton wool until June 12th!
Stick it up your left nostril!
1201: TEAMS Man City v Man Utd
Man City: Given, Onuoha, Kompany, Toure, Bridge, Johnson, De Jong, Barry, Bellamy, Tevez, Adebayor. Subs: Nielsen, Zabaleta, Ireland, Wright-Phillips, Santa Cruz, Vieira, Boyata.
Man Utd: Van der Sar, Neville, Vidic, Jonathan Evans, Evra, Fletcher, Scholes, Gibson, Valencia, Rooney, Giggs. Subs: Kuszczak, Berbatov, Carrick, Nani, Rafael Da Silva, O'Shea, Obertan.
Big Nose has just told Jeff to shut up because he's reminding him that Pool won't be in the CL next season.
Fergie has the both the old boys in at the same time.
I am not sure he should do this.. of course, hopefully they'll both score!
They're talking about Wayne Rooney moving to Spain at the end of the season. Can you imagine any player less adaptable to living on the Continent?
Luv it
United have done well against Citeh this season
Won at OT twice and played very well but lost in the Cup game at Eastlands
Couldn't agree more
Transition??? We're going for an unprecedented FOUR Championships in a row!!!
This guy has change the channel from SS to MUTV
Turn it back
United are four points behind after dropping 5 out of the last 6 points.
This is the turning point
The ESPN preview show has started up with Adrian Healey, Robbie Mustoe and Lexi.
Good morning UWS and Blue Devil. Looking forward to a classic Manchester derby. For the first time in years the Manchester derby is a bigger match than our contests vs Costa.
I agree. If we are in transition than what does that say about the remainder of the EPL teams?I think I will put Lexi on ignore.
The teams are in the tunnel... here the come
Come on United!
The Beeb agree with me about the two old 'uns in the midfield. Play one but not both
Come on you RED DEVILS. I told Jacquelyn that blue is the yukky color today.
Teams about to kick off.
Morning, MUR! Should be a cracker this morning.
I do like the new "Blue Moon" ritual they're doing at Eastlands these days.
Come on Citeh, do us a favor. We'll do a favor for you against Spurs next week!
Dream day
United win
Spurs win
Gills loss
Good morning. It will be a classic if the match is anything like the fixture back on September 20th.
We're off!
And they say that education isn't about indoctrination of youth - well done, MUR!
Voom - Nigel de Jong saying "welcome to the match."
Poor first touch from Roon - get him off!
Same ref as the first match
Original ref stranded in Bulgaria because of the ash
I agree UWS. Those results would help us and hurt Citeh at the same time. And of course go Gills.
Confident start by United
A furious pace to the opening stages.
Sorry I meant go Whites beat the Gills. I am not sure what I was thinking.
Where was someone for the knock down by Roon?
Keep it up United!
Cheers, UWS! We need the three points today. I'll return the favor -
Go on, you Red Devils!
United Starting like they know they NEED this win.
cooo, that was close by Fletch
Nice hit from Fletch. Citeh under the cosh now.
Citeh's first attack and a wasted cross from Barry. We will take that all day.
That answers my main question for the morning - Mancini with the scarf still on!
United aren't letting Citeh flow at all - they're quick into every challenge.
Classic on SS
In that betting show.. I'd prefer Liverpool to be relegated than win the Championship
Never a free kick
Dangerous position... row Q please!
The scarf looks horrible. Citeh looking more menacing. What was Vidic thinking? Gibsob committing a foul in a dangerous position.
Free kick, Citeh....
Tevez to take and....
Well saved, VDS.
Nice shot by Tevez... well saved
VDS with a good save from Tevez. Carlos would love to prove a point against us today.
Valencia did a nice job tracking back to help the Neviller with Bellamy there. He'll need to do plenty of that this afternoon.
Oh - Scholes pulls the trigger but drags it wide left.
We seem to to be doing a good job of double teaming Tevez. He will chase all day and not give our defenders any time on the ball. OOh just wide by Scholes.
Scholes hits one wide
Come on United, we need a goal for reward for this start
We've played better already than the last two matches
I'm wincing every time Rooney goes down. Get him off!
Struth... Roon was in there!!
Great run by Rooney as he completely fools Kompany. Corner United.
Poor corner by Giggs cleared.Great tackle by Gibson on Bellamy.
All United !
Oh - Roon kicked out there. Should be a yellow.
De Jong making a meal out of a foul by Rooney.
Rooney needs to stop that. That is what happened against Portugal!
Johnson with a slightly heavy touch on the attempted through ball to Adebayor.
