League Cup Third Round Live!
Does Jose love the Capital One Cup? Doubtful. But he and his lads have to travel up to Swindon tonight to meet those obligations regardless. Tune in with me to Chelsea's adventure at Swindon on BEIn this afternoon and follow the other fascinating 3rd Round fixtures today and tomorrow starting at 2:45 pm EST.

This is an excellent exercise in figuring out which players are in Mou's Doghouse right now. Here are the teams out on the pitch at Swindon:
Swindon - Foderingham, Thompson, Hall, Ward, McEveley, Kasim, Luongo, Pritchard, N"Guessan, Ajose, Ranger. Subs: Thompson, Storey, Barthram, Bedford, Raphael, El-Gabbas, Wood.
Chelski - Schwarzer, Azpiwhatever, Cahill, Sideshow, Bertrand, van Ginkel, Essien, de Bruyne, Mata, Willian, Torres. Subs: Ramires, Schurrle, Ba, Terry, Eto'o, Blackman, Baker.
Chelski get us underway at the County Ground.
Blimey - that didn't take long! Ravel Morrison has put the Hammers 1-0 up against Cardiff City at Upton Park in the first minute!
A lot of chatter on the 606 this weekend about how AVB has targeted the Capital One as a trophy that Spurs can win. Here's who he's put out tonight at Villa Park:
Friedel, Walker, Chiriches, Vertonghen, Fryers, Paulinho, Sandro, Lamela, Holtby, Defoe, Kane.
Don't think so, AVB.
The Citeh line-up at home to Wigan is also fascinating:
Pantilimon, Richards, Boyata, Lescott, Clichy, Milner, Fernandinho, Garcia, Lopes, Jovetic, Dzecko.
Van Ginkel is down clutching his knee in a really alarming fashion. Looks as if he's not going to be able to continue. Just what Mou didn't need.
Ramires to replace Van Ginkel. I wish they'd stop replaying the incident that led to the injury because it is grisly.
Oh - great strike off the free kick from Sideshow and Fotheringham did well just to parry it out.
The Hammers off to a lightening start - Jarvis has added a second goal against Cardiff in the 8th minute.
The Saints have taken the lead against Bristol City through Ramirez.
Kasim with a crude challenge as Essien was in full flight. Might have been a yellow at another point in the match.
Watford have taken the lead against woeful Norwich - Acuna with the goal there.
Great team move by Chelski only buggered up by Ramires shanking his shot well over.
Forest have taken the lead away to high flying Burnley in the all-Championship affair at Turf Moor. The forgotten Matt Derbyshire with the goal.
Everton continue their good form at Craven Cottage today - Naismtih with the 12th minute goal.
Oh - Torres was straight through on goal but big Fotheringham was able to block him.
GOAL! Now Torres does have his goal, sliding in at the back post to stab home.
That was all about Ramires run and pass to Mata whose shot was only tipped aside by Fotheringham. Torres was able to convert the tight rebound.
0-1!
Cor! A new era has begun at Sunderland with a goal by Giacherini which has them leading Posh.
Dzeko seems to always be good for a goal or two and he's put Citeh in the lead against Wigan.
GOAL! Ramires has been a revelation since he came on but that was all about Torres who turned slickly and then sent a sliderule pass to Ramires to finish with his left peg.
0-2 Chelski!
Derby County are 0-1 up at the Crisps through Martin.
So only the Villa v. Spurs and Hull v. Hudders matches are goalless now. Good value from the League Cup this evening.
Chelski fans now serenading Mou with a bit of "La Donna Mobile."
Cardiff are back in it. 2-1 there now with a goal back from Noone.
Ballhog Defoe has scored for Spurs away at Villa Park.
Burnley have leveled it through Ings now.
That's half-time and I'm on my way to class.
I'm back on Wednesday afternoon to follow the day's League Cup fixtures. I'm delighted to see that BEin is showing the big one - Man Utd v. Liverpool, while there is another link for the Newcastle v. Leeds match. Wahay!
