Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

I've got a lovely link for Gillette Soccer Special up through First Row:

I've got my eye firmly focused on Elland Road today. It's been a long time since we had a win in front of our home support. It's Coventry today - I want three points!
The line-ups at Elland Road:
United: Lonergan, Smith, Lees, O'Dea, Pugh, Snodgrass, Delph, Clayton, White, McCormack, Becchio. Subs: M Taylor, O'Brien, Brown, Nunez, Townsend.
Coventry: Murphy, Keogh, Cranie Clarke, Christie, Baker, Deegan, Norwood, Platt, McSheffrey, Nimely Subs: Eastwood, Dunn, Bigirimana, Ruffels, Willis.
Referee: P Miller
The two Champions League fixtures today:
Leverkusen v. Barca
Lyon v. Apoel FC
The big match in the Championship tonight is West Ham v. Soton - 1 v. 2 - at Upton Park.
Kick-off time - come on, you Whites!
Early chance for the Hammers - great save from Davies.
Bugger - Burnley have taken the lead against Barnsley - that will take them above us into 10th - we'll drop to 11th on 46 points.
Bugger, bugger - The Blades are 0-1 up at Huddersfield.
Watford have taken the lead against Leicester - I don't think that affects us at all.
Another big match in the Championship tonight - Brum in 3rd v. Hull in 6th. It's that kind of competitive league.
I've just noticed that we're away from home tonight at the Ricoh. That might actually work in our favor - we're rubbish at home at the moment. Must win for us.
Leicester are back in it at Vicarage Road. 1-1 there.
Ipswich have taken the lead at Pompey - again that doesn't really affect the top half of the table.
No goals in the Champions League as of yet 15 minutes in.
Palace are 1-0 up against Bristol City. Calamity and co are right up against it!
The Hammers have a penalty! Mark Noble was brought down in the area.
Oh - there's a fracas in the area involving Matty Taylor and Billy Sharpe - Taylor has been sent off!
Hammers are 1-0 up but down to ten men.
Bugger - Blackpool are 0-1 up against woeful Donny. That doesn't help.
The Foxes are 1-2 up now and just up into the top half.
BUGGGGGGGERRRRRR!!!!
Danny Pugh has bundled over a Coventry player in the box and they've got a penalty.
Of course, it's our old boy Gary McSheffrey to take...and scores.
1-0 Sky Blues - oh dear.
Down to 12th - grrrrrrr!
YESSSSSS!!!!!!!
We're back in it at the Ricoh - and it's that man Ross McCormack with his 17th goal.
1-1.
And Watford have equalized - it's 2-2 there with Leicester, which helps a bit.
Still no goals in the Champions League matches - not much quality there.
Cardiff are 2-0 up against Posh.
Barca have broken through at Leverkusen.
3-0 Cardiff!
Just coming up on half time in the 7:45pm GMT kickoffs.
Second half action just about to get underway.
I'm off to set up my classroom for my 4:30 class, which probably means that we'll be 3-1 down by the time I get back to my desk.
Come on!
I'm back at the 75th minute mark and we're still locked at 1-1. We've switched Michael Brown for Fab Delph, which I hope means that we're pushing for the win.
Barca now 1-2 up - a brace from Alexis Sanchez.
And Lyon are 1-0 up at home to Apoel.
Soton have leveled it against West Ham in the table topping clash.
Hello BD. Sorry I couldn't join you , but I was swamped with work today as we have to export progress reports by Thursday and I was dealing with a purchse order. In the CL, Barca won 1-3 at Bayern and Lyon dfetated Apoel Nicosia 1-0. In the Europa League, Olymiacos won 0-1 at Rubin Kazan and Besiktas won 0-2 at Braga, last year's runners up. I am sorry to say that your Whites lost 2-1 to bottom club Coventry thanks to two penaalties by old boy , Gary McSheffrey. The winner was scored in stoppage time. The top clubs drew and the other teams in the playoff positions won, so it was not a good night. Again , I am sorry aand wish Leeds better this weekend. It is a tough start for Neil Redfearn. I say that Plymouth drew 0-0 with Barnet and that is another point, but they really need three at this stage. I might jopin you tomorrow, but will definitley be around this weekend . Cheers!
Hiya, MUR - thanks for dropping in. It's another bad day for Leeds fans with our succumbing to bottom of the table Coventry. And of course it had to be McSheffrey who stuck the blade in. Bugger!
I'm back on Wednesday afternoon to follow the afternoon's action up to the start of my 4pm class.
We've got another two Champions League knock-out matches today. The big one is obviously Arsenal at the San Siro to meet Milan.
In the earlier Eastern European CL action, Zenit have squeaked out a 3-2 win against Benfica.
Fifteen minutes in and still 0-0 in the big CL match-up tonight.
Seedorf has had to come off for a hamstring strain.
GOAL! Boateng has scored a miracle goal off the top of the crossbar and in.
1-0 Milan!
Good afternoon,BD. I can join you for a few minutes before my last class starts.
I missed the goal. This must be the Boateng that formerly played for Pompey and Spurs.
I missed the goal. This must be the Boateng that formerly played for Pompey and Spurs.
I saw the replay . A great goal. A superb pass and great finish.
Nearly 2-0 as Noceriono shot just high and wide.
Afternoon, MUR - yes, it was a cracking goal by Kevin Prince Boateng.
Nigel Winterburn isn't terribly happy with the Arsenal defensive performance.
Texas Education reached a new low yesterday as the legislature wants to change the rules for a new standardized test in the middle of the school year. A first in the nation as far as I know. I will post on LOB tonight and you may want to share with your students after reading the post.ONLY IN TEXAS! A debacle even by Perry's standards.
They have been flat, but if they can keep the score at 1-0 then they are still in this tie. Spurs eliminated Milan in this round last year.
Arsenal win a corner as Rosicky's pass attempeted for Ramsey was deflected out.Boateng heads out the corner from Arteta.
Sloppy by Kos , but fortunately Zlatan was several yards offside off a great through ball. That's twice in a minute for Zlatan.
Robinho keeps trying these fancy chips and they end up being nothing more than passes to Szezny.
Nocerino tries an ambitious volley and misses the target by a mile off a great cross from Emmanuelson.
A war of words between Kos and Zlatan. it was stray arm that caught Zlatan in the eye. It was unintentional.
GOAL !!!! 2-0 MILAN AS ZALTAN WENT DOWN THE LEFT UNCHALLENGED AND CROSSED FOR ROBINHO TO FINISH EASILY IN THE SIX YARD BOX WITH A HEADER.
Sorry to hear about that Texas educational debacle, but I'm not surprised given what's going on across the country.
It is definitely an uphill battle for the Gunners to stay in this competition.
Oh dear - Arsenal are really up against it now. 2-0 down before half-time.
Thanks BD. It's confusing for the teachers.
I am very sorrry, but class is about to start , so I will catch you later. It was great chatting with you.
Cheerio, mate!
2-0 Milan at the interval. Wenger has to come up with some quick ideas here.
I'm just back at my break and Milan have run out 4-0 winners in the San Siro today. Catastrophic for the Gunners. Condolences to the Gooner.
OH DEAR for the Arse and the Premier League
Both Manc teams out
Arse virtually out
Only Chelsea to with a shot and they're the worst of the lot!
Condolences Gooner... glad I got the ticket before this result. Thanks again for that
Not a good week so far the Dahlgren boys.
Let's hope the United boys do better tomorrow in Holland at 1 pm!