United passing well but not going anywhere
Of course, the passing has been an improvement from the last two matches
The pace of the match has finally dropped to a reasonable one.
United have lost SEVEN times this season!
Nice United attack until Gibson's shot is block. Citeh go straight up the pitch to win a corner. Citeh have been more menacing the past few minutes.
That shows you how competitive the league has been this season.
only four draws
Get. Rooney. Off!
It is difficult to win a championship with seven defeats. if we win today and Chelski lose then we are back in the race. Some scary defending on our part.
Close call there for a handball by Bridge in the area.
Giggs free kick well held by Given. A comfortable save.
I think Rooney starting is a sign that SAF has little confidence in Berbatov.
low across the box by Bellamy but now one there!
For such a good player, Bellamy has played for a hell of a lot of teams!
Norwich
Coventry
Costa
Toon
Citeh
Who else?
Useless by Evra
Bellamy has played for Newcastle United Blackburn, and the Hammers as well.
I mentioned Newcastle
Of course about Blackburn and WH
I see you already mentioned Newcastle.
Bellamy and Robbie Keane have played for so many clubs... WHY?
Bellamy played for West Ham? I don't remember that.
Citeh seeing much more of the ball as of late
I've heard that Craig is a difficult little character to deal with in the dressing room. I'm not surprised that he gets shopped about. Not sure about Robbie Keane.
Stop trying to be cutesy Giggs.. Pass the ball.. stop the little flicks
Keane has left clubs for two main reasons. At the beginning of his career it was to leave for
"bigger clubs" he left Spurs and Inter Milan to to become a regular starter.
I know he is difficult... hitting a teammate with a golf club is a dead giveaway!
Speaking of Keano, he's scored for Celtic today. It's 1-1 with Hibs right now. They definitely need a win.
MOTD2's Kevin Day tweeting from Eastlands: "Worried about Rooney - he could barely muster the energy to bawl full in the referees face."
The crowd cheers as Bellamy's cross is wasted.
Penalty to Hibs...they scored
You have to admit it - Rooney isn't right.
Close call as Vidic appears to push Tevez in the penalty area.
Does Bellamy ever react to a ref's call without effing and blinding at him?
Hey... a linesman has his eyes open
ooh, how did Rooney miss!!!
Just wide by Rooney. He should have done better. The problem is that Berbatov might not have done any better.
Sir Alex wipes off his glasses - he can't believe his eyes as Roon misses a wide open chance.
I'd have wee Mikey on for Roon in the second half - you?
Vidic's header is the best chance bar Tev's freekick!
Wasted by Scholes as a nice passing move by United comes to nothing.
Roon looks fed up
Anyone but Obertan to come on for United.
Oh - right peg, Ryan. Right peg!
Bloody Hell!!
GIGGS.... DO BETTER!!!!!
Come on Giggs You should have scored. Great skill by Valencia.
Shoot Wayne!!
Is he just rusty?
STOP THE FLICKS RYAN!
Rusty? No - he's not fit. Get him off!~
Rooney holds on to the ball too long in the penalty area and loses possession.
Half time... should have been ahead!!!
Half-time: Breathtaking stuff but no goals to show for it. 0-0.
Halftime and no score. Both teams should attack in the second half as a draw suits neither team.
Hibs take the lead at Celtic Park as Stokes scores a penalty. Now Celtic 1 Hibs 2.
Reasonably pleased with the team performance but Giggs needs to be more direct. Wayne needs a goal for his confidence.
United normally keep a good performance going in the second half.
HOPE SO
If Hibs win today and Rangers defeat Hearts tomorrow then Rangers clinch the SPL championship tomorrow. Both contests are Glasgow v Edinburgh matches.
1345: Here's a quick half-time quiz to relieve the tension: Name an English manager at a foreign club, whose name isn't Steve McClaren...
Here they come for the second half
COME ON UNITED!
What a horrible answer
Anyone guess Craig Short? The former Blackburn, Everton and Derby defender is managing Ferencvaros
Here we go.. they're off
United kick us off in the second half.
I would have never got that quiz answer, Dave. I'm glad that you put us out of our misery there.
I am going to move away from my computer for more luck... I 'll comment once a while!!
It's al my fault
Rooney is acting like Berbatov!
Great quiz question UWS. I would have never answered that question.
Celtic have tied it up
Superstitious a little, UWS?
Celtic have equalized - 2-2 in Glasgee. ManYoo old boy Fortune with the goal in the 80th minute.
Great win by Scholes who rolls it into Valencia. He should have hit a shot first time left-footed.
Neville fould by Bellamy just outside the Citeh area.Great position for a United free kick.