In yesterday's action, Spurs, Burnley, Hull, Leicester, City, Soton, Sunderland, Chelski, Norwich, West Ham and Fulham all got through to the 4th Round.
Wahay - the coverage has started on BEIn and the cameras are directly entirely on Luis Suarez, who makes his Pool return tonight. Wonder if any of the United players look tasty to him?
Blimey - both Nani and Chicha are starting for United - haven't seen them in yonks!
The lineups at SJP:
Newcastle - Krul, Debuchy, Williamson, Coloccini, Dummett, Gouffran, Anita, Tiote, Marveaux, Ameobi, Cisse.
Leeds - Kenny, Byram, Wootton, Pearce, Warnock, Austin, Mowatt, Tonge, McCormack, Smith, Poleon.
Oh - Ross with a crack from distance hits the bar!!!!
Great start from us - MOT!
Still pressuring Newcastle, who had one half chance through Cisse.
Two corners in a row for us here. Come on!
Ameobi goes close for Newcastle - phew!
Oh - Sturridge had a chance but didn't hit it first time.
Stoke have taken the lead away to Tranmere through Stephen Ireland's goal.
BUGGGGGGGGERRRRRR!
Pappis Cisse has given Newcastle the lead around the half hour mark.
Lucas picks up his requisite yellow card.
Good afternoon, Bob. Sorry about the bad news at SJP. Hope that otherwise you are having a great day.
0-0 at half time at OT - this one could go the full chalk.
Hard to believe that the only scorers in the first half are the forgotten Stephen Ireland for Stoke at Tranmere and the out of form Cisse for the Toon.
We're back on for the second half.
GOAL! Chicha with a trademark innovative stabbing goal.
1-0!
Ray Hudson is in raptures about Chicha's "Balletic, Nureyev-like" effort there.
United in the lead early doors in the second half.
WAY HAY! About time he scored. I'll look forward to seeing that this evening.
Need a goal from the Leeds boys now - come on!
Only three goals so far in the League Cup tonight. Brum v. Swansea and the Baggies v. Arse are still goalless.
Hiya, MUR - sorry, I didn't see you pop on there. Great goal from Chicharito, eh?
Lovely jubbly . I am watching the match through BEIN's streaming video and killed a mosquito with my bare hands.
Kolo Toure picks up a yellow for a cynical tug back on Roon.
Hello Bob. No problems. Missed the goal by a matter of seconds.
Looks like both sides have decent lineups for this match
Beautiful through ball and horrible ball control from Kagawa. Should have been two up.
A stronger side from Liverpool - United have the B-team out including Nani and Chicharito.
That's why Kagawa can't get into the first team anymore. Poor by him.
Decent opportunity for Henderson and not far off.
Agreed. he should be in the B or youth team.!
Nani goes down easily after a kick by Henderson. Some refs would have awarded a penalty
Phil Jones heads out for a Pool corner.
Suarez takes it short then is tackled by Buttner. The next corner from Stevie G is headed away.
Three ties are at 1-0 and two at 0-0.The only teams to score are UNited, Toon , and Stoke.
Short and a shot right to Lindy. United go straight down and Nani balloons a shot to Row Y.Moyes not pleased. Was it Chicha?
We're definitely knocking on Newcastle's door but Matt Smith was offside there.
United counter through Roon and Nani gets it all wrong. Great cross from Buttner and volleyed horribly over by Nani.
MOT!
No real sense of urgency from Liverpool that I can detect.
Carrick warming up.
Actually, it has been end to end stuff. The final ball has been off for both teams.
Brum have taken the lead vs the holders , Swansea.
OH! Better from United as a long range effort from Kagawa was just over. Mignolet beaten.
Kags rifles one well over the bar.
well wide by Jose Enrique
So we have four one nillers and one nil niller. Not exactly a goal fest this evening.
BUGGGGGGERRRRRR!
Gouffran notches Newcastle's second from out of nowhere.
