Champions League Gameday 4!
You know you're in the doghouse with Fergie when you get a run out at Old Trafford against Galati in the Champions League group stages. I'll be following proceedings on FSC but my full attention will be on the Championship cracker at Elland Road between the Whites and Blackpool. We're an hour back today, with kick-off at 3:45pm EST, so I'm hoping to be joined by some of you as you finish your workdays.

After yesterday's Championship matches, we're still miraculously in 7th, so we have a chance to jump as high as 4th, edging out Palace on goal difference if we win by a couple of goals.
Kick-off time at Old Trafford then.
Roon is looking particularly Shrek like tonight with his new haircut.
Derby and Cardiff is the other fixture tonight in the Championship.
Citeh have an potentially tricky fixture away to Villareal tonight who are rooted to the bottom of the table and will be in search of points to stay in the hunt.
Earlyish free kick oppo for United now. It's a short training pitch effort that would frustrate UWS if he weren't stuck teaching algebra right now.
GOAL! Valencia with exactly the start that United would have wanted. That'll settle the nerves.
Easy peasy there. Phil Jones out wide right swings a ball into the near post where Wee Mikey had made a run. He put off the other defenders and left Valencia to tap home.
There's some odd interference on the audio feed out of United. It almost sounds as if a helicopter is hovering over the stadium. Bizarre.
Oh dear - wee Mikey has picked up an early knock and has come off to be replaced by Chicharito.
There's a slight buzzzing in my ear.....blech!
Still no other scores in the afternoon's other matches.
Jones is really proving to be an excellent attacking outlet. He played a lovely ball wide to Valencia there. The cross in was too high for Chicha.
BUGGGGGGGGGERRRRRR!!!!!
Our rubbish defending continues. Tresor LuaLua with Blackpool's opening goal at ER.
Apparently Owen over-extended his thigh muscle on the near post during the goal move and came off more as an precaution than anything else.
The buzzing, echo-effect noise has ended, thankfully.
SuperMario Gomez has scored for Bayern against Napoli.
In the other match in Group C, Benfica are 1-0 up over Basel.
Ajax have just scored through Van der Wiel against Dinamo Zagreb.
Evil Cardiff have taken the lead at Derby, so we're down in the dumps in 8th now.
Good afternoon BD.My students are taking a test, so I cannot be on a link. I am sorry to hear about the score at Bloomfield Road. Is it still 0-0 at OT?
I read the rest of the comments and see that Valencia gave us the lead. Is it still 1-0?
In our group, Benfica leads Basel 1-0 and in Citehs group Bayern leads Napoli 2-0.
STRUTH!!! Blackpool now lead 0-2 at ER.
Bayern are 2-0 up now - Gomez with a brace. That's helping out Citeh, whose main rival in the group must be Napoli. But Citeh really need a win tonight.
Walter Samuel has nodded Inter in front against Lille.
Inter lead Lille 1-0
Real Madrid lead 0-1 at Lyon. These teams meet every year in the CL
Ajaz lead Dynamo Zagreb 2-0
Afternoon, MUR! I didn't see you come on there. Yes - United are in cruise control at 1-0. Galati aren't putting up much of a challenge.
We need a win. If the results stand, United and Benfica will be battling for first and second place.
We're actually playing at Elland Road this afternoon and it's now bloody 0-2 Blackpool. I do not know what on earth is going on. But Shelvey has just converted a penalty that was conded by Patrick Kisnorbo who's really having a 'mare of a season.
Good to have you on board, albeit temporarily.
Citeh have taken the lead at Villareal. Good news for Citeh who as you stated need this win.
Thanki you,BD. I should be on board until about 5:05 Pm EDT.
Blackpool now lead 0-3 at ER.
I am very sorry,Bob.
Yaya Toure with the goal for Citeh at Villareal. That is excellent news for them. As usual it's David Silva at the center of it running into the left side of the box before dishing off to Toure to drill home from 15 yards.
It's another bloody penalty converted by Jonjo Shelvey. Are we just handing the match to the Tangerines! I ask you!
We've now contrived to allow Blackpool to hop over us on bloody goal difference. Honestly!
Shelvey must be on loan from Liversox.
COME ON YOU WHITES!
The last two weeks are ones that we could basically forget. Two points from four matches including two at home!
Chicha was away there but the defender did well.
That is true. Leeds really need a goal ASAP. Simon Grayson wanted a good result agaimst the team he previously managed.
I can't really see it. Even if we were to claw ourselves back to 3-3 through a monumental effort, a point at home to Blackpool hardly does us much good.
Wow - what a save from De Gea off balance due to the deflected shot!
This game at OT has gotten all a bit farcical in recently minutes.
