Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

http://www.firstrow1.eu/watch/166152/1/watch-gilette-soccer-special.html
Kick-off time!
The other matches in the Premiership tonight:
Everton v. WBA
Norwich v. Spurs (two sides that lost in the Cup at the weekend)
Fulham v. West Ham
United v. Soton
Reading v. Chelski
In the Championship, Huddersfield will take on Palace fresh from sacking my old friend Simon Grayson.
GOAL! Suarez has opened the scoring at the Emirates!
The initial chance fell to Sturridge whose effort was half-cleared by Verminator and Suarez benefited. That's his 17th of the season.
0-1 Pool!
Theo nearly equalized straight from the kick-off!
That Liverpool goal will at least temporarily lift Liverpool above Arsenal in the league into 6th on 39 points.
Good afternoon, bD. I will be joining in with a few comments as I am teaching. My eyes will be on the action from OT
Ian and Macca chatting as SAF exits the tunnel
Kickoff in a minute or two.
They're off from OT!
COME ON MAN UNITED!
Gooner will not be pleased.
Afternoon, MUR!
BLOODY HELL!!
I walk in the door and matt tells me what happened!
Carrick and De Gea... hopeless
BUGGER! TWIGHLIGHT WITH COMICAL GOALKEEPING AND HORRIBLE DEFENDING FROM CARRICK AS JAY RODRIGUEZ GIVES SAINTS A SURPRISE LEAD AT OT IN THE 4TH MINUTE
Le Tiss is laughing...and it's because Soton have scored improbably at Old Trafford.
Sorry, mate. Early doors.
Good afternoon, UWS. It was a horror show.
Sounds like Carrick and Twilight have had a 'mare there. Rodriguez only had to tuck it in from an angle.
0-1 Soton!
Boruc pushes out a pass for a United corner.
Two useless attempts from Rooney
Welcome, UWS - do you feel like you should come back in?
Smalling heads over the corner.
I wonder if UWS feels like he should be back teaching.
A horror show from United whether it be a vowel or a consonant.
We should have lost to the Saints in the first match
Wish i was!!!
Why aren't you teaching?
YES!!!!!!!!
ROONEY!!!
I can't get the link for SS working
I have tried first row and wiziwig
PUSH ON UNITED!
I was helping some students and see that I missed a United equalizer.
That didn't take long!
ooh, off the inside of the post by Kagawa
I am teaching, but my students are working on an assignment and plowing right through it as if they're playing Aylesbury Town
I saw the shot from Kagawa. We should rout these numpties.
Dracula has scored at the Cottage for Fulham.
Why couldn't that shot have gone in
Berbatov has scored for Fulham against West Ham
That's Drac's 8th goal on the day of his 32nd birthday. Well done, lad!
Pool nearly 2-0 up as Daniel Agger has a header off the line!
United break... Rooney doesn't make the most of it!
He slows down!
Typical Roon
RVP free kick headed well wide.
Everton take the lead... Baines
Baines gives Everton the lead vs West Brom/.
United defending has been hopeless again
Another free kick chance for the Saints
I can't find a bloody link for SS
Roon corner easily headed away
Norwich take the lead at home to Spurs
My link has just packed it in - having some trouble with First Row this afternoon. I'm trying P2P.
Only scoreless game is at the Bridge
RVP with a deflected shot just wide
I can't get ANY links working for anything!
Roon with a dangerous cross. It was parried but just didn't fall to a United player...bugger
SHOOT IT RVP
Unselfish pass but to no one
None of the sites with links will open
What is going on???
YES!!!!!!!!!!!
TWO ONE!!
ROONEY TAPS IT IN
RVP free kick to the back post, headed across by Evra... easy for Rooney
COME ON.... PUSH ON!
2-1 United Roon volleys from a yard out as Evra headed on an RVP free kick
The only scoreless game is not at the Bridge but at Madjeski
Nice cross by Jones... Welbeck should have done better
I want Hernandez instead of him
That's young Roon's 9th goal of the season - almost as many as Rickie Lambert. ;-)
Nice move by United.. RVP rifles over
I am pleased with the pace of United's attack... keep it up
This link seems to be working again:
http://www.firstrow1.eu/watch/166152/1/watch-gilette-soccer-special.html
Lots of bloody pop-ups, though!
