Morning, MUR - great to have you on board early doors this morning.
Do you have a strong cup of coffee going at this hour?
Forest vs the Hammers kicked off about three minutes ago as the in form Championship side host the badly out of form Premier League team
Good morning Bob. Great to be with you. The answer is yes. It just finished brewing.
The line-ups for this morning's early one:
Nottingham Forest: Darlow; Jara, Lascelles, Hobbs, Lichaj; Moussi, Lansbury, Reid, Abdoun; Paterson, Halford. Subs: Evtimov, Harding, Mackie, Majewski, Miller, Derbyshire, Cox.
West Ham: Adrian; Driver, Diarra, Potts; Jarvis, Morrison, Lletget, Moncur, Downing; Maiga, Whitehead. Subs: Spiegel, Lee, Turgott, Fanimo, Maguire, Gordon, Burke.
Referee: Martin Atkinson.
Good on you, mate - enjoy it!
Fat Sam is up in the stands gum-chomping this morning. He's under pressure but what about Villa boss Paul Lambert, who said mid-week that Prem sides could do without the Cup - and then his side were dumped out by the Blades.
Really horrible by Paul Lambert. A real disgrace and he should be banned, IMHO.
Fat Sam must concur with Paul Lambert with the reserve side he put out. Hammers fans will be none too pleased as they have a cup tradition.
Danny Whitehead, on loan from Stockdale, is debuting at the heart of the West Ham defense today. That tells you everything about the crisis at West Ham these days.
Downing has a cross cut out by Lascelles for a Hammers corner.
Darlow easily catches the corner from Jarvis.
Nice run by eric Lichaj a s his cross is cut out then young Moncur concedes a penalty.
GOAL!!!! ABDOUN SEND S ADRIAN THE WRONG WAY WITH A CHEEKY PENALTY AS FOREST TAKE AN EARLY LEAD
This young inexperienced Hammers team may be on a hiding to nothing. Sorry Johnno.
It's gone from bad to worse for the Hammers. Moncur has conceded a stone cold penalty.
And Abdou steps up and does a cheeky Panenka past Adrian.
1-0 Forest!
Jarvis wins a corner off of Lichaj
The Hammers take I t short and it's a disaster, but Ravel Morrison gets the ball back, but runs it out of play
The penalty was a clear cut decision. Moncur tripped Jamie Patterson in the box with badly miss timed challenge.
Abdoun is a really lively player. He gave Happy Harry's lads fits the entire match on Boxing Day.
A promising Forest possession, but not one of Abdoun's better crosses as it's straight to Adrian.
Back with a buttery bagel and cuppa. Good morning to everyone!
Great defending by Eric Lichaj as Jarvis fails to win a corner off a nice pass from Moncur
Ravel Morrison is about the only bright spark for Fat Sam's Hammers these days.
Lansbury fouls Morrison just outside the box.
Welcome back mate. You are correct about Morrison. Typical MUFC Academy.
Darlow superbly tips over a free kick from Morrison
Oh - Barlow with a great save to tip over Morrison's super free kick.
This is crackling - definitely keeping me awake on this early morning.
Potts and Maiga with wayward headers off a corner from Downing.
Agreed. If the Hammers are relegated, Morrison will be picked up by a Prem club. I am surprised Downing hasn't been starting. he was in good form earlier this season and might as well based on current form
I do like some of the African lads that Sam has brought in to cover for Andy Carroll.
Will Andy Carroll ever play again?
Lichaj has had an excellent match
Oh - nearly another penalty given up by Driver as the shot was deflected into the path of a Forest striker.
Surely that was a penalty as Halford was obviously tripped. It came off a deflected shot that broke his way.
Hard to say - he's been really injury prone.
The replay shows that Driver did get the ball and perhaps should get the benefit of the doubt.
The Hammers just giving possession back to Forest.
Lascelles straight at Adrian from really far out.
Great dipping shot though.
