Saturday in the Prem
It's another cracking day in the Premiership. I'm up early to catch what promises to be a fascinating opener with Andre Villas Boas returning to Stamford Bridge for the first time since he was sacked last season. Along with the usual 10am EST kick-offs, FSC will be focusing on United v. Stoke. Then we've got Norwich v. Arsenal as the late one. Join me for all the usual LOB coverage this morning.

Morning boys
I am no RVW today. I am up and ready for the big London derby
I do have to go drop Matt off at the high school in a few minutes for the PSAT but I'll be back for kick off
Morning, UWS - great to have you on board, albeit briefly. Off you go - we'll see you soon.
Here is the team news this morning:
Spurs: Friedel, Walker, Gallas, Caulker, Vertonghen, Huddlestone, Sandro, Lennon, Sigurdsson, Dempsey, Defoe.
Subs: Lloris, Adebayor, Naughton, Dawson, Falque, Livermore, Townsend.Referee: Mike Dean (Wirral)
Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Luiz, Cahill, Cole, Ramires, Mikel, Oscar, Hazard, Mata, Torres.
Subs: Turnbull, Romeu, Lampard, Moses, Sturridge, Azpilicueta, Bertrand.
Ref - Mike Dean
Spurs a bit light this morning, with Gareth Bale off on new dad duty and Dembele injured in mid-week for Belgium. I expect a Chelski win.
Teams coming out of the tunnel....
Good morning lads. I'm hoping for a Spurs win today, but it doesn't look likely.
I am back for kick off
Spurs get us underway at Shite Fart. A key clash here. Chelski would be romping it with a win, while Spurs could go second temporarily with a win.
Come on you Spurs!
Chelsea don't impress me much
They're off from WHL as I have the bagel and cofee ready
Morning, MUR - great timing. Welcome back, UWS!
Hello lads. Wishing Matt well with the PSAT. Melanie took it on Wednesday.
Terry banned for four games. He will miss both United matches. The league and League Cup matches
He retains the captaincy
Cheers BD. Grea to see Brad starting again. Poor by AVB to drop at all.
Oooh, Galas could have put that in!
Difficult chance but should have scored... I would have
Good start here for Spurs with Ballhog Defoe in there from the free kick. Should have finished.
Billy Gallas seemed surprised to see the free kick from Sigurdsson maje it to him and he diverted it wide.
Now Chelsea have a cornmer. Gallas headed away the corner from Hazard.
I saw Adebayor has had talks with AVB about not playing... I bet you he wished he never signed a permanent contract
I'm not sure why Adebayor doesn't start ahead of Defoe.
I second that, UWS> Hard to see him making it in to the starting lineup except for cup games.
SS link if you want to watch
It has already started
http://www.thefirstrow.eu/watch/147659/1/watch-soccer-saturday.html
Perhaps they could rotate the two strikers like Harry did.
Celtic are two up at St Mirren
I hope I get itthe link at home.I couldn't get it at work at it was blocked by the net cops.
Cheers, mate - I think I'll concentrate on this one for the moment. I woke up absurdly early this morning, so I already caught a bit of SS and Football Focus.
Oh - decent effort from Oscar there. Wide.
Iffy defending from Spurs!
Wide by Oscar from long range after poor Spurs defending. They're hanging on.
Oscar Wilde!!
That's what I first read from last post!!
Cashley heads out a cross for a Spurs corner.
Sandro has a shot that clears WHL after Caulker jeaded the corner up in the air.
SS are talking of Rooney and his 10 years of carrying the burden of being the white Pele
Oh - Torres nearly broke the offside trap and was in there. Spurs defenders a bit square.
Struth.. Galas pfaffing about with it and loses possession... Torres offside.. just
Torres is flagged offside offf a long ball from Oscar with just Brad to beat
I disagree with that analogy of Roon. These journalists sure are desperate for a story!
"Your majesty is like a big jam donut with cream on the top." ~Oscar Wilde.
Nice try by Dempsey... I hate his number!!
HE'S NOT A RIGHT BACK!!!
Thanks for the link, UWS. As Bob can tell you, it was blocked at work. I won in my own way as we had a power outage just before we left for the weekend and the district server is down for the weekend.
GOAL! Cahill opens the account for Chelski!
Oscar Wilde can be interpreted in many different ways. Not sure which way is the ciorrect way.Hope his mind wasn't in the gutter. Agredd, UWS, about Clint's number
Goal.. great volley by Cahll
GOAL!!!0-1 CHELSKI AS GALLAS HEADED OUT A CORNER AND GARY CAHILL SCORED WITH A SPECTACULAR VOLLEY
We've seen that before from the central defender. He does have a quality finish in him.
0-1 Chelski!
If I were RDM I would put JT on the bench behind Cahill.
Oh - Defoe hits one that Cech can only parry. Dempsey nearly in on the rebound.