Brum are now two up vs the Swans. Are the holders on their way out?
Our run in this season's League Cup seems to be coming to an abrupt end.
Sorry about that Bob.
COME ON YOU WHITES!
Martin Kelly on for Lucas.
Victor Moses wins a corner off of Buttner.
The corner from Victor Moses was headed out and Suarez had a shot land in the side netting.
What a save by Lindy from a diving header from Victor Moses from close range.
Actually, right at him,but it had a good deal of power. Now Jones concedes a free kick and is booked.
OH! The free kick is off the top of the bar and over, but skimmed off of Jones. Corner to Pool. Thankfully the volley from Henderson off the corner is well wide.
Two subs for United ; Janusazj on for Kagawa and Carrick on for Chicha.
Gabby Overran nearly added a third and more insult to injury.
Henderson booked for a foul on Raffa inches outside the box after a nice one two with Roon.
Good save, Mignolet from Roon's free kick.
Great save by Mignolet from the Roon free kick Corner United. Roon to take short.Gets it back from Nani and his shot is pushed away by Mignolet.
And again - Mignolet keeps Roon's shot out.
Another short corner. Nani high and wide as usual.
Buttner goes down after contact with Toure. Clattenburg having none of it and rightly so.
Oh - great save, Kenny - and Rudy cleared off the line.
Naughty by Giggs on Suarez.
Not a sniff for Suarez this afternoon. He looks a shadow the player he was last season.
The Gunners take the lead at The Hawthorns.
Giggs fouled and Clattenburg calls play on as Roon has a shot deflected right to Mignolet.
This sis Suarez's first match back, so he is predictably rusty. I expect him to be back in form before too long.
Some bloke named Thomas Elsfield with the Arse goal. Wenger as usual not taking the League Cup seriously. The likes of Flappianski, the Verminator, Mr. Nachos and Nik "Paddy Pants" Bendter in the starting line-up.
Thomas Eisfeld with the goal for the Gunners. Gooner may presumably know something about this player
A real motley crew put out Wenger and he wouldn't have it any other way.
Any pants too baggy for Big Nik must fit Kevin James.
afters between Giggs and Henderson. Clattenburg sorting it out and not very successfully.
Down to about five minutes, now. We'll need to score in the next minute or so to put up a grandstand finish.
Brum three up vs Swansea. the holders are out.
Sturroidge wins a free kick by running into Jones.
Not surprised - the Swans are spread really thin this season with their European campaign.
Into the wall by Suarez. Lovely!
Absolutely correct Bob.
Pool nearly caught United napping there. Twilight was sharp at his near post.
Off the post by a Pool player from a short corner. This could have been level.
Nice run and pass by Suarez and Rahim Pound Sterling has a shot come off of Toure for a goal kick
Spitty is on for a brief cameo.
wellie on for Nani as we enter stoppage time.
My boy Nani trots off after a long night to be replaced by Welly.
Saido Berahino tie it up for west Brom vs the Gunners. Another world class player.
Nani was rusty tonight.
Stoke go two up at Tranmere deep in stoppage time.
The Toon win 2-0 vs Leeds.
Sorry Bob.
Another great save by Kenny. And that's it. Leeds are out of the League Cup, beaten 2-0 tonight by the Magpies. Back to concentrating on our league form, after three consecutive losses. Millwall away on Saturday.
United safely through to the 4th Round - congrats, mate - I'm off to the office for a shift before my late class.
United hold on to defeat Liverpool 1-0 and good riddance to those Scouses.
Thanks Mate.I look forward to chatting on Saturday. Cheers!
Stoke win 0-2 at Tranmere.
Swansea score a consolation goal deep in stoppage time as they trail 3-1 at St. Andrews. That is a final as the holders are out.
West Brom vs Arsenal has about seven minutes plus stoppage time remaining and appears to be heading for extra time as it is 1-1.
That's it for me. Over and out
Wilfred Bony with the Swansea goal, but it was too little too late.
