Thanksgiving Weekend Footer
I'm here in Gooner Central this weekend, looking forward to watching a bit of the good stuff with our dad. The weekend's festivities start with high flying West Brom away to Sunderland. United have some shooting practice against QPR with new boss Harry Redknapp installed yesterday and finally Arsenal are away to woeful Villa in the late one. Join us for all the usual LOB coverage.

Here are the team news:
Sunderland: Mignolet, Bardsley, O'Shea, Cuellar, Rose, Larsson, Cattermole, Colback, Johnson, Sessegnon, Fletcher. Subs: Westwood, Gardner, Campbell, Kilgallon, Vaughan, McClean, Saha.
West Brom: Myhill, Jones, Olsson, McAuley, Ridgewell, Odemwingie, Yacob, Morrison, Brunt, Gera, Long. Subs: Luke Daniels, Popov, Rosenberg, Dorrans, Lukaku, Tamas, Fortune.
Referee: Mike Dean.
The Baggies have been the big shock in the Premiership this season with seven wins from 12 matches so far. It's all been about the striking partnership between Shane Long and Peter Odemwinge, who have eight goals between them.
Teams out on the pitch now at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland get us underway. Can the Black Cats get their season back on track?
Any chance that we can get Steve Clark in at Elland Road? Just asking....
LUFC Academy factor today - 1 (Danny Rose)
Myhill has a bit of early handling practice there near post to get down to Adam Johnson's shot.
A rapid exchange of passes from the Baggies ends with a decent shot from Odemwingie, 20 yards out, which Mignolet gathers.
John O'Shea picks up a yellow card for a rash tackle on Shane Long. Free kick oppo here.
The free kick comes to nothing. Not much to indicate why WBA are doing so well this season - just your usual early match sparring.
Possession stats show West Brom have hogged 55% of the ball-time so far. Neither side has done much in the way of chance creation, though.
Sunderland look a wee bit shaky with their zonal defending at these set pieces. The Baggies could get some joy there.
I've just noticed that Larry Hagman, star of Bewitched and Dallas, has died this morning. RIP
Rose prods the ball downfield to Johnson, who backheel-flicks the ball to Sessegnon, who controls nicely and volleys goalwards. Myhill pushes the ball round the post. Nice stuff.
Dear oh dear - John O'Shea is off inside 20 minutes! Second yellow for the United man. Sunderland down to ten men!
No - it's a yellow card for Shane Long for simulation in the end.
Simon Burnton of the Guardian says: "John O'Shea is not sent off!
Fletcher gives the ball away carelessly in midfield, and moments later Shane Long has it on the left. He touches the ball past O'Shea and goes down over the defender's clumsily-positioned leg. The referee blows his whistle, runs to the spot and waves a red card. O'Shea flicks his hand in the air furiously and heads for the tunnel. About 20 yards later the referee calls him back – he's booked Long for diving"!
Great stop there by Myhill as Fletcher gets up well for the header.
Sunderland have a free kick out wide right now. Johnson wastes it with a long, long ball that drifts out.
After a slow start this is heating up rather nicely. Cattermole is heating up less nicely, and is playing as if on a booking bonus.
GOAL! Zoltan Gera breaks the deadlock with a spectacular left-footed effort that stuns the Sunderland crowd into silence. No chance for Mignolet.
0-1 WBA!
That's three now for Gera, so the front three for WBA have 11 goals between them - impressive!
Crikey - the Baggies are third in the league! Wonder when the last time was when they were that high up the pecking order.
Clattermore is down receiving treatment now.
Craig Gardner has come on for Cattermole then. A lot of WBA shins are safe now.
Sunderland give the ball away on the edge of West Brom's penalty area, and Gera leads a four-man break. Suddenly the referee blows his whistle and gives Sunderland a free-kick, having seen Long blocking the run of a defender on the half-way line. Long throws a minor strop, clearly feeling a little picked on.
James Morrison picks up a yellow sliding in on Danny Rose.
The half is dwindling down to the last few minutes - WBA with the upper hand.
Latest possession stats show Sunderland with a 55%-45% advantage. West Brom have cooled off significantly since they went ahead.
GOAL! A howler for Mignolet and Shane Long merely has to rob it off him and roll it in for his fifth of the season.
Gardner has a chance to peg one back with a nice free kick effort that Myhill palms away.
I'm still not quite seeing what all the fuss is about WBA. They're well organized but little better than that. They've benefited here from a wonder strike from Gera and moment of madness from Sunderland's keeper Mignolet. But that will probably be enough to claim their 8th win of the season.
Half-time then - I'm off to clean meself up a bit.
Good morning BD. I was an RVW and see that West Brom lead 0-2 at Sunderland.
