Come on, You Hammers!
I'll be blowing pretty bubbles in the air this morning as the Happy Hammers take on Neil Warnock's Evil Leeds. We need a major Hammering to put another nail in Warnock's regime and hasten his departure from my beloved LUFC. Unfortunately, I holed up in Philly overnight as those numpties at US Air couldn't pull their fingers out and get me on a connecting flight home to Buffalo. That means I may be, well, a bit in and out in the morning. Enjoy the matches and I'll check in when I can. Come on, you Irons!

We start with an FA Cup Quarterfinal at Goodison Park between Everton and Sunderland. Since I picked Everton to win the cup and I need the points in the PPP standings it's
COME ON YOU TOFFEES
It's Moyes vs O'Neill as two of the top managers in the EPL pit wits.It should be a fascinating match.
I love it. The two captains are ex United players as the Little Neviller and O'Shea are up for the coin toss.
And we're off!
Sunderland have an early free kick as Distin fouls Frazier Campbell.
McLean heads wide as Seb Larsson took the free kick.
OH! Leon Osman headed just over as Seamus Coleman put in a tasty cross as Hair Bear did well to send him down the right.
McLean wins a Sunderland corner.
Tim Cahill heads out a corner from Larsson for another corner.
John O;Shea and Heitinga are called over by the ref for pushing. Now the corner from Larsson is cleared, but Sunderland win back the ball.
Useless by Drenthe as he put in a poor cross and when a poor clearance made it back to him he couldn't control the ball.
The Little Neviller receives the first booking of the match as he fouls Coleman
The free kick from Larsson is cleared.
Prior to the free kick Everton should have had a penalty as Gardener tripped Drenthe in the box.
Another Sunderland free kick.
GOAL !!!! 0-1 SUNDERLAND AS PHIL BARDSLEY SCORES WITH A GREAT FINISH AS ONE UNITED PLAYER SCORES PAST ANOTHER . IT TOOK A SLIGHT DEFLECTION. HIS FIRST GOAL OF THE SEASON.
Bardsley scored directly off the free kick and hit it well.Everton were bound to be caught out after conceding so many free kicks early on? Will this cost me in the PPP Standings?.
McLean wins a corner after Everton conceded possession just outside the box.
The corner from Larsson is headed away.Sunderland have had far too may set pieces early on for my liking. Now McLean shoots just over from a cross off the resulting throw.
Ironic cheers from the fans as Bardsley concedes a free kick just outside the box.
BLOODY HELL! Everton have all those set piece experts and Heitinga takes the free kick. Now wonder why it ended up near the corner flag.
Useless by Tim Cahill as Drenthe now concedes a foul.
Useless free kick by Seb Larsson.
Morning MUR
I woke a tad late this morning but I turned the TV on a split second after the goal... the atmosphere is great!
New TV.. another goal!
Cahill ties it up
GOAL !!!! 1-1 AS HEADER BY JELAVIC IS DEFLECTED OFF OF tIM CAHILL'S HEAD
A great cross by Leighton Baines that led to the goal.
To be honest this came against the run of play as Sunderland had been the better side.
Good morning UWS. There's a lot of ex United players on the pitch today, but sadly United are out of the cup.
BD wants us to blow bubbles after this cup tie.I am cheering for the Toffees since I picked them to win the cup in the PPP
Big Nik is deservedly booked for that needless push on the Little Neviller. No need for that.
Everton win a corner off of Turner.
Bob is full of it... Leeds all the way for him!
Did you get a chance to watch that QPR show... fascinating stuff. The only person that didn't come out looking like an idiot was Warnock
The short corner routine from the training session needs more rehearsal as it was an obvious flop.
why is Heitinga complaining as that was an obvious booking due to a poor challenge on McLean.
The free kick is easily headed away, then Jelavic shoots wide from a difficult angle.
I did not get a chance , but I will watch it this weekend. I was gone most of the day yesterday then went bicycle shopping and got home late.
I Wonder if Bob is still at the Philly airport I feel bad for him and hope he got a chance to try one of those delicious Philly cheese steaks.
Leon Osman wins an Everton corner.
Mignolet saved from Heitinga , nut the header was straight at him, then Distin blazed over when he really should have put Everton in front.
I will watch it. Sounds like a great watch. Is that the six part video?I had been planning to buy a bike for seven years and finally followed through.
Yes, it is the six parter
Warnock smarter than the Italians. Probably so.
The rain is pouring down at Goodison Park.