Giggs over the free kick and it's cleared out.
Any thoughts about possible changes, lads?
Celtic take the lead
Rooney still doesn't look right
Wasted by Giggs. United flying in with the tackles. Kompany with a cynical challenge on Rooney.
Cynical foul by Kompany draws a yellow but there are huge boos for Roon as he pops up again.
A deserved yellow for Komapny.
Drac seems to be keen on getting on.
Citeh corner as Adabayor just overruns the ball.
Valencia held back by Adam Johnson. Another yellow for Citeh.
Bellamy blows one wide left. Wasted.
It's Bellamy's turn to miss an easy chance as he slices his shot wide. United need to do a better job defending.
And Rasmussen has stuck in a third and surely a winning goal for Celtic in the 87th minute!
Nani coming on for Gibson
Way hay - my boy Nani coming on for Darren Gibson. Should have been Roon coming off though.
A United corner. Nani on for Gibson. After some early action, Gibson had little influence on the match.
A BIG HALF AN HOUR!!
WE NEED THE WIN!!
Heed my words - Nani will score.
I am...Nostrabobus!
Better from United great skill from Giggs as his cross is cleared.
That Celtic win brings them within eight points of Rangers. Still a big ask for them to win the title.
Great pass from Scholes to Nani who wins a corner.
It's still all United pressure, with Citeh looking to hit on the break. Paddy Vieira coming on to add "extra spice."
Rolling back the years as old United foe Viera ready to come on. I remember his battles with Roy Keane while playing for the Gunners.
Citeh now on the attack as they win a corner. Viera on for Adam Johnson to add some bite in midfield.
Poor corner from Bellamy cleared by United. Both teams have had difficulty with corners today.
Free kick now for Citeh....
Good ball in but well cleared.
Why didn't Evra clear that out? It was an obvious deflection.
Adebayor cross deflected for a corner. Pay attention Evra.
The announcer just mentioned that it is more likely that the game will be decided by one goal. I thought there would be more goals.
Wide by Evra. The shot lacked power.
Barry goes all floppy in the area but the ref is impassive.
Total dive - should have been a yellow for "simulation."
Roon finally off. Thank you. Drac on. Adebayor off for SWP as well.
Gareth Barry appeals for a penalty then at the other end Given blocks Giggs as he is clean through. Berbatov on for Rooney.
I am not happy with the effort in the second half
Back to the couch
Evra into the book now.
Stephen Ireland being prepared to come on.
Perhaps a late winner by United.
De Jong replaced.
Ireland on for De Jong as an attacking midfielder on for a ball winner. Mancini going for the win.
Last change for Sir Alex - Obertan. What do you make of that one, lads?
I'm surprised by the removal of Valencia. I'd have yanked one of the old boys.
Obertan on for Valencia. What is Fergie thinking? Valencia was our best player and Obertan has been totally useless in his time at United.
Wow - Spurs have Chelski today and United next weekend? What a tough run in. I'd have to say - advantage Citeh.
The announcer stating all the scenarios necessary for Chelski to clinch the title next weekend. Trying to cheer on Chelski. Can you be more biased?
That is why a draw may suit Citeh more than United.
Obertan gives away a free kick. SWP has been a pest already. Free kick Citeh now...
Obertan what were you thinking. He fouls SWR just outside the area. He definitely can't defend.
A whisker away from Onuah's head there. Wow!
Mad scramble in the United box but somehow they get it clear.
On the replay, VDS didn't look so clever there. No man's land.
Tevez free kick cleared by Evans for a corner. VDS misses the cross and a scramble in the United area eventually cleared. A scary moment for United.
Bellamy frustrated as the Neviller tackles him fairly.
Oh - why didn't Giggs attack that header?
Berbatov with great to skill to Nani whose cross just misses Giiggs' head and cleared by Viera for a corner.
At the opposite SWR shoots well wide.
Three minutes of time added on. COME ON UNITED!!!
Get it to the boy Nani!
Into stoppage time now. Come on, United!
Tevez with a through ball to Bridge who shoots straight at VDS.
Bridge hits one straight down VDS's throat.
Lat minute and United on the attack. Berbatov loses the ball.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GOAL! Scholesy - the smallest player on the pitch - has stolen it for United. Fergie time! Oh my lord! What a finish! What a finish!
Scholes with a last minute header . Incredible!!! A fantastic cross by Evra. What drama.
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!
Game over and the double ton up for us this morning. What an incredible start.
Match over. Chelski's lead down to one point. Come on Spurs.
My mistake. I was so excited that I failed to realize that Nani provided the cross. A magical moment that will be discussed for years to come.