Great save by Mignolet as Shane Long was through on goal and the Baggies could have been three up.
Now Sunderland have a corner.Olsson heads away, then Adam Johnson is easily dispossessed.
Back for the second half now and Sunderland have started with purpose.
Morning, MUR - welcome to the party.
Hello BD. I was feeling Presidential because a Marilyn Monroe look alike was singing Happy Birthday Mr. president.
Johnson tries a pop but Myhill is equal to it.
Nice one, mate. I missed the Marilyn show.
Great save by Bo Myhill from Adam Johnson.
I saw that the Fred Town area is getting their first snow of the season . Is that correct?
Terrific challenge there from LUFC Academy as Jones was thrusting into the area.
Apparently so - they need to knock it off tomorrow as I'm driving back.
I sure hope so. wishing you a safe trip back tomorrow. It looks like Lake effect snow from the report I saw.
Morning Boys,
I watched most the first half upstairs in bed and saw both goals. Just finished showering and shaving and am ready for the long haul
I should be fine. I'll watch the big match tomorrow here with the boys and then head up slowly. Nothing going on here so I should be able to get to Pittsburgh without any drama. I'll take it slow from there.
Morning UWS - how are you mate?
So - what's the prediction for United v. QPR? 8-0? 12-0? 16-0?
Right now West Brom are third... well done to them
Oh - Long should have had his second there as Chris Brunt fizzed a cross cum shot over.
Good morning UWS. I will go with 2-0 because United have been poor as of late. Will Harry Helen I Can't Act Reddy be on the touchline today?
Good morning UWS. I will go with 2-0 because United have been poor as of late. Will Harry Helen I Can't Act Reddy be on the touchline today?
Another cross goes across the box.
Oh - now it's Brunt who misses out as Odemwinge knocks one across the danger zone. Sunderland are looking terrible at the back now.
We'll probably lose.. impress the new manager affect!
We have had a couple of Tom's English teammates staying here this weekend. One is from York and supports York City and Newcastle. The other one is from London.. supports... QPR!
Yes - apparently Harry is in charge today. Should be entertaining at least.
You'll have to kick the Rangers fan out of the house around 10 am. Maybe he can do the dogwalking today.
Where is snow expected? Not for me hopefully
I have told him.. he needs another place to stay tonight!
I expect United to win 2-0 and expect QPR to climb the table , but in future matches like the home match vs Villa. Paul Lambert to get the bronze for the sack race?
DId you see Larry Hagman AKA JR Ewing died last night?
We're getting hit today and tomorrow in WNY - might be coming your way, mate.
well done , UWS. No room for QPR fans unless he scrubs the floors by hand! It's Lake effect snow, UWS.
Already mentioned Larry Hagman at 8:04 on this thread, RVW. ;-}
I did see that. It surprised me.
The girls and I went to the beach yesterday after I mowed and edged the lawn. They wanted to go today, but a front as expected came through yesterday evening and it finally rained when the front came through. Did you guys do a rain dance?
I used to like Appy Arry and now I feel more like my bruv Mike.. he thinks he is sneaky cockney boy. Someone once called him a Del Boy (Only Fools and Horses, a wheeler and dealer ) and he got really pissed off.
I think the news of him going to Ukraine was just to get QPR to do something. He is now saying how much trouble QPR are in.. he is digging a whole that he will be a hero getting out of
No rain dancing here in DC. It's been beautiful. We had a very mild winter in WNY last season, so I've been expecting a bad one.
Typical Helen Reddy. As I sated yesterday , an evil man at an evil club. As far as I am concerned he is Helen Reddy, B actress.
Oh - nearly a third from Odemwinge as he cuts inside and fires a rocket with his left peg. And now he's off.
I just have to correct the 8:04 comment about Larry Hagman.. he started in Dallas and I Dream of Jeanie.. not Bewitched
DId you see Rafa has already said that Lamps and Cash are leaving Chelsea in the summer?
Same here, BD. The beach in late November??? I clocked it and it's a 55 minute drive to SPI.
Pardon me; you're right, mate. Who was the bloke in Bewitched?
Shame on Bob. Great job of editing , UWS. I did read that, but also read that Raffa stated that Wenger is a better manager than SAF. LOL, Raffa. Is he selling swampland in Florida?
Sunderland really need this free kick to fly in. Luis Saha coming on now.
There was Dick York and Dick Seargeant. Yorkie died of lung cancer.
GOAL... Gardner gets a goal back for Sunderland
GOAL! And Sunderland do get one back from the free kick! It was deflected but a good strike nonetheless.
1-2!