I added another comment to your post about the Europa League. There are some PPP implications as my Athletico Madrid could face your Sporting or Gooner's Schalke in the final. You and Gooner could be battling it out in the semi with yours truly waiting for the winner.
Here's a link for Soccer Saturday
http://coolsportz.de/stream7.php
Of course, they will ignore the FA Cup
Are you going to watch Leeds vs West Ham on streaming video after this match?
There are not any FA Cup matches at 11.There is a late Fa Cup match at 1:30.Great save by Mignolet off the free kick from Drenthe
The other FA Cup match is Spurs vs Bolton at 1:30
Only two perm games today
Wigan and WBA are on FSC
FSC+(which I still have for some reason) is showing Rangers losing to Dundee Utd 1-0.... that is followed by Leeds United vs West Ham. That's the one I am going to watch
FSC are showing that second match too
I don't get +, so I will watch a link as I will be watching the same match.
I will watch that.
Useless Everton corner.
A late Sunderland corner.
I am running solo this weekend with Kathy and Thomas in Charlotte this weekend. I am taking Jon to flag football tomorrow morning... I hope to back for most of the United match
half time
It's 1-1 at the half as I was booted off due to a scheduling conflict.
It's 1-1 at the half as I was booted off due to a scheduling conflict.
I still don't know why I get Plus... it was first given as a sorry for losing MSG and was supposed to be only for a month... it is still going. My HD Plus isn't working but I don't want to call and rock the boat!
Hope Kathy and Thomas have a great time in Charlotte.I was flying solo all day Thursday as the wife kids were up at my in-laws and I picked them up yesterday morning.I am sure you will be pleased to see everyone back home.
I agree. what they don't know won;t hurt them.
Interesting that Bob was stuck in Philly. We went out to eat at Cheddars and the missus and I each had a Philly cheese steak. I bet they weren't as tasty as the ones in Philly.I hope Bob made it back home.
The second half ha s begun at Goodison.
Was Bob stuck in Philly or just a lay over
McLean shoots tamely at Timmy to start the second half.
It sounds like he was stuck at Philly . He posted at 3 AM and seemed to be upset at U.S. Air.He sated that they couldn't get him a connecting flight back to Buffalo.
That seemed soft by Hair Bear on McLean by the corner flag.
Curled just over by Larsson off the free kick.
Battle for the Wooden Spoon in the Six Nations is being played right now
Looks like it is the Scottish to 'win' the spoon!
Italy lead 10-3 in the second half
DUKE LOST TO LEHEIGH LAST NIGHT!! 15 beating a 2... very upset! I am Syracuse and Duke fan. Matt is a big Duke fan. It is like me and United. I feel bad for him
He should fly to Albany!
Rangers are down 2 nil to Dundee U
I guess it is a very inexperienced team out there. It is stunning that a countries Champion and always successful get in that kind of state
Wonder what the odds are for Celtic to win NEXT season's title?
That is a bid shock. Coach K must be furious. My condolences to you and Matt.I agree. Bob should fly to Albany.
Big Nik is flagged offside as that goal is called back.
I would say that anyone betting against Celtic could be in for a big pay day similar to the lotto if for some reason the Gers manage to win it next season.
How is it that Scotland can't beat Italy in Rugby. I can understand tennis, but not excuse for rugger.
Now the sun is out at Goodison when it was raining in the first half.I wonder if it is raining on the other side of Stanley Park?
Turner heads away for a corner from a cross by Jelavic.
Cahill shot at Mignolet as the corner was superbly headed down by Hair Bear. Cahill seemed surprised that the ball made it out to him.
Rangers get a goal back at Tannadice
If I bet five quid on Rangers winning the SPL next season and they manage to do it then I may be able to quit teaching?
Rugby update 10-6
Is a comeback on for the Jocks against the Azzuri?
The Nocito Sports center on top of things as always. Bob will not be pleased.
HaIr Bear won a free kick after he won a great tackle just outside his box.
It's worth a bet
I always wanted to (but never did) put a bet on the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series in 2015! They have looked miles away but have just gotten a new GM and things may change BUT the reason I wanted to put a bet on them was because in Back to the Future 2... the Cubs won the World Series against Miami... Florida Marlins changed their names to Miami this year! Shame they're both in the National League!!
Headed just over by Jelavic off the free kick from Baines.
Sounds like a good wager, UWS.
Good story about Dempsey on Soccer Saturday
Merse thinks he could play for any of the top four teams.
Do you think he could play for United?
Interesting thought. Scores many goals
OH! that looked like a handball by O' Shea in the box. Moyes will feel that Everton have been denied two clear cut penalties.