Useless clearance by United... Carrick saves us
Hurrah - UWS is pleased with United!
I still the turning wheel with that link!
Definitely see Sottn scoring again
Everton 2 up.. Baines again
Not the defending!
Norwich go in 1-0 up at half-time.
Ah - you can't always get what you want, mate, as Mick Jagger would say.
Half time at the Em
Must be the sideboards that give Leighton Baines his special powers.
Half-time at the Em - Gooner and Dad not best pleased.
Still no link working for me
Welbeck with a decent move and shot...saved
I am so frustrated with my computer... or lack of links... NOTHING
Free kick chance for United... too deep from RVP
Into 2 minutes of added time at OT
BUgger... Mata has scored late for Chelsea in the first half
That increases the pressure on Citeh but not necessarily on United. I'm starting to think that there are a few mini battles going on - for 2nd/3rd, for the last CL spot, and then for the Europa League spot/s.
Off to set up my class, mate. Back in a tick to check the scores.
Half time at OT
After a rotten start, United are leading at half time
Hope United get some more goals in the second half
Arsenal not shooting early enough!
Still completely linkless
Free kick chance for the Arse
Podolski whacks the wall... comes back and whacks the ball right into Carra... ouch
Finally a link... from Wiziwig... but it is pausing
OH DEAR
Henderson has doubled Liverpool's lead!
They're underway again at OT
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
Well - my dad's cataract surgery went smoothly today. But he won't be happy with that at all.
Glad about the surgery... not about the game
Both North London teams on the losing end today
Both Merseyside clubs winning
West Ham have tied it up at the Cottage
Nolan with the goal
Not happy with United's start again.
We have been doing this a lot
Sotton are the better team right now
Just like West Ham
Right now
Spurs is on 41
Everton 41
Arsenal 37
Liverpool 37
Fulham retake the lead against the Hammers
Rodallega with the goal
Giroud scores for Arsenal
Come on United... start playing again!!!!
Giroud has got one back for the Arsenal - he's on a bit of a scoring tear recently. Game on?
Struth... West Brom have a goal too
Goals all over the place
United are second best... AGAIN!!!
IT'S DESMOND AT THE EM!!!
United doing NOWT this half.... I AM FED UP
Gave up with link... very poor display by everyone posting the SS.. get your fingers out
Two goals in three minutes for the Arse
RVP has been Rooneyish today... not too impressive
Very dire by United this half
Where's the pace?
where's the quality?
West Brom almost level it up...off the woodwork
All SOUTHAMPTON!
United are pathetic!!!
Terrible play
WHY
United can't keep possession and are being pegged back. The passing is going straight to the team in yellow
Southampton have a free kick... right at De Gea but it goes off his chest... the rebound went clear and he was able to get the rebound.
United give the ball away again.. another corner
If we win this, it will not be deserved
What is with these United players?
You're supposed to be better than Southampton... SHOW IT
The first 18 minutes of the second half has been atrocious for United
Fergie has seen enough. Rio is on for Smalling
United can't get the ball in Sotton's half
It's not just mee
2119:
Mark Lawrenson, at Old Trafford for BBC Radio 5 live
Man Utd 2-1 Southampton
"It's been sloppy from Manchester United, allowing Southampton to attack. Saints have started this second half well and United look very disjointed and can't string passes together. If anyone's likely to score it is Southampton."
Barca has taken the lead at Real Madrid
Cesc Fab with the goal
UNITED ARE ATTACKING!!!!!!
of course, it doesn't come to anything
Bale has tied it up at Carrow Road
Lamps doubles Chelsea's lead
Rafa about to come on.. that shows how United have struggled
Rio is on
Rafa coming on.. for Anderson
Terrible by Rio... United's defenders can't get the ball out of their half
If we squeak out with a win.. we will be very lucky
Clueless attack by Welbeck then Rooney
UNITED GET A SHOT ON GOAL!!
Rooney with a tame attempt of a shot...that's been it this half
Southampton go close again
If I was at OT, I would be boing this performance
Arsenal should have scored the winner
Giroud with a whiff inside the six
Kagawa being replaced by Nani
17 minutes to go
Suarez hits one over the bar
Finally, United have kept possession for a few minutes
A cross cut out but still have the ball
Welbeck tries too much in the box... cleared
ooh, Nani finds RVP at the back post... Great save
Ball goes back in and RVP puts it in... offside though
Southampton have had over 65% of the possession this match!
