Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

VDS To Hang up his Boots

United officials announced today that veteran Dutch keeper Edwin Van der Saar is set to retire from footie at the end of the current season. As a result, Fergie is poised to make a move for current Dutch #1 Mark Stekelenburg. Good move or not - your thoughts, ManYoo fans?

I don't like the idea of VDS leaving OT but the Dutch #1 is a good choice I reckon

I would love to see VDS stay at OT, but he cannot play forever. However, I thought VDS had planned to play for one more season. Only Billy Meredith played for Man United at a more senior age. I think Stecklenburg would be an excellent replacement. I thought SAF was scouting a Swedish keeper.

You may be thinking of Anders Lindegaard who recently signed from Norwegian club Aalesunds for £3.5 million. And the Guardian reports that Fergie hopes to promote young Ben Amos in the coming years. However, there he must also be thinking of bringing in a new number 1. Beyond Stekelenburg, United are apparently looking at Athletico Madrid's David de Gea and Schalke's Manuel Neuer.