I would love to see Clint on United. He would probably split playing time with Scholes.
Distin is booked for a foul on Frazier Campbell as the ex Citeh player clatters the ex United player.
I'll be back in bit... gotta take a shower.
The TV will be on in the room so i won't miss much
Be back soon
Now Distin heads out for a corner off the free kick.
Cheers UWS. Nice and squeaky clean!
Jelavic heads straight to Mignolet.
Seamus Coleman receives a standing ovation as he is replaced by Magaye Gueye.
That is three consecutive useless crosses by the Toffees.
COME ON YOU TOFFEES
nOW sUNDERLAND COUNTER WITH A CHANGE OF THEIR OWN AS David Vaughan is on for Frazier Campbell.
Bloody Norah! Now everton get ready to make another change . Is this the FA Cup or the NCAA playoffs?
Into the final fifteen minutes and still 1-1 in this full blooded quarterfinal.
Another useless Everton cross.
Is that Marcus Hahnemann on the Everton bench?
Better from Everton as Mignolet does well to come out and gather a through ball intended for Leon Osman.
Stracquilarsi is on for Drenthe as Everton make their final change.
Are we looking at a replay at the SOL in about ten days?
A superb double save from Mignolet as he saves superbly from a Jelavic header then the rebound from Hair Bear.
It's all Everton as a corner was cleared , but the Toffees have a possession that is ended as the ball goes out of play.
Headed aide by Jelavic off a cross from Hair bear.
It is raining again at Goodison.
Hey,
I am back
I had to get some breakfast set for Matt and Jonathan
really want a winner today
Useless cross by McLean.
Final score
Italy 13 Scotland 6
Congrats to Scotland for winning the Wooden Spoon!!
Welcome back UWS. Back nice and squeaky clean. You didn't miss much.
Poor by the Jocks.
I just finished some cinnamon rolls. Are you having a feats for breakfast?
Ends all even at Goodison...on to the SoL in 10 days
That's it as it finishes 1-1 and there will be a replay at the SOL in about ten days.
Is the flag football in Charlotte a national tournament?
No... not at all. I made some toaster strudel(from a box) for Jon. I am now making some Monkey Bread(from a box)
Rangers did lose
Well done, UWS. Great brekkies! Useless by the Gers.
Flag Football?
I am taking Jon(my 8th grader) to his game tomorrow morning
Did you ever watch the St. Paddy's Day LOB video? It's really hilarious.Five LOBers are in the vid!
What video is this?
OOPS! That's right . I did read something about Charlotte, but it wasn't flag football.
It was posted on facebook, but Bob was talking about posting it on LOB. we are all caricatures misbehaving at an Irish pub on St. Paddy's Day. If I had known I would have told Bob to blow green bubbles.
Just was reading Bob's comments for this thread. I see his problem
He is COMPLETELY wrong about Warnock...he has a history of bringing teams up.... get rid of him when Leeds are IN the Prem
Classic from Jeff Stelling... forgot to wear his microphone
Wigan vs West Brom is a cure for insomnia.Wigan will move out of the drop zone if they defeat west Brom.
Merse believes that Maradona is better Messi.
I agree... Maradona won a World Cup by himself and a league for Napoli the same way
Big Nose does make a good point that Messi doesn't dive or cheat.... I like him for that
Pele will always by my #1... so ahead of his time
I agree. Not once has Warnock got a team to survive in the top flight. Was relegated with Notts County in 1992, the Blades in 2007, and it looks like QPR will go down this year.
Love to see the vid
I agree with both you and Big Nose. I will be watching the match from ER instead of Super Saturday as I don't get FSC+
Then I won't tell you about your part!
Jeff St.... Leeds revitalized under Warnock
Will I ever be able to see it?
The same was said by the announcer
I will try to email you the video from facebook.
We're off from the Dw and off from ER.
Off we got at Elland Road
Marching on Together is being sung
West Ham have done a no no... they have made Leeds attack the Kop in the first half
Elland Road looks packed... good to see
Leeds have an early free kick and Rob Green easily gathers the long free kick from Paul Robinson.
Actually a few empty seats. I think this is the biggest match of St. Paddy's Day it shows how big these clubs are that they're not even in the top flight , but are MOTD
Keep me informed from the DW and I will do the same from ER
Colchester have taken the lead vs Huddersfield and Rochdale have taken the lead vs Oldham in a local derby.
will do so. Actually I am watching Wigan on FSC and Leeds on the computer. I am doing double duty.
Rob Green punches away a Leeds corner.Nothing doing at the DW.
