Good Morning Boys... BACK INDEED!
Our first match up.. from the Stadium of Light... will it be EIGHTEEN points up
Will United want revenge for last season's mocking when Citeh scored their Championship winner?
No Rooney in the starting line up
Manchester United also make four changes. There is no Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck or Ryan Giggs. Rafael, Michael Carrick, Antonio Valencia and Shinji Kagawa come into the team.
I want to see some RVP goals today
RVP hasn't scored in seven league games. His most without a game is 8 for Arsenal
He NEEDS TO SCORE
Biggest wining gap for the Premier League is EIGHTEEN for United in 1999-200
Is the title over... I agree with Kyle from Manchester
Kyle, Manchester: "United still have games against City, Chelsea and Arsenal left. That's nine droppable points. I won't be celebrating anything until the title is mathematically ours."
LINE-UPS - Sunderland v Man Utd (1245 GMT)

Man Utd: De Gea, Da Silva, Vidic, Smalling, Buttner, Valencia, Carrick, Anderson, Young, Kagawa, van Persie. Subs: Lindegaard, Evra, Evans, Nani, Welbeck, Cleverley, Powell.
Referee: Kevin Friend (Leicestershire)
Lovely Jubbley... ESPN2's show starts
Sunderland better not play like Barca today!
Lady on the sideline from Down Under... STRUTH
THIS IS NOT UNITED'S STRONGEST SQUAD
This is my least favorite side for many a year
Morning, UWS - squad rotation in effect today with United playing Chelski in the Cup replay on Monday.

Uh - the LOB stutter right from the off - hardly an auspicious start to the morning.
MOTD's Guy Mowbray at the Stadium of Light
Sunderland v Man Utd (1245 GMT)
"In March 1997, I was at Sunderland's sole win over Manchester United in the last 23 years - a win which perhaps poignantly did not lead to an escape from relegation. Seeing Beckham, Cantona & Co beaten at Roker Park was a shock, but I don't remember it being as surprising as another home win this time would be."

Good morning UWS and BD. I sure hope it's eighteen today. I had a feeling it would be squad rotation with Chelski on Monday. Still a decent lineup.
Morning Bob
the stuttering hit me too
Morning Bob
the stuttering hit me too
Morning, MUR - that's the strength of the squad, in't it?
Man United... stronger than England.
Agree?
Sunderland look to be sucked into the relegation mix with a tough run in.
Struth - we need a speech therapist this morning!
It sure is. I think MUFC's squad is better than England's
Definitely stronger than England. I reckon the top club sides would always beat the national sides that they're in - Barca over Spain, Munich over Germany and so on.
Do you lot always play "Carmina Burana" before matches? Fairly ominous music for a footer match.
I just looked at the Sunderland run in. I wouldn't be surprised to see them at ER next season.
It's at the SOL so we should blame Sunderland.
Teams in the tunnel
I bet you John O'Shea was wishing he was on the the other line up!
HEre they come
You know, Five Live pundits were predicting the same thing yesterday. Tough run in for sure.
Morning MUR
Nice to get an extra hour of kip in; that all ends tomorrow with the clocks going forward in the UK.
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
MUR.. Bob and Steve are starting to talk smack about October's big match up between the Dahlgren's Blue Devils and Tom's Red Dragons
Surely, you're on the Nocito side!
Away we go... come on!!!
THE MUFC Academy factor is at +2 with Sunderland skipper, John O'Gay , and the return of Phil Bardlsey.
The only good news for Sunderland today is that I can't imagine any of the other bottom sides getting points this weekend. Arsenal will surely take care of Reading, I don't fancy Wigan against Norwich and Liverpool will be chasing the points against Villa tomorrow.
Nice and sunny here in WNY - and in Blighty.
They're off from the SOL
come on you blue and blacks
LUFC Academy factor is only +1 - Danny Rose.
Mild , overcast, and humid in Harlingen
How about the accuracy of my original post picture - got the kits right?!
Strruth... Vidic went down after he kicked the ball... Macca says it was from being kicked earlier
Hope so
Useless by Young... cut in and shoot!
Bob was right about him!
MUR is wisely keeping schtum on the subject of the Fredonia v. Cortland smackdown in October. I cannot wait!
I will remain neutral in the grudge match in October. A famous actor/comedian dropped out of Cortland.Wikkipedia called it SUNY Cortland.A clue is that he is stocky, my age,and my height.