Poor pass by Abdoun after some slick Forest passing.
Great challenge by Lichaj but Maiga should have pulled the trigger first time.
Superb block by Lichaj on Maiga who was through on goal. Superb pass from Moncur.
Perhaps Lichaj should have stayed at ER. He's had a brilliant season at Forest
Some spirited chanting and singing going back and forth between the sets of fans. Mirrors the action on the pitch.
Halford has a header well saved by Adrian off a great cross by Abdoun. A really long Forest possession.
Maybe - he never got a look-in under Evil Neil's reign.
Agreed. Forest fans must be giving lots of stick. I sure don't see Hammers fans blowing bubbles.
I think he did, but you said he was pants whenever he played.
Some good skills in the West Ham midfield today but they just can't find the killer pass.
I think that was because he didn't play regularly. He never quite got into his rhythm. Same thing with Ross Barkley.
Oh - Lansbury rockets one just over the bar after some great approach work.
Adrian saved well from Lichaj in that move.
OH! The Hammers were sliced apart as Lichaj was through on goal, but a great kick save by Adrian then a Forest player shot just over.
More Forest pressure as the young Hammers are being taken to the cleaners
I was dropping off there for a second - may need a lie-down on the magical couch at half-time.
Downing wins a corner off of Gonzalo Jara.
Lleget , the young American, booked for fouling Abdoun on the break.
The commentator mentions that Sebastian Letgett is a Californian - never heard of him. I wonder if he's on Jurgen's radar?
A minute of stoppage time.
Not sure. is this his first match for the Hammers?
A power nap at the half?
Fat Sam is barking orders into the "hands free" device. A man of the 21st century, I suppose.
Half-time in an absorbing match - 1-0 Forest.
Forest lead 1-0 at the half against a young Hammers reserve side and have predictably dominated
I would say Fat Sam is more reactionary than visionary, LOL!
The Fox announcer is a real plaonker as he refers to the Evil Blades as a Championship side. An unforgiveable error.
The second half is underway
Bit of a blast of Paul McCartney's "Mull of Kintyre" to start off the second half. I wonder if that's a ritual for Forest.
I agree with UWS - Fox seem a really amateurish operation after watching NBC all season.
I do too. No wonder why NBC won the bid.
Abdoun shoots straight at Adrian off a great solo run. It's been all Forest to start the second half.
You are observant. I did not even notice the song. It could be their theme song.
Driver blocks from Patterson. The cross from Abdoun is too long. Another lengthy Forest possession.
Downing has a shot deflect off of LAscelles for a corner after a horrible pass from Abdoun.
The corner is headed away and Jarvis easily tackled.
Whitehead has a shot blocked for a Hammers corner. Holt heads away the corner from Jarvis.
A bit slower paced in this second half - the first half was really buzzing.
Two changes for West Ham then. Moncur and Diarra off and a couple of kids on.
Fat Sam makes a double substitution. Matthias Fanimo on for George Moncur and Reece Burke, the 17 year old on for Aliou Diarra for a first team debut
Hard to believe Fat Sam is taking the FA Cup seriously.
Fox referred to the Blades as a Championship side. Worse than amateurish?
No - it seems like an exercise in running out the kids to blood them a bit.
Dan Harding on for Eric Lichaj.
The Hammers knocking on the door now.
A poor start for HArding, conceding a free kick near the corner flag and Darlow saves superbly from Lleget and the Hammers win a corner off a spell of pressure.
Darlow saves at the near post from Morrison off a solo run from a shot corner. The next corner is cleared.
Danny Whitehead concedes a free kick to Forest
Lansbury heads over the free kick when he head a free header. Great free kick from Andy Reid
Starting to crash - off to the couch for a tick.
Lansbury fails to kill off the match as he shoots high and wide.