Free kick right on the edge of the box for Southampton
BTW, RVP was JUST offside
His first header was brilliantly saved
Lambert with a free kick inside the D... well saved by De Gea
1 of 4 added minutes been played at the Em
12 to go in Manc
ooh Suarez with a shot and parried but went to no one
Inside last minute
Game over at the Em... Desmond has pitched his tent
Not bad after being two down
Spurs have drawn 1-1 at Norwich
Liverpool still haven't beaten a team above them in the table this season
Please get an underserved third United
Roon has a break chance... useless dribbling and footwork
Rugby tackle by Rafa... in the book
8 minutes to go
Everton have held on for the win
United had a five minute spell of being on top... Southampton are back on top... like the previous 35 of the half
Carrick loses the ball... clueless that someone was around him
Sotton have really pressured Carrick and he has been hopeless
Struth.. Sotton stroll in the box.. Great block of a Lambert shot by Vidic
I am back from teaching a lesson to my next class.I see it's still 2-1 to United. Did I miss much?
What happened to Bob? Is he teaching a class?
I think he is
MUR... UNITED HAVE BEEN SECOND BEST THE WHOLE HALF!!
RVP did have a point blank header brilliantly saved and then had a goal called back for offside from the next cross
Besides that.... United can't get it out of their own half
I AM NOT EXAGGERATING
Another chance... United survive
Le Fondre gets a goal back for Reading 1-2
All students are working in teams helping each other and just told me they understand the entire assignment.
LOVELY JUBBLY!
Lovely jubbly indeed
This has been dire
It was the same at St.Mary's . I know sotton are not pushovers, but we should do better.
COME ON YOU ROYALS
United are just kicking the ball into the other half.. no one is there
Southampton definitely deserve a point... at the least
Mark Lawrenson, at Old Trafford for BBC Radio 5 live
Man Utd 2-1 Southampton
"I have never seen Manchester Unitd so lethargic, and the pitch is the worst I've seen it in a long time. United have been away in Qatar, and look a little leggy."
Southampton have completely dominated the second half
Crowd is getting on them
IT IS JUST PATHETIC!
Three added minutes... we've started them already
I would never take a team to a warm climate in the middle of winter. It invites complacency.
I better hear SAF say that we were second best
Fulham extend their lead against West Ham... 3-1
Are the Hammers in trouble
United being pinned back all the time
They had a good five minutes this half and that has been it!!
a minute to SURVIVE
The Hammers have been in a slump. Not good news for Jonno
RVP has been atrocious too
30 secs to go
I leave for San Antonio at lunch tomorrow.
The magic watch!
Struth... United are rocking... lots of pots at goal... blocked... that's it
Three points but I am completely gobsmacked with this performance!
I am not even celebrating the win.... disgusted
Have a save trip to the Alamo
United hold on top win 2-1, but from what I hear an awful performance.
United regain their seven point lead but this really isn't good enough
YES!!!
READING HAVE TIED IT UP VERY LATE!!!!
BRILLIANT
Ta, UWS. I will leave for the Alamo City. Have fun at the Math Counts Competition.
Le Fondre again
United were impressive in the first half... they were completely dominated in the second half!
2151:
GOAL - Reading 2-2 Chelsea - Adam Le Fondre (90 mins)
Unbelievable! He's done it again!
Reading pump a long free-kick downfield, Jimmy Kebe and Hope Akpan help it on and Adam Le Fondre plants a beautiful side-footed finish into the roof of the net.
The superest of all super subs?
Agreed, UWS.Thank you Desmond for visiting the Bridge.
Take care MUR
Sorry I meant the Madjeski
The final whistle blows at Reading and Desmond has stayed here too!
94th minute equalizer!
Cheers UWS. Great chatting.
Even though United were absolutely atrocious in the second half, it has been a great midweek for them!
Gained two points on Citeh, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool
Only Everton kept pace with United
Huddersfield have beaten Palace
They go up to 16th place
Palace could have gone third
Here is the up to date table
United 59 +28
Citeh 52 +26
Chelsea 46 +25
Spurs 42 +12
Everton 41 +10
Arsenal 38 +19
Liverpool 35 +12
Take care boys
I won't be around for Saturday's matches.

A win... but not a happy chappy