Yashley was absolute pants when he came on for England against Montenegro the other day. Every ball in hit the first man.
PHEW! Horrible clearance by De Gea to Danny Graham, but the LUFC Academy boy was offside.
That is a brain teaser, MUR. I'll give it some thought.
I believe I posted an October question that I literally stumbled upon when ion wikki last night.
Knock it off Sunderland
Sunderland trying to bring it to United early doors.
Kevin James went to Cortland.... REMEMBER MUR... RED COMES BEFORE BLUE... ALWAYS!
McLean wins a corner off of Raffa. The corner heeaded on by O'Gay and N'Baye. Nice Man Yoo break
Young fouled outside the box by Bardsley
Young fails to cross asks for a free kick when he could have run in the box from the rebound
I've just noticed that you took my trivia challenge, MUR. I'll check the answers at half-time. You did get the "Red Devils" one right, though - Belgium!
Useless free kick from Young. Kevin James would have done better
Ian and Macca are ready to call the engravers - what say you, United fans?
Well done UWS. There's no slipping any past you when it comes to Cortland trivia!
Not quite . If we win today and a week from tomorrow then I might call the engravers
A bit better on the cross there from Yashley this time. United a bit light in the penalty area.
Finally a good cross by United.
Young's cross still doesn't find anyone
Kevin James....stocky? I'm stocky, MUR - Kevin James has his own zip code!
Typical Cortland product - come on, you Blue Devils!
THe derby is on Monday not Sunday
Halftime and it's Montrose 0 Rangers 0. If the Gers win today and next weekend then they clinch the Third Division title.
Oh - Butland nearly found his way through to goal. A bit lucky but nearly United's opener. Corner.
OH! Bttner was throug and Mignolet blocked for a corner.
Mignolet punched away a better corner from Young.
Good point Bob.Great description and comparison with Mr. James.I definitely agree.Sorry UWS. It is next Monday
Do you work on Monday boys?
I have the entire week off except for my college class on Tuesday and Thursday
United and CHelsea is on at 7:30
Leeds and Derby play at noon our time.. I think. It is on Sky so there will be a link
We could possibly have Manc Derbies on consecutive weekends.
Let's hope United have back to back games against Citeh!
I read that Cortland comment BD... them are fighting words!
It's considered a "Travel Day" for students, so no classes. I may or may not have a meeting in the afternoon.
We have school Monday due to STAAR testing . The freshmen take the writing test Monday morning. I will be around for the first half only. The match is on FSC.
Sunderland want a pen.. macca doesn't think so
I'm hoping that the Red Dragons run out a team full of Kevin James look-a-likes.
Come on, you Blue Devils!
I want a goal
COME ON UNITED!
I thought it was a penalty. Now United have possession.
Mignolet punches out a cross from Young heading on target
Useless again by Young... gets the ball at the back post and goes back with it!
What has happened to United's wide men?
Did you see my comment about Monday? I will be around for the first half only.We have school as the freshmen will be taking the Wring STAAR
STAAR testing should be abolished.
The last time Sunderland defeated us at their place, I was thin enough to play in a Prem match
State Testing should be abloshed!
What kind of ball in was that from Valencia?
Come on United... this is just not good enough
Why don't we hammer these teams
Useless by Valencia
How is this team so far ahead!!!!
I agree. Even the principals feel that way. There is some relief on the way.Currently a student needs fifteen STAAR tests to graduate. To make a long story short, a bill passed the state house reducing that to five tests per student starting next school year. Now it needs to pass the Senate. That should provide some relief. Also, they did away with the rule that it would count as 15% of the student's yearly grade.
If we don't win this, Citeh will start to believe
I agree with you, UWS, regarding state testing. It's a complete waste of time. I would have had Monday off if not for that.It is more of a disruption than anything else.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RVP?????
GOAL! A bit jammy but United have their goal. RVP will claim it?
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! RVP WITH A DEFLECTED EFFORT OFF OF TITUS!
Useless defending there from Bardsley and then Bramble. Double deflection from RVP's shot. They all count, eh?
0-1 United.
From the back view... I think it will be an og
Credit to Kagawa for the great ball down the left to RVP. He cut inside Bardsley and had a shot take a wicked deflection off of Titus.
RVP stays three goals behind Suarez on 22 goals for the season.
Definite OG
That could be , UWS. Titus with Doug Hefferanan like defending there?
N'Diaye had been booked seconds earlier.
