Europa League Thursday
I don't often watch the Europa League, the ugly stepsister of the Champions League. It's a really messy tournament with loads of rubbish sides and then bigger sides dumped in from the CL midway after the group stage. But it's a bitter cold afternoon again in WNY and the footer is on, so I'll be manning the LOB dashboard for the time being. Join me if you're equally snowbound or footie starved.

I'm tuning in to the tail end of Porto v. Napoli. The Portugeezers have just gone 1-0 up with twenty minutes left to play. They'll need more than that to take in to the cauldron that is Napoli.
Spurs are in a bit of turmoil this week after Tim Sherwood's scathing remarks about his side's performance at the weekend. Here's how he's lining them up:
Spurs: Lloris; Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Naughton; Lennon, Sandro, Paulinho, Eriksen; Adebayor, Kane Subs: Friedel, Fryers, Rose, Bentaleb, Chadli, Townsend, Soldado.
Benfica: Oblak; Silvio, Luisao, Garay, Siqueira; Amorim, Fejsa, Sulejmani; Markovic, Cardozo, Rodrigo. Subs: Artur, André Almeida, Jardel, Perez, Djuric, Gaitan, Lima
Benfica will certainly be a test today. They're weak at the back but there are plenty of goals in the front pairing of Cardozo and Rodrigo.
The same can't be said of Soldado, who's finally been relegated to the bench. He's been pants all season.
In the earlier kickoffs, Porto have run out 1-0 winners.
Basel are currently 0-0 with Red Bull Salzburg.
And Valencia are romping 0-3 over Ludogorets whoever the hell they are.
Teams are out on the pitch now listening to the ER anthem.
And we're away at Shite Fart Lane.
Juve already 1-0 up over Fiorentina. They are flying this season. A good bet for this trophy now.
So not a great night last night for Spurs. Their 0-0 draw against Benfica makes it very difficult for them to get a result out of this fixture.
Just a quick check then on the PPP members still in the Europa:
Benfica - MUR
Sevilla - What's Up Wheaton Simon
Spurs - Chelskilad, Matt, Sporting, UWS, WHR, Yellows
Valencia - Blue Devil, Gooner71
Benfica actually won 1-3 at SFL , which pleased me for obvious reasons. Looks as if seven LOBERS will be out of contention as Sevilla lost 0-2 vs Real Betis in all Spanish matchup. I guess it will be the Dahlgrens and Yours Truly battling for EL points.
