Champions League Gameday 3!
Way hay - the Champions League is back this week! First up today are the two Manc teams with Citeh hosting Villareal and United on a wild road trip to Romania to visit Galati. There is also a full schedule of Championship matches today, including Leeds at home to Coventry. Three points, please lads. Unfortunately, as it's a Tuesday, I'll be missing most of it, but I'll look forward to reading your thoughts here.

Best of luck to your United
I hope my United get a win. They are currently in third place, two points out of qualification
I won't be around either and I will have no way of finding out the scores until I get to the college.
I have a math department meeting and then I rush off to Matt's game. I then go straight to the college.

Really unhappy that we gave up that lead at the death. Great to see Darren O'Dea on the scoresheet though. His first one for the club. Ah well - one more point earned - 18 now, 32 to get for survival.
I'm back on Wednesday afternoon, having successfully slipped off campus and back to Blue Devil HQ.
It's Arsenal v. Marseille this afternoon.
Here's the team news out of Marseille tonight:

Subs: Fabianski, Ramsey, Djourou, Gervinho, Chamakh, BEnayoun, Coquelin
Referee: Damir Skomina (Slovenia)
As usual I'll be trying to avoid the scores from Group H, so I can enjoy the Barca v. Viktoria Plzen match at 5pm on FSC.
That's odd - I usually rely on the Guardian for their line-ups but some wise-ass at the paper seems to have replaced "Rosicky" with "Meh" for this afternoon. Very funny, lads.
In the other Brit match tonight, Chelski are at home to Genk.
A point should due Arsenal tonight as they kick off in the Stade Velodrome. That would put Marseille on 7pts and Arsenal on 5pts from three matches, wtih Dortmund and Olympiacos trailing.
That's a blow for Arsenal. Song gives up the ball in midfield and is forced to tackle back and picks up a yellow early doors.
Useful free kick position for Marseille here...
Valbuena takes and it's straight at Szcesny.
Well, that puts some pressure on these two teams. Olympiacos have scored early on against Dortmund.
Blimey - Chelski are 2-0 up already! Goals from Meireles and Torres.
Now it's Andre Santos into the book - this indiscipline could really hurt the Gunners down the road in this match.
Oh - RVP has one cleared off the line. Best spell of the match here from the Arse.
Porto are at 1-1 with Apoel FC now. Goals from Hulk and Ailton, both ironically Brazilian.
Hello BD How are you?I am here to join for you for a few minutes before I have to teach a class.
Shakhtar are at 1-0 over Zenit through a goal from Willian.
Hiya, MUR! Great to hear from you. How's your week been?
Barca lead Plzen 1-0 and Olympiakos lead Dortmund 1-0.
Barca lead Plzen 1-0 and Olympiakos lead Dortmund 1-0.
In the Championship, Leicester have taken a 1-0 lead over Watford and have leapfrogged us into 9th place. Of course we still have that match in hand, which looks to be scheduled for next Wednesday when the Carling Cup 4th Round is on.
It's been extremely busy even by my standards. It should slow down starting tomorrow. We finally have some cooler weather. A front came through and it was in the low 50s this morning. It is now 80 degrees outside with very little humidity and a nice breeze.Perfect for being outdoors today.
I expect Barca to win handily today. That's the tape delayed match on FSC at 5pm today.
Sheffield United lead 0-1 at Preston while Dortmund have tied it up at Olympiakos.
Sounds nice. I'm sure that you were delighted by the result yesterday.
That's good news for these two.
If I don't improve with my predictions then I may be playing in the Sheffield Derby.
Yes I was. It was a much needed win. Sorry about your result yesterday.
Chelski now lead Genk 3-0.
Valencia have taken the lead at Bayer Leverkusen.
It was disappointing to give up the late goal. That would have been our third clean sheet on the trot.
Prston have tied it up vs The Blades. Bob will be pleased.
I am always pleased when the Blades concede.
AVB will be particularly pleased that Torres has scored a brace today.
If I don't improve in the prediction standings then I will play the Blades; silverware or no silverware.
Hey Boys,
I am here for a while before I go off to another game... in the rain
I have the Arse on FSC and Barca on MSGplus
It's about time Torres started scoring some goals. The last time he scored, he fouled a player to the point that it was nearly assault.
Hello UWS. I need to leave soon. It is sunny and 80 in South Texas today and practically no humidity.
Heya, UWS - great to hear from you.
I think it's an usual week, MUR. Citeh won't be top for long IMHO and some of the sides are playing above their heads. Newcastle won't be in the top four and Stoke won't be in the top seven for long.
I am very sorry, but my last class is about to start, so I will need to depart. It was great chatting. See you bright and early.
CHEERS BD AND UWS.
Zenit have equalized against Shakhtar. So lots of goals elsewhere - not so much here at the Stade Velodrome.
Have a great class, mate!
I meant bright and early on Saturday.
CHEERS!
Andre Santos is walking a tightrope now on a yellow and building up the fouls.
Yes - big match early Saturday. Leeds at Posh at 6am your time, 7am ours.
Milan have just taken the lead
Shame about your lot last night with a 92+ equalizer!!
How about all the comments last week??
1040 comments on Saturday and Sunday PLUS 135 from Friday night!
Boy, we're boring people!
Take care MUR
Not at all - just excited by the footer.
I was disappointed by yesterday's draw. We should have had three points in the bag, which would have moved us back up in the playoff slots.
Our old boy Jermaine Beckford has notched a second goal for the Foxes today. 2-0 over Watford at present.
Half-time then at the Velodrome. Bit of a bore that was really.
Half time with Arsenal playing like United
I am not liking how my lot are playing.
Started off well but have struggled since the Chelsea match!
Didn't play well against Stoke, Norwich, Liverpool or ANY of our three CL games
Chelsea are four up at half.. Ivanovic
Chelsea are starting to scare me!
They started off pretty slow and seem to be on a roll now
Former England boss Graham Taylor at Stade Velodrome on BBC Radio 5 live:"It's been a disappointing game because both teams have lacked concentration. Neither side are playing to their full potential."
Still don't know about Tom's game
I am not sure if they will know tonight or tomorrow night
THe message says the meeting is Wednesday but it also says Oct. 20
Keep me in touch with it. I do have tickets for a musical that a friend has directed at 8pm here in Fred-town but otherwise I'm free.
Arsenal get us started in the second half. Again - a point would probably be a good result for both sides.
Sadly, I have to leave for the game
Let's hope for an Arsenal win
TTFN
Enjoy the match tonight, rain not withstanding.
Leverkusen have come back with two goals early in the half to lead Valencia 2-1. A crucial result there.
2-2 between Shakhtar and Zenit.
We can see why Marseille haven't given up a goal in CL group matches so far this season. They are tighter than a tick, organized by that old water carrier Didier Deschamps. What a bore!
Gervinho has looked really lively since coming on and almost crafted a goal for RVP there. Good save.
GOAL!
Aaron Ramsey has come off the bench to win it!
0-1!
Djourou did so well to pick out the ball to Ramsey, who controlled and slammed home. This will just about ensure qualification for the next round.
That's it. The Marseille fans are livid but Arsenal and Wenger are delighted as they come off the bench.