Graham Turgott makes his Hammers debut as he is recalled from a loan to Colchester on for Downing
GOAL !!! 2-0 JAMIE PATTERSON HAS SURELY CLINCHED A PLACE IN THE FOURTH ROUND FOR FOREST
A really simple goal as A Forest clearance was lumped into the Hammers half and young Reece Burke failed to deal with it. Halford put Patterson through as he scored with a great finish.
Patterson should have had a second as Abdoun ran through the Hammers defense and Patterson sliced a shot horribly wide.
GOAL !!! 3-0 AS LANSBURY LAID IT ON A PLATE FOR PATTERSON'S SECOND. GREAT RUN BY ABDOUN
The young Hammers on to a real hiding?
Darlow superbly tips over a shot from Turgott, the debutant.
Simon Cox on for Greg Halford.
Nearly a fourth as Adrian superbly saved a close range header from Simon Cox off a great cross from Abdoun
GOAL !!! 4-0 AS PATTERSON HASA HAT-TRICK WITH A NICE FINISH OFF A SUPRB PASS FROM ANDY REID.
Fat Sam's youth experiment has gone horribly wrong.
OH! Headed just over by Simon Cox off a great cross by Andy Reid from a pass by Abdoun on the break.
Matt Derbyshire on for Patterson, who gets a deserved standing ovation.
Lansbury drags an effort well wide
Morning Boys
Surely Big Sam's days at Upton Park are numbered
Burke concedes a Forest corner off a pass from Abdoun. Taken short and Simon Cox shoots straight at Adrian.
Good morning UWS. Fat Sam put out a youth team for this match. He's done a Paul Lambert in the FA Cup.
Matt Derbyshire booked for refusing to let Adrian release the ball.
The draw for the fourth round is immediately after this match
Jarvis has a shot deflected just over for a corner
The corner from Jarvis is headed away. three minutes of stoppage time.
I don't have FS2. It costs extra so I didn't bother
I have a link working for the Forest match as Forest score a fifth!!
I also have a link for the FA Website for the draw as well
GOAL !!! 5-0 AS ANDY REID EASILY SCORES THANKS TO UNSELFISH PLAY BY ABDOUN ON THE BREAK AS THE YOUNG HAMMERS WERE CAUGHT CHASING THE MATCH
Fans singing,
You're getting sacked in the morning
I will be on a link for the draw. I am watching FS2. I am surprised you don't get it. Poor by Time Warner.
It's a full strength Forest side vs a Hammers youth team
Struth… could have been number six from a West Ham throw-in!
And there is the final whistle
Big Sam should go
Don't treat the FA Cup like crap!
Forest easily defeat West Ham's youth team 5-0.
Cor! The final whistle has gone. I was aware that there was something going on while I was napping but 5-0!
That's got to be curtains for Fat Sam now.
Agreed, UWS. It doesn't get any easier as it's Citeh in the League Cup semis in midweek.
I hate what is happening with the FA Cup
The managers are treating like crap but then you look at the grounds… they're half empty!
The fans are showing no respect for it as well!!
Wonder which link will give me the draw first
I think i have have the FS2 link going
I also have the FA link
They are showing highlights of yesterday's game
Agreed . The youth experiment failed miserably. Got a link going for the FA Cup draw and switched over to FS1
I have the ITV link going. An interview with Andy Reid and Jaime Patterson.
I have FS1 going
Will the draw be on this. I think the match doesn't start until 9;15
Agreed UWS. The FA Cup is a tradition and it's a disgrace the way it's being treated
Who is this clown doing the goals wrap-up on FS2?
I think you said 2:00 GST which would be 9 AM EST
It isn't just tradition, it is an IMPORTANT trophy!
FS1 show is about to start
Roy Keane and Lee Dixon stating what UWS said about Fat Sam
Agreed, UWS.
The Wally and the Special One having a bit of a huddle in the tunnel pre-match.
surprised the didn't give each other a little peck on the cheek!
Michael Crick in the Torygraph says: "How to Wreck the FA Cup, part 1: hold the fourth round draw at 2pm on a Sunday, before 5 of the 3rd round ties are played. Why such a hurry?"