Cech fumbled a shot from Dafoe and Cashley cleared/
The corner was cleared as Chel;sea countered and a cross from Torres was headed away
Celtic are three up
Well done with the quote BD!
I agree, BD, about the Chelsea goal. It was coming as SPurs were merely hanging on.
I would send Terry off to Accrington Stanley
Great update from the Nocito SportsCenter and agreed about the quote from Oscar Wilde.
Chelski are flying now on top of the Prem with 22 points in the bag.
Let's hope they are grounded in the next 65 minutes!
I second that, UWS
I really really don't want Chelsea to win the League this year... they were piss poor last season and finished SIXTH!! A lucky run in the CL and now they are world beaters!
Well staed,UWS, I agree 100%. I have the feeling that one good loss could ruin their momentum.
Bloody well hope so
We need to win at the Bridge next Sunday. We then play there three days later on Halloween!
Useless free kck from Fatty
Oh - Siggurdsson had a chance there but put it wide.
Rangers host amauter club Queens Park today at Ibrox.
What ground is the home of QP?
Dafoe had a shot blocked as he was crowded out , then a cross from Clint was headed out. Just wdoe from Sigurdsson.
I think it's Hampden Park.
Better from Spurs.
Great trcikery from Torres, but a horrible cross.
You are correct sir
They actually have to find a new home for a while. HP is going to be worked on for the Commonwealth Games
Lennon chases a llost cause as he keeps the ball in play and falls over the advertsing boarding.
Wonder if Tony's boss is at the match
I had an unfair advntage as I red it in Football Jandbook when I was in high school. Doesn't Hampden llse money by having such sparse crowds for home games? Where will they move?
IS Tony at the match?
Freund clattered players . I didn't consider him to be a footballer.
Celtic score # 4... it's only half time!
Cashleyt heads out a long cross for a SPurs corner.
He only goes to a few matches when a ticket is available.
Palace 0 Millwall 0
The corner was cleared. What a thrashing north of the border!
Spurs just don't seem to have any ideas here.
The Leeds idiot from last night has been identified. He has not been arrested yet.
He has been named through the social media but not by the authorities... what a plonker!!!
I see. No guesses as to who Tony wants to win. Should be a lot of police at the other London derby between two rival Southeast clubs that really hate each other.
Oh - Mata should have scored there, if not with his first shot then his second. Big Brad did well.
Good save by Brad but the rebound should have been buried!
Great save by Brad from Mata
I hope they arrest him and ban him for life.An absolute loser!
Gallas booked for a naughty challenge on Torres.
I agree, BD. Spurs have had more of the possession , but seem to lack creativity
Why are Tottenham playing like this... they were fantastic going forward in the first half against United
Spurs have scored in 28 straight home games... let's hope that continues
A teasing cross from Sigurdsson is fumbled again by Cech, but cleared.
Spurs look clueless on how to penetrate the Chelsea defense
Dempsey has a shot blocked
Corner to Spurs.. come on you whites
It seems like Spurs best chance is poor keeping by Cech as he has got away with it twice.
Demps has another shot blocked!
Vertongen won a headder and Clint had a shot blocked off the corner from Fatty.
Now David Luiz is down with a head injury after clashing with Caulker.
Sunday match on ESPN2 next week.. the Merseyside derby from Goodison
Into stoppage time. Three minutes of that
Sopunds like a cracker. SOmeone should be around for that one and will be pleased to see Celtic four up.
Defoe should have crossed... of course.. he took a shot
Kyle Walker is booked for fouling Ramires on the break.
Would we expect any different?
Spurs really need to improve in the second half
They are attacking their favorite end at least
Now Ramires is booked for a foul o the break as we apprioach halftime.
Ref blows up as Spurs fail to get the ball in the box.. know the clock boys!
Ramierez with a foul that ruined Spurs attack and it works
Halftime and Chelsea lead 0-1 at WHL. I have to take Melanie to a regional audition and should be back shortly after the second half kicks off.
Half-time - Not much to write home about. Chelski in the driver's seat at Shite Fart
We're off for the second half
COME ON SPURS!
Not sure why AVB hasn't made any changes at half time. Spurs were really flat.
YES!!
GALAS BUNDLES IT IN AGAINST HIS OLD CLUB
He almost missed the header from two inches
GOAL! There we go - Spurs back in it! Billy Gallas finishing off a Vertongen header.
1-1!
Did that go off his hand?
His header... from two inches... would have missed if it didn't go off his hand
Pepe not one of the players getting off the Liverpool coach at Anfield...Brad Jones to be in the net
Chance at the back post... volleyed into the ground
Corner
Oh - Siggurdsson was in there but Cech did well to save from an acute angle.
Another Spurs chance... cut in and decent shot. Cech didn't spill the shot
Great start from Spurs
I didn't think the angle was very cute at all!!!!
Boom boom, UWS!
GOAL... DEFOE WITH THE GOAL!!
GOAL! Ballhog scores his 200th! Spurs are 2-1 up suddenly.