Lots of goals in League one as Carlisle take the lead at Bournemouth, Chesterfield take the lead vs the Fake Dons, and Wycombe take the lead at Bury.
Leeds vs West Ham was last played in 2005 when Leeds won 2-1.Bob will be hoping for the opposite today.
Brighton take the lead at Blackpool.
Are there seats empty... it looked full from the shots I saw
Busy doing laundry now
Southend take the lead at Hereford while Bath lead Lincoln City. Let's keep it clean lads!
Just a few near the touchline.
I didn't know that Reading are ahead of West Ham!!!
Two of my least favorite managers are involved as it is Fat Sam vs Evil Neil and my lest favorite chairmen as it is Captain Birdseye vs Gold and Sullivan.
West Ham do have a game in hand over the other two. If they win it, they would be tied for top
Yes they are , but I think they have played one game more than the Hammers. They drew with Dinny in midweek.
Wonder why?
BC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty at Goodison Park
"Everton manager David Moyes not attending the written media conference. Club official says 'he's chosen not to'."
How much are West Ham winning by?
Useless cross by Kevin Nolan as Rob Green had to out from a poor back pass as Ross was ryshing in.
Good Morning WHR. Still 0-0.
A poor clearance by Lonergan off of Nicky Maynard nearly led to an embarrassing Hammers goal.
Leeds are only 4 points behind 6th place as I type. They have played an extra game.
They will have nine games left and Warny think 75 would make the play offs... that would mean 21 points out of 27
Is there a feed for the West Ham match?
Morning Sir Trev
I actually have the Hammers on my TV!!!
Brum take the lead against Boro
Sunderland and Everton replay on Tuesday March 27
What channel?
Do you have FSC +?
Preston take the lead at Exeter. Bury tied it up vs Wycombe, then Wycombe regained the lead and now lead 1-2 at Bury. Lees has a shot deflected for a corner.
Morning lads. Sorry to hear that BDB was delayed last night which might mean he's late to this party.
Everyone watching West Ham and Leeds?
Snoddy was a ball hog in the box and lost possession.
Bob is talking through his left ear saying he wants the Hammers to win today.... we don't really believe him.. do we?
Morning Gooner
Sir Trev I have a link if you don't have FSC+.
Good morning Gooner.who are you cheering for today?
Evil Neil will be unpopular with Hammers fans due to the Tevez saga and him wanting the Hammers relegated that year that would have kept his Blades up.
Southampton take the lead at Millwall
Ipswich ahead of Peterboro
They lost 7-1 in the reverse fixture!!!
No, I just switched to Verizon Fios, but no FSC plus . . .
I'll take a link if you have one . . .
although I have to run to the post office.
I'll be back for the second half.
Brum take the lead vs Middlesbrough, Derby take the lead at Donny and The Tractor Boys take the lead vs Posh. Sotton take the lead at Millwall.
I can't believe that Pompey are 8 points off of safety
The link is :
www.firstrowsports.eu/watch/113573/1/watch-leeds-united-vs-west-ham-united.html
I still dislike Fat Sam
It was that ten point deduction coupled with Coventry , Donny, and Forest being in good form.
I dislike both managers and all the chairmen involved in this match.
I do believe him Dave. It's a complete disgrace that Ken Bates has picked a completely unlikeable arch villain like Warnock to run the club. It would be like replacing Wenger with Teddy Sheringham. I know many of the Leeds faithful feel betrayed.
Bloody ads!Well saved by Lonergan to save from Nicky Maynard after a good twist and turn.
Rangers' defeat puts them only two points ahead of Motherwell in second. When is the last time the two Glasgow teams didn't finish 1 and 2
Fergie Days at Aberdeen?
Millwall tie up against Sotton
Motherwell take the lead and tie up Rangers in points..only 28 goals to go to overtake them on GD
So are you blowing green bubbles this St. Paddy's Day.Rob Green with the most appropriate name today.
Piltdown Sam is hateful. But I think the gloss is off the guy. Most in the game have to realize how second rate he is, capable of a Championship promotion, but only by advocating completely unwatchable football.
Motherwell finished second when Alex McLeish was in charge. That must have been in the 90s.
I agree Gooner. He has thrown away fifty years of great work by the Hammers organization who have had a tradition of playing enjoyable football.
Millwall tie it up vs Sotton.
Calamity James returns to Fratton Park today. Still 0-0 there.
It's Scunny 1 Charlton 1
Just looked it up
Rangers finished 3rd behind Celtic and Hearts in 2006
LOVELY JUBBLY! PLYMOUTH TAKE THE LEAD VS SHREWSBURY