Byaern lead Napoli 3-0. It's a good night for Citeh.
I am rcording it so I will watch it this evening. I will definitley want to see that save.
I think a 3-3 result would inspire confidence even though it doesn't benefit your team too much
That's a hat-trick for SuperMario. I've never really rated him at least on the international scene, but I have to admit that he does rattle in his fair share of goals for Bayern.
I suppose you're probably right. I suspect that Paddy Kisnorbo has played his last match for the first team this season.
Napoli have just scored , but trail Bayern 3-1.
Half-time at OT - the score-line should be more exaggerated but United really haven't been troubled.
I am sorry to hear that, but he seems to be injuty prone.
Someone needs to inform Alan Parry that Galati is pronounced something like "Galatsch."
It gets better for Citeh as they take a 0-2 lead at Villarreal deep into stoppage time.
Citeh lead 0-2 at halftime.
Leeds trail 0-3 at halftime. Here is hoping for some second half goals from the whites.
Why always him? It's Balo the firestarter with a penalty right on the stroke of half-time for Citeh.
Back on at half-time then. That was odd - a short burst of SS's own Jeff Stelling as we got back to the match. Alan Parry and Butch Wilkins at OT tonight .
I should be around for another fifteen to twenty minutes, when I have to go to a meeting prior to heading home.
We're back on at Elland Road as well. How much worse can it get for us?
Glad to have the pleasure of your company, mate.
Thanks, BD.I hope both our United score loads of second half goals.
Let's hope.
If anything, Galati have come out a bit more adventurous in this second half. And why not? It was looking over and out.
More weirdness with the audio quality. FSC had muted the crowd in the first half but now they're roaring. I prefer it that way.
I hope not. Galti's conservative style will suit United.
Looks as if there is a nasty, cold rain coming down at OT now.
Costin did well there to save off the line.
Oh - Phil Jones with another terrific ball over and Chicha should have done better with that one.
Still no seocnd half goals . How odd!
Still 0-3 at Elland Road and of course we're down to ten men. Not surprisingly, Grayson has made some early changes. Becchio has come on for Keogh as he has done recently and we've also changed keepers - Rachubka off and third string keeper Alex Cairns is on.
It has been rather quiet around the matches in the second half.
Great ball from Roon to Drac but he was too easily nudged off the ball.
I was not impressed with Rachubka on Sunday. I guess he has nothing to lose by bringing on an Untried youngster. It will be great to see Lonergan back.
EVil Cardiff now lead 0-2 at Pride Park and Inter have taken a 2-0 lead vs Lille.
I disagree with Butch Wilkins. You don't play Roon for his work rate, you play him to create something magic out of nothing.
Not good news for us at Pride Park.
Ajax now lead Dyanmo Zagreb 3-0.
Agreed - Rachubka is not the real deal. Don't know anything about Cairns.
Blackpool now lead 0-4 at ER. I am so sorry,Bob.
Well - that's torn it. 0-4 Blackpool.
Argh!
Basel Have tied it up at Benfica. I think that works for United as long as Basel do not win.
I'm writing this one off. It's purely damage control now. We're at 22 points and +1 GD. 28 points to get for safety. That's our priority.
Yes - a draw is a perfect result for you in Portugal tonight .
I have to go to that pesky meeting. It was great chatting with you. I will chat with you again on Saturday.
CHEERS!
Oh dear - Drac straight into the side netting. He's a bit rusty.
Cheerio, mate. Nice chatting with you.
We're 10th now having dropped below managerless Leicester on GD.
Ruddy Norah - 0-5 Blackpool!
Shelvey's got himself a hat-trick at our expense.
And Evil Cardiff are now at 0-3.
Yaya has added a third for Citeh. Very impressive result there.
Napoli meanwhile have got another back at Bayern to put the jitters in the home crowd.
Diego Milito has added a second goal for Inter.
Ronaldo has a brace now for Real.
And Ajax are 3-0 up.
GOAL! Roon - 2-0!
Roon hits a speculative shot that takes a hideous deflection off the defender and goes straight in.
Varynyen has come on for Leeds for what it's worth. What do you say after a result like this?
Evans comes off and some lad named Fryers has come on - 19 year old making his debut.
You know, it is possible that Alex Cairns isn't the keeper for us tonight and that we have put Paul Connolly in goal instead. Crikey!
It looks like Blackpool are basically lining up for target practice now.
Blow up, ref!
Into stoppage time, then.
That's it then. 2-0. A bit of a bore. The reason why the group stage of the CL is so useless.
And that's for me too. A horror show at Elland Road this afternoon. Must do better at the weekend.
Sorry about your United, Bob
My United were hopeless!!!!