Hear hear!
Martin and Paul Allen , two ex Hammers will surely be livid about what they saw today.
My FA link has started but the FS numpties still yapping
Very true Michael
agreed. I thought they would have held the draw after the United match
Arsenal are number 27
Chelsea 31
The Fox numpties referred to the Blades as a Championship side. Unforgiveable.
FS aren't going to show the draw!!!
Bags are being emptied
The Allen's about to begin the draw.

Sad news indeed,. Eusebio was one of the all time greats.
Poor, lame interview from Fat Sam. Really poor excuses.
Celtic four up at St. Mirren. It was 0-0 at the half.
Fox with the fourth round draw five minutes after it was posted on the LOB.
Pathetic from the Fox boys.
Jose with close to a full strength lineup. we may complain about him, but credit to him for taking the Cup seriously.
We're away at the Baseball Ground (sorry, the Ricoh).
Oscar bundling into the box but he couldn't keep the ball with him.
Do you mean Pride Park? The Ricoh is in Coventry.
A cheeky chip from Eto'o but about a foot over
Yeah - I'm knackered and I can't keep up with all of these corporate stadia names.
Odd how a corner has been given. Eto'o bundled the keeper out off a pass from Oscar and run from Essien. The corner is cleared.
I don't blame you. It's been a really busy morning on the LOB.
And Jose's tactics are putting me to sleep.
Agreed. I thought he would attack a Championship side.
you said Jose and wally had a cuddle in the tunnel?
How has the game been so far
I am off for a walk in a minute so I will miss more of it as well
Jaime ward thought he had a corner. Route one stuff from wally's lads as Chris Martin beat Sideshow to put Ward through
You haven't really missed anything. Typically boring Chelsea.
Adam Johnson gives Sunderland the lead vs Carlisle United
Celtic win 0-4 at St. Mirren
When Martin Tyler says that the match is "shaping up nicely," he means that nothing has happened yet.
Anton Rodgers, son of Brendan, is on the bench for Oldham today at Anfield
Isn't that going to get dad mad for not starting his son…. Oldham….you're going to take a hell of a beating
Last time Chelsea were knocked out at this stage was when United beat them in 1998
Agreed Bob. A quick walkies, UWS?
Eto'o beats the offside trap off a through ball from Essien, but stumbles as he was about to shoot.
United won 5-3 at the Bridge that day?
United won 5-3 at the Bridge that day?
If Chelsea lose, there won't be a single all Premier League tie in the next round!
After being Five Nil up btw
Not gone yet
Kathy and I are both going and she is getting ready
Carlisle United tie it up at the SOL.
Stevie Gerrard is starting for Pool
Lucas, Suarez and Coutinho all on the bench
Dress warmly for walkies.
No all Prem ties because too many teams are not taking the cup seriously as illustrated by Pool's starting lineup.
What is with Caps… five players have over 100 for Chelsea
Do international teams play so much more often?
It doesn't seem like it. The only thing I can think of is that competition qualification takes more games.
But there is not Home Internationals
Arsenal were last knocked out at this stage when Bruce Rioch was their manager
I think there are more qualifying matches than when we lived in England.
Well, only Villa, Newcastle, West Brom and Spurs were knocked out yesterday and West Ham today
Only Villa and West Ham were knocked out by non Prem teams
Citeh held by Blackburn , but not as bad as previous years.
By the way, what did Big Sam say in his interview?
Tom Esutace booked for a trip on Essien. Great position for a Chelsea free kick. Curled wide by Oscar.
He said that he had no choice , but to play the side he played due to the semi vs Citeh and how Citeh he played a day earlier. He said he's the manager and he will decide what's best for the club. Also wanted to know why teams play reserve sides in the earlier rounds of the League Cup and no complaints are made, but feels he is being picked on for playing a reserve side today
Off for walkies now
Wish me luck… it's bloody ZERO
I'll be back
