I've got a cracking link up through First Row for the clash between Morecambe and Wise v. "Two Relegation" Wolves. Not sure why this is the marquee match, but I'll be updating all the others through the afternoon.
The team news out of Morecambe today:
Morecambe - Roche, Wright, Diagne, Drummond, Hughes, Parrish, Fleming, Williams, Sampson, Amond, Mwasie.
Wolves - Ikeme, Doherty, Foley, Davis, Batth, Rockord, Ismael, Ebanks-Blake, Griffiths, Cassidy, Forde.
The home side getting us starting in a super orange kit with white sleeves. A bit like Arsenal but orangey.
Oh - Drummond had an early pop at the Wolves goal but Karl Ikeme was equal to it.
Morecambe and Wise have really come out of the traps in the early moments here. Wolves still seem ashamed at being in the third tier for the first time in decades.
Good afternoon, Bob. Just got back from running some errands on a sultry afternoon. Morecambe and none too wise in the Arsenal strip?
Wolves weathering the early onslaught and are starting to dominate possession. Kenny Jackett will be pleased by that.
Afternoon, MUR - glad that you've got the family all back together again. Thanks for joining me.
Harry's Evil Lads take the lead at Exeter City while Tranmere lead Jayne Mansfield.
Decent ball in but Sampson didn't have the wherewithal to bring it down and hit it.
Cheers Bob. Great to be on board.
Forde is the target man up front and Cassidy found him well. Just wide with his effort.
That counts as a missed sitter for the toothless Wolves who were held 0-0 at Preston on Saturday
I don't recognize anyone on the Wolves side. they are really rebuilding.
Burnley take the lead at York and the Fake Dons take the lead at Northampton.
Crewe lead T Bury and Middlesborugh lead at Accrington Stanley, Tied last with Pompey
Quick check on the early scores:
Crewe are 0-1 up at Bury.
QPR are 0-1 up at Exeter.
Boro are 1-0 up over Accrington
Tranmere are 1-0 up over Jayne Mansfield
Yorkie Bar are 0-1 down to Burnley
and The Evil Dons are 0-1 up at Northhants
The Foxes take the lead at Wycombe
Just to let you know, I'll be driving down to D.C. tomorrow for my uncle's funeral and other family events this week. I'm planning on buzzing in early so that I can take in the Leeds v. Chesterfield on the lappy before heading to the viewing tomorrow evening. Are you around?
The only Wolves players I recognize are Carl Ikeme, who started in goal for them last season and Lee Griffths , The Scottish international signed from Hibs. I am surprised they were able to sign Griffiths , who was being scouted by some Prem teams.
I will be around tomorrow. The Televised match is Carlisle vs Blackburn. I know it will be a difficult day, so if there is anything I can do please let me know.
I was doing the same thing with the Wolves side. Totally different team to the one relegated from the Prem with the likes of Karl Henry and Kevin Doyle.
Cheers, mate!
Derby County take the lead at Oldham and Bury tie it up vs Crewe. UW take the lead at Bristol Rovers. Daggenheam take the lead at Brentford.
Bristol City take the lead at Gillingham. Crawley take the lead at Cheltenham. They're off the races.
Charlton take the lead vs Oxford while Coventry take the lead at Orient.
Brighton take the lead vs Newport County and Wycombe tie it up vs the Foxes. Bob will be pleased to hear that about his Sunday opponents.
Rotherham take the lead vs Not a Big Club in an evil local derby.
Wahay! Rotherham have taken the lead over Not a Big Club!
Wolves are not showing me anything that leads me to indicate they are on their way back up. Poor from the purples unless it's their reserve side.
Bolton take the lead at Shrewsbury
Orient tie it up vs Coventry
Bury lead Crewe 2-1
Bury lead Crewe 2-1
What in the flippin' heck are those fans feasting on.
A couple of Morecambe fans tucking into some pies there.
Shrewsbury tie it up vs Bolton.
Not a great start to the season for promotion favorites Bolton - they're now being held at Shrewsbury.
Thanks for clearing that up. It looked a hamburger container.
Not sure if I will be around for the second half . Melanie has violin practice.
UW two up at Bristol Rovers
I'll be buggering off for a concert at half time as well. No worries.
Morecambe and Looking Somewhat Wise will probably have some more difficult League 2 matches than vs this tame looking purple Wolves side.
I would imagine so. Wolves look fairly hapless. I can't see them getting out of L2 on this evidence with the likes of Crewe around.
Wolves will probably be counting on Lee Griffiths, the 22 year old Scottish international signed from Hibs.I am surprised they were able to sign him when he was wanted by some Prem clubs. Despite his young age, he is almost as bald as you and your bruv.
Yeovil take the lead at Southend.
DId you mean to say L1? They look to be a mid table L1 side at best, IMHO.
Alex Trebek would do better to direct his remarks at the Wolves board for letting the club get in this shambolic state than to pick on a kid.
Sorry - yes, L1.
Not a Big Club tie it up at Rotherham in a local derby. Bob will not be pleased.
Not pleased at all.
David is booked for Wolves for a foul just outside the box as Forest take the lead vs Jeff's team.
David is booked for Wolves for a foul just outside the box as Forest take the lead vs Jeff's team.
The Free kick is straight to Carl Ikeme.
Should be a United double header on Sunday. The Community Shield on FSc followed Foxes vs Whites on BEIN.
Accrington Stanley thrashed on Saturday, but tie it up at The Riverside.
Orient now lead Coventry 2-1 while Young Fergie take the lead at Colchester
UW now 3-1 up at Bristol Rovers.
Oh - off the post! A real let-off for the home side!
Close call as the Morecambe and Unwise keeper made a mess of a routine pass, but his defense cleared away
Lovely - can't wait for Sunday. I should be back in Blue Devil HQ Saturday evening.
Huddersfield take the lead vs last year's finalists ,Bradford City
Will you be chatting from Gooner HQ on Saturday?
Morecambe win their first corner.
Nah - I'll be on the road heading home. Will have to miss out.
Shot wide as wolves struggle to clear.
Halftime and 0-0 from the Northwest Coast of England. The L2 side holding their own and deservedly level.
Bolton now 2-1 up at Shrewsbury.
Off for a quick shower before taking Melanie to violin practice. Have a safe trip and my regards to Gooner and Family.
I'm off, mate - see you soon!
Cheers Bob. Rotherham now 2-1 up vs Not a Big Club.