Valencia does not deserve the number 7 shirt!
Ronaldo, Becks, Cantona, Robson, Best, Morgan... Nocito
Bardsley with a shot miles over and you wonder why he's still not playing for United.
By the way - how about those Gators!? Into the Elite Eight and cruising.
One of Matt's friends is here watching the match and he just said that Twitter is 7 years old... no Arsenal fan has ever been able to tweet... 'we've won a trophy"
A United change to be made? First thought it was Vidic coming off , now it's Raffa, according to Ian. I wonder why.
Early forced sub - Jonny Evans on for Rafa.
Raffa off injured as he is replaced by Jonny Evans.Smalling will move over to right back.
Rafa comes off. When they said hurt.. i thought they were talking about Vidic
Free kick to United... curled shot by Young Saved... Why hit it short first?
Mognolet saves easily from Young off the free kick.N'Diaye with a lecture as he's already been booked. Another one and he could be off for an early bath,
OH! Titus makes up for the goal with a saving tackle as Anderson was surely about to score.
Can United score a second?
OR..will they struggle in the second half and hang on
Nice pass by Kags... Anderson should have shot first time
Oh - great move by United and Anderson was nearly in. Stayed on his feet even after contact.
Valencia cuts in and absolutely no idea what to do with the ball
It's a Manc vs Geordie day as Citeh host the Toon, the other Geordie team, at 11 AM?.
Thankfully, Sunderland have been toothless in attack. Steven Fletcher out and Seb Larsson with only a solitary goal the entire season. That says it all.
I don't fancy Sessign-whatever as a striker.
RVP with a shot saved easily at the near post off a pass from Young. He should have passed.
No . He's an attacking midfield player, but with Fletch out they have no attacking options during this vital run in.That may see the Black Cats in the Championship in August
Nice break from Buttner, but just overcooked to Young. Now RVP wins a free kick off of McLean.
The free kick from RVP is tipped over by Mignolet.
Great hit from RVP but Mignolet was able to tip over.
Smalling heads out for a goal kick under pressure from Mignolet.
Sunderland will surely be booed at halftime. One corner and no shots on goal. Not good enough when they are the home team.
ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH ASHLEY
I am pretty sure it will be given as a Titus OG.
Valencia wions a corner off of LUFC Academy Boy.One minute of stoppage time/
Volleyed over by RVP off a pass from Carrick and as I stated Sunderland booed as United lead 0-1 at the half.In all honesty, It has been easy for United.
Half-time - predictably 0-1 United but not entirely satisfactory performance.
Half time
So far so good but still not really good enough
Skyping Tony at the moment
I has stated that Martin should bring on Connor Wickham. I know he hasn't made the transition to the Prem, but why not? What has Martin to lose? I know that raises the ITFC Acadmey factor to two on the day the Whites travel to Portman Road, but ...
Say hi to Tony. Hope he's doing well.
Macca stated that this could be considered one of the great United sides if they win the League and Cup double, but did state they're not as good as the treble winning side. What say you, UWS?
NEVER
Tony says hello
AWAY WE GO... MAKE IT SAFE UNITED!
The second half is underway from the SOL.
GET ANOTHER UNITED!
United get us underway in the second half. No changes from Sunderland?
I thought you would say that.I hope all is well with Tony.
I thought they would bring on Connor Wickham to raise the ITFC Academy factor to +2 ahead of the Whites' match at Portman Road.
Useless effort from, N' Diaye. He can do that all match as far as I am concerned.
I thought so, too, MUR. He was apparently really good in the U-21 match this week. He surely couldn't do worse than the Black Cats front line so far.
YESSSSSSSSS!!!
ARGYLE SWEATER TAKE THE LEAD VS EXETER IN FIRST HALF STOPPAGE TIME OF A WEST COUNTRY DERBY.
ManYoo old boy John O'Shea picks up a yellow for a rash one on RVP.
Now John O'Gay booked for a clumsy foul on RVP.
It was a harsh yellow, IMHO. the free kick from RVP is blocked by LUFC Academy Boy
RVP looking for another deflected effort but he caught LUFC Academy straight in the mush.
I missed the U-21 match, but heard Wickham was excellent
Has John O'Shea come out of the closet, MUR? Speaking of that, some interesting banter about Robbie Rogers on my FB feed. I still think that's a publicity stunt.
Argyle Sweater have a 1-0 halftime lead vs Exeter in a West Country Derby.