It was Dick York and the Dick Sargent in Bewitched
GOAL !!! 1-2 AS CRAIG GARDENER SCORES A FREE KICK THAT DEFLECTS FORTUNE WHICH FAVORS THE BRAVE. AN UNEXPECTED LIFELINE FOR THE BLACK CATS.
Did you hear that Rangers at Elgin City was postponed because they sold more tickets than the stadium capacity. Your thoughts?
Sessignon tries one from distance - it's deflected past the post.
Nearly Desmond as a shot from Sessignon is deflected inches wide by Billy Jones. Headed well over by Carlos Cuellar off the corner.
Any comments about Raffa saying Wenger is a better manager than SAF. Poor by Raffa.
Gera wins a corner off of Larsson.
IT WAS 20 YEARS AGO TODAY...well Monday... that Cantona came to Old Trafford!
Ahh the memories!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2237631/Eric-Cantona-Jamie-Redknapp-Gary-Neville-Roy-Keane-Sir-Alex-Ferguson-share-memories.html
A dark day in Leeds, then. Hoping to pull out an improbable home point against Palace today.
I didn't read that about Rafa.. I did see it is already WAR with Fergie and him
I didn't read that about Rafa.. I did see it is already WAR with Fergie and him
Did you see the Ferige statue
Penalty to the Baggies!
Penalty to West Brom... Adam Johnson never touched the ball
Also saw last night that Clattenburg was cleared and that he never made the racial remarks. The evil Obi wan Mikkel made up the accusations and confronted Clattenburg after the match. The Prem is investigating and a lengthy suspension is predicted . Chelsea never apologized making them an evil club.

Ridgewell was upended by Adam Johnson then.
The Chunk steps up...goal!
1-3!
Lukaku buries the spot kick.. they have a different taker every time!
PENALTY as ADAM JOHNSON COMMITS A FOUL IN THE BOX AND THE BIG CHUNK GIVES THE BAGGIES A 1-3 LEAD FROM THE SPOT.
I didn't realize that it had been twenty years. Good times. Thanks Leeds!
Arrry is only watching the match today. He isn't in charge today but will watch from the stands.
I think I heard about the statue. BRILLIANT!
Man Utd v QPR (1500 GMT)
BREAKING: Kieron Dyer makes his first QPR start since 13 August 2011, when he lasted seven minutes before coming off injured.
The Ukraine acting job is an example of why I call him Helen Reddy.
Perhaps he will last eight minutes today.
I reckon that Chelski will be forced to apologize. I accept that Ramires made a mistake but he should own up to it.
Stupid by Elgin City to sell too many tickets , resulting in the match being postponed?
Oh - the Chunk nearly helps himself to another one there.
The talk was that the word 'monkey' was used
Remember, Clattenburg is from around Newcastle and the guys name is "Mikel"
Across the box by the Chunk , but nobody was there to connect
GOAL! Sessignon bundles in a second goal. They will not give up.
Goal... he almost missed but Sess makes it 3-2!
These ho-hum games always seem to have lots of goals!
GOAL !!! SESSIGNON PULLS ONE BACK OFF THE CORNER AFTER MYHILL SAVED A HEADER FROM FLETCHER OFF THE CORNER FROM ADAM JOHNSON.
I have seen more than half the goals. Not bad for an RVW.
Useless shot there.. he had a man wide to get the ball over
Sessignon picks up a late, late yellow card.
I was watching Sky Sports News on FSC and it was stated that Clattenburg never used the word. Mikkel lied about it. Martin Keown is predicting a lengthy suspension for Obi Wan Mikkel. It would seem the right thing to do.
There is a full slate of midweek games this midweek in the Prem
United host West Ham on Wednesday
Citeh goest to Wigan
Chelsea host Fulham
4 added minutes
A through ball from Jim Morrison for the Chunk is cleared by Bardsley as there are four minutes of stoppage time.
Gabriel Tamas is on for Jim Morrison.
Decent save from a header there from WBA
Oh - Cuellar had a late, late chance there.
Nice save by Myhill from a header by Cuellar off a cross from Sessignon.
Lukaku with a hammer off the inside of the post... Sunderland break!
OH! Off the Sunday roast by the Big Chunk after beating Bardsley
offside... ridiculous from Adam Johnson... he is pants!
Oh - the Chunk rockets one off the Beans on Toast for a late, late thrill.
A suspension for Obi Wan Mikkel? I think eight matches would be reasonable. Your thoughts?
Why didn't WBA KADUMPH IT ??
GOAL...nice finish and WEST BROM ARE IN THIRD!!!
GOAL! Mark Antoine Fortune makes it safe for WBA -
2-4!