I don't know what was in the half-time tea but Spurs have come out as if shot out of a cannon. Chelski are rocking.
decent finish and hes shouldn't have passed!
Spurs would be up to second and two points behind the Blues
Oh - Cashley goes down there under a Gallas challenge and Mike Dean gives a corner. Close thing.
Handbags now between Sandro and Torres.
Cashley does his best impersonation of Suarez... nothing given but a corner
I'm back and see that Spurs lead 2-1. Perhaps I should stay away!
I'm back and see that Spurs lead 2-1. Perhaps I should stay away!
How high can Spurs finish?
Beaten United
Beating Chelsea
Sandro shoots tamely at Cech.
Yes you should... bugger off MUR
I have a feeling they would implode like last season.
Anything for the cause, right , UWS?
BREAKING TEAM NEWS
Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli will lead the line for Manchester City at The Hawthorns this afternoon, but David Silva misses out with injury. Skipper Vincent Kompany is back in the team.
I agree, MUR - I can't see them higher than 4th.
BLOW UP REF!!!!
Absolutely... you're still here!
I woukld still favor Citeh
I'm here to stay as Torres goes down too easily . Never a pen.
Poor cross by Ivanovic easily cut out.
Now Cashley has a poor cross easily cut out.
when does Matt take the PSAT?
GOAL! Mata makes it Desmond!
Bugger... Mata ties it up at Desomond
Against the run of play - great cross in from Oscar that Gallas made a mess of it. Mata slammed home.
BUGGER!!! IT'S DESMOND AS GALLAS , YET AGIN, FAILS TO CLEAR A CROSS, THIS TIME FROM OSCAR AND MATA EASILY FINISHES.
Fatty trots off to be replaced by Livermore.
Jake Livermore is on for Fatty.
Palace down to ten men but are still beating Milwall at Selhurst
Spectacular save by Cech from Dafoe from long range
Oh - Defoe will an acrobatic volley there that Cech had to scramble behind.
Torres breaks but takes an age!!
The corner from Sigurdssion us easily cleared and a great last ditch tackle by Vertongen on Torres keeps it Desmond.
Oh - Torres was in there but took all day long to get his shot off. Allowed a tackle.
Now Mata makes it 3-2!!!!
Bloody hell... 3-2 Chelsea.. Mata again
BUGGER!!! BLOODY HELL!!!
MATA WITH A BRACE AS HE PUTS CHELSEA 2-3 UP
What a great ball from Eden Hazard! Gallas totally flat footed there.
Ramires passed to Hazard who put in a superb pass for Mata, buty Gallas fell asleep on the play as he heas been responsible for all three Chelsea goals. Why hasn't he been subbed?
Only two minutes and 57 seconds separating the two Mata goals.
Oh - great ball through from Oscar to Mata who was on a hat-trick.
Bit unnecessary from Walker hammering the ball into Mata.
On comes Ade for Clint.
Adebayor on for Clint.. should he have left the cottage?
Ade on for Clint , who rests after a long flight across the Atlantic.
Oh - Brad claws out a shot from Oscar. It's all happening now!
Great near post save by Brad from Oscar
Not Happy that Gallas gifted Chesea three goals and that he's still on the pitch
Dimi in the Fulham team for Fulham
Celtic score a fifth...yawn
Someone will be pleased.
Scholes and Valencia start for Cleverley and Kagawa
Ade diverts sa header straight to Cech off a cross from Livermore.
IS cleverley being rested due to the international matches? Like Valencia replacing Kagawa.
Dafoe took too long and had a shot blocked by Oscar.
Celtic have won 0-5 at St. Mirren
10 to go
Ten minutes to go - can there be even more late drama here at Shite Fart?
Free kick chance for Spurs
Dafoe is fouled just outside the box by Mikkel. Great football from Spurs.
Useless effort from Siggy
Dangerous free kick now....
Siggurdsson blasts well over.
Poor free kick from Sigurdsson. What a waste!
Danny Sturridge is on for Oscar
Sturridge is well offside off a long ball.
Bob will not be pleased too hear that Kyl;e Walker started with the Blades. Bad enough that Gooner watches him as a Spurs player
Oh - Lennon carved out a bit of space but then fired at Cech.
Lennon with a shot... his finishing should be better
Lennon shhots right at Cech after David Luiz cut out a cross from Kyle Walker.
Oh - Torres had a chance to finish off matters. Wide of the mark.
Torres curls one just wide
Another great through ball
Agreed, UWS. He has problems shooting and passing. The main responsibilities of a winger
Great pass from Mata as Torres shot just wide, then well wide from Sandro.
Great tackle by Vertongen on Sturridge. Are you watchiong, Billy?
Too long by Hazard for Torres and Spurs get away with it.
Cech dropped a cross from Dafoe, buyt he gathered it before Ade could connect
Struth... that almost beat Cech!!
Oh - how have Spurs not equalized!
What a superb save by Cech from Kyle Walker. Corner Spurs.