Probably so, BD. Having fun at O'Shea's expense.
It's amazing how far off his earlier pace Adam Johnson has fallen. He was brilliant for Citeh.
Valencia with a useless cross. Old fashioned wing play, but crappy crossing.
He and McLean have been poor this season. That Partially explains why Sunderland are being sucked into a relegation dogfight.
That would be a vital win for the Argyle. They're still perilously close to the dropzone but it now looks as if Aldershot and York City might take the tumble instead.
Come on United... WIN THIS
Just got off Skype with Tony.. he says hello
Where's UWS gone? Dog walkies?
How is Ex-Chelskilad?
Come on United... attack with pace
Rangers were surprisingly held 0-0 at Montrose. They are one win away from clinching the Third division title and automatic promotion, or could clinch it today if Queens Park lose at home to Elgin City (Hampden Park ).
I've been enjoying the pictures of your nephew Jack on FB. He's got real rock 'n' rock hair!
He's doing well
He is a bit bummed. He has to be at Heathrow by 8 a.m tomorrow morning(clocks change overnight) to pick up Mike. Mike is returning from Bangkok after they had a show there
'walk in the park'... make it safe then
What pictures? From Jack?
Aldershot drew 1-1- at Rochdale yesterday and York play at Bristol Rovers later this morning.I think League 2 relegation will go down to the final match and that 52 points will be needed for survival in a tight division.
RVP with a yellow.. shouldn't have been
It wasn't that high, the player ducked
"One night in Bangkok makes a hard man humble!" La la la....
RVP booked for a high boot, but he didn't make contact the player at all. BLOODY RIDICULOUS.
IT IS STILL ONLY ONE NIL... EVERY BLOODY WEEK THIS HAPPENS!
Sunderland were mad to shop Crouchie to Stoke.
Nice one, Bob. Glad to see Tony and Mike together. Sounds like an early morning for Tony
Are United going to blow it!
COME ON UNITED!!
Twilight is down after taking a knock. Sunderland not happy that play has been suspended.
De Gea with a good punch... ref blows because he stayed down
He had the right to stay down
Great defensive header by Evans for a corner.De Gea punches away a cross and now he's down.I can see why Sunderland fans are upset when it seemed a minor collision.I guess a collision with Vidic is rather serious.
He did well with the punch
De Gea is still down
Reading vs Sotton is the early match next Saturday. A relegation six pointer.
Now a groggy De Gea is back up. He was quite winded.
1402:
BREAKING TEAM NEWS - Man City v Newcastle (1500 GMT)
Vincent Kompany is back in the Manchester City side after injury, while Edin Dzeko continues to partner Carlos Tevez in attack. Yaya Toure is also in.
Did you see Mancini was annoyed with Vinnie for playing for Belgium when he hasn't played for Citeh in months
Old fashioned drop ball... like to see it
WOW! Sunderland contested the drop ball when United were going to clear it!
I did see that. Roberto was really irate!
25 minutes... come on United... WE NEED A GOAL
Rangers only draw nil nil... not Champs yet
Here's the link for Soccer Saturday:
http://www.firstrow1.eu/watch/177629/1/watch-soccer-am-preview-show!.html
Another Sunderland corner and a good in swinger from Adam Johnson, but a comical volley from Sessignon , strengthning Bob's case against the "emergency" striker.
Sunderland asking questions... COME ON UNITED!
Correct UWS. Rangers one win away from clinching or if Queens Park lose to Elgin City at Hampden later this morning. Either one will clinch it for Gers.
I agree. I'm not liking their spell of pressure.
I have had the SS link going since it started at 8 o'clock
United doing the Barca possession trick now.
Would Doug and Carrie Heffernan do any worse playing up front for Sunderland?
Well....exCUSE me....
nice cross by RVP... Valencia should have anticipated and beaten the defender there!
The last time Sunderland defeated United in the Prem, I was thin! Before my kids were born!
Absolute rubbish from Sessign-whatever.
BREAKING TEAM NEWS - Swansea v Tottenham (1500 GMT)
Gareth Bale is fit to start for Tottenham, who have Brad Friedel in goal in place of Hugo Lloris. Lloris is not even on the bench. Swansea have Chico Flores back in defence.
UWS may not have appreciated my Heffernan remark. Bob probably does.
We're all still thin...compared to Cortland alum Kevin James.
Come on, you Blue Devils!