GOAL !!! 2-4 BAGGIES AS FORTUNE FAVORS THE BRAVE SEALS THE THREE POINTS AFTER THE FOUR MINUTES OF STOPPAGE TIME HAD BEEN PLAYED.
That's it as the Baggies win 2-4 and they are third for the first time since Big Mouth Ron was in charge.
Just time for the kick off and we're done
Well done West Brom! First time since 1980 under Ron Atkinson, they have won four on the trot
Future United stars Bryan Robson and Remi Moses were in that team
That's that, then - WBA's rise continues. Who would have thunk it!
BREAKING: Darren Fletcher starts for Manchester United, to make his first Premier League appearance since 19 November last year. Jonny Evans and Wayne Rooney come in. David de Gea is on the bench, so Anders Lindegaard continues between the sticks after looking pretty solid against Galatasaray in midweek.
Man Utd v QPR (1500 GMT)
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson names an attacking line-up, making five changes from last weekend's shock defeat at Norwich. Wayne Rooney, who missed the Carrow Road clash with tonsillitis, and Danny Welbeck start alongside Robin Van Persie, while Darren Fletcher makes his first Premier League appearance in over a year following bowel illness. Centre-half Jonny Evans and veteran midfielder Paul Scholes also start.
Sounds like a decent lineup if United can get their fingers out of their bums. Not sure about starting Fletch.

Bob says you have a lot of windows open during matches. THEN WHY BUY A MAC? BOOM BOOM!
I'll predict 6-0 in this one.
SAF says he's outliving death as he saw his statue. BRILLIANT!
I will be safe and predict 2-0.
I BLOODY WELL HOPE SO!
I actually think United will win but will fall behind
I think UWS likes a nice breeze on a wintry day. Boom boom!
It finished 0-0 between Motherwell and Aberdeen
Then why buy a MAC??? BOOM BOOM!
BD ?
Stelling says the reporter from Motherwell and Aberdeen didn't contact the studio once.. nothing happened!
Hair Bear Bunch isn't playing for the Toffees today against Norwich
BUGGER! The Soccer Saturday link is not loading.
Gooner has just referred to RVP as 'The White William Gallas." I think there just might be a bit of residual anger there.
PHEW! Link 2 loaded.
I think so!
Say hello to bruv and papa for me
Sounds like it. Not an accurate description. He hates Nasri too?
Mine has been working well until you mentioned it.. now it is pausing!
I blame you MUR
Absolutely - the comments about Nasri are unrepeatable on a family oriented blog.
Away we go
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
United are playing too slow for me already!
Same here, Bob. Please say hi to the family.
James on Twitter: "Kieron Dyer injury sweepstake anyone? 13 minutes."
Udinese West take the lead at Blackpool
Thanks, lads - it's great to have the three Dahlgren men in one room watching the match.
Look at all the old heroes watching the match
Viv Anderson, Robson, Schmeichel, McClair, Nev and more
The announcer called Almunia Alumnnia.Wolves take the lead vs Forest
Watford leading at Blackpool
Wolves up against Forest
Sheff Utd behind at Brentford
Sorry UWS. Did you try link 2? It worked for me./
United are playing too slow!!!
I HATE IT
What do you make of the new Fergie statue? I suppose it makes more sense than the Wacko Jacko statue outside Craven Cottage.
Just changed to link 2... it didn't exist when I first opened first row
Absolutely! A great sight , watching the match.
Passing around the back four.. this is not he way United should play
Only four minutes in and UWS is already whining? Poor form, mate.
I think statue looks good close up from a distance you can't really tell its SAF
I love the statue. I am watching link 2 and no problems.
Ipswich fall behind at home to Peterboro
Young Fergie take the lead at Portman Road in an East Anglian relegation six pointer
Rio slips and and gives away a corner... this is how United play
You can't tell me it is good enough
Agreed, BD. Definitely relegation form from UWS
Definitely too slow from United.
Listen.. I am not showing poor form
My team plays with pace and attack... once we play one way, we don't seem to be able to change
Everton take the lead against Norwich.. Naismith
The Toffees take the lead vs the Canaries. Someone over Yellows.
Posh have taken the lead against poor Ipswich. I fear that the Tractor Boyz are going down, going down, going down.
Still whining!
Bloody hell Rio.. who was that pass to?
Scholes with another tackle
I hope your worst nightmare doesn't come true with Hughes going to ER!
A surprise as struggling Bristol City take the lead at promotion chasing Middlesbrough
United should be going for the jugular
This team hasn't one a game all season.. why aren't we playing like the 8-2 match... go after the goal.. go after the goal often!
I sure lost the Dyer bet as i predicted only eight minutes. He's pacing himself, the bugger
Typical scything challenge there from the Ginger Ninja - Lee Probert takes a patient view.
