Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Of course there are no televised matches this afternoon so I'm on the link for "Gillette Soccer Special:"

Here's the team news out of St. Andrews today:
Birmingham: Myhill, Carr, Caldwell, Ridgewell, Burke, King, Beausejour, Fahey, Zigic, Spector, Dvaies. Subs: Doyle, Murphy, N'Daw, Rooney, Wood.
United: Rachubka, Connolly, Lees, O'Dea, White, Snodgrass, Howson, Clayton, Pugh, McCormack, Keogh. Subs: Cairns, Kisnorbo, Vayrynen, Becchio, Forssell.
Referee: Chris Foy
Very interesting - Chris Foy, fresh off sending off Drogs and Bosingwa at the weekend officiates tonight. No love lost between the sides because of the presence of Banjo Boy, so this could get lively.
In the Carling Cup tonight:
Stoke v. Pool
Wolves v. Citeh
Blackburn v. Toon
Everton v. Chelski
We start in 5th tonight with Brum in 14th and our away form has been good. I'm cautiously hopeful.
Andy Carroll has missed a free header at the Britannia against Stoke early doors.
Ten minutes in and not a sausage going on. Indeed the GSS crowd are arguing now over the Chris Foy performance at QPR on Sunday.
Unsurprising line-up for Citeh tonight:
Pantilimo, Zabaleta, Savic, Toure, Kolarov, De Jong, Razak, Scapuzzi, Nasri, Johnson, Dzeko.
Interesting that De Jong, Nasri and Dzeko have been consigned to the Carling.
Not surprisingly, AVB doesn't have a lot of time or respect for the English footballing traditions:
Turnbull, Ivanovic, Luiz, Alex, Bertrand, Malouda, Romeu, McEachran, Anelka, Lukaku, Kalou
That Front Row link was getting mucked up so I'm onto the "Sky Sports News" link at My Premium TV now.
Leeds are apparently on top. Snoddy has just had a shot fizz by the post.
Wolves have a chance tonight at Molineux and they're on top. That would serve Mancini right to lose in a tournament that actually means more than he can understand.
Oh dear - Tony Cottee thinks that Brum have been the better side.
Sorensen has just bailed Stoke out in a one-on-one with Suarez.
Hibs are 1-0 over Celtic in the Scottish Cup Quarter final match tonight.
Le Tiss thinks the ref needs to be shot for missing a Kolarov hand-ball in the area.
But now Wolves have scored and deservedly take the lead. Does that mean now that Wolves would beat United 7-1 at Old Trafford? Just kidding, lads. I can get away with that kind of cheap shot while the United lads are away, right?
I keep following the text coverage on 365 and it seems as if we've had most of the good chances against Brum but perhaps the home side has edged the possession?
Rochina has put Blackburn 1-0 up over the Toon.
Half an hour gone in the Brum v. Leeds match and it's still 0-0. A draw tonight would anchor our position in 5th a point ahead of Derby.
Oh - Bily had a chance to open the scoring against Chelski.
Celtic are back in that quarter final match. James Forrest with the goal.
Citeh are level through Adam Johnson!
BUGGGGGERRRRRRR!
Zigic has scored the opener for Brum.
1-0
Still in 5th even after that goal but level on points with Derby now but at +5 goals. Come on!
Nasri has added a second goal for Citeh. Johnson laid it on for him and he drilled past De Vries easily.
It's 1-3 now!
Dzeko latches onto a ball in the area blocked out and hammers home the rebound.
I'd love a goal back before the interval. About five minutes to play at the moment.
Apparently we've continued to have chances coming up to half-time. We need to convert these.
Celtic are now 1-2 up - Forrest with a brace.
Kenwynne Jones has put Stoke 1-0 up at the Britannia.
Great save by Rachubka right at the death of the first half. 1-0 Brum as the sides troop into the dressing rooms.
Second halfs are starting up now.
Citeh have gone 1-4 up. Can they better their tally on Sunday? Scapuzzi with his debut goal from a rebound off the keeper.
Snoddy with another great effort from distance.
No changes at half-time from Grayson.
Celtic are now 1-4 up and home and hosed in the Cup Quarter Final.
Citeh nearly got a fifth through Dzeko there.
Luis Suarez has scored for Pool and Big Nose Phil is cock a hoop about it in the background.
1-1
Tony Cottee is impressed by us but it's still 1-0 Brum. They're allowing us to attack them and trying to absorb the pressure.
I didn't notice it but Chelski scored while I was away from the laptop at half time through Kalou.
0-1 Blues.
1-5 Citeh - Dzeko with the latest goal. Game over.
Coming up on the hour mark - it's got to be about time for some changes.
2-5 now at Molineux. Bloody hell - are there any defenders on the pitch there? Jamie O'Hara has come on and scored.
I'd like to see Luciano Becchio, the hero from Saturday, on shortly.
There it is from Simon, right on cue. Becchio on for Keogh. Nice one!
Come on, El Torrero!
Celtic have finished 1-4 winners at Hibernian.
Chris Wood is now on for Marlon King for Brum.
Wow - Ross Turnbull has been sent off for Chelski - they're down to ten men. And Everton have a pen. Great chance for them to win it.
Luis Saha to take the pen against Petr Cech who has just come on....
And Cech has saved the pen...twice!
Twenty minutes left at St. Andrews. Come on, you Whites!
Yakubu with the chance to put Blackburn 2-0 up....
He dispatches the pen!
Apparently Leeds and Brum are cancelling each other out. Shame.
Lloyd Sam is on now for us - not sure who's gone off.
Andy Carroll has put Pool 1-2 up at the Britannia.
Inside the final ten minutes now at St. Andrews - still 1-0 Brum.
Come on, you Leeds boys!!
Simon Grayson has made all of his changes now with Becchio, Sam and Varynen all on for the final minutes. Come on!
Oh - McCormack with a thirty yarder that Boaz Myhill had to tip over.
My mistake - it's my GBB Luis Suarez who has a brace tonight. But he's picked up a knock and has gone off for Dirk Kuyt.
I can't even count how many shots Snoddy has had on goal tonight. Surely one of these has to hit the back of the net! Come on!
Last minute of regular time - two shouts for penalties recently. Nothing doing from Chris Foy.
Leeds finishing strong now according to Tony Cottee.
Come on!
Man Citeh have beaten Wolves 2-5 in the end.
Into stoppage time at St. Andrews. We need another miraculous late, late goal.
Oh - Rachubka has just saved us. Corner to Brum. We need to get it back up the pitch.
Just a minute left of stoppage time at St. Andrews. Come on, you Leeds boys!
Liverpool are through to the 5th round as well. 2-0 over Stoke.
Bugger! All over at St. Andrews. We've spurned the chance to jump up to 3rd. Still in 5th at present. Brum up to 8th but with two matches in hand.
Looks as if Chelski are going to hang on to their lead to go through to the 5th round as well. Lots of big sides still in the competition.
Well, that's my lonely vigil at an end. Shame about our result today. Onward we go to the weekend. MOT!
