Arsenal v. West Ham Live!
I'm taking the afternoon off to enjoy this afternoon's Premiership action - and it's a crucial one when it comes to that vaunted fourth spot in the Premiership. The Gunners, once top of the pops for much of the early part of the season, are now chasing Everton for that one. Tune in to a clash between continental flair and dinosaur football. I'll be waiting for you....

It's 0-0 two minutes in.
Cheers mate. The Gunners vs the Hammers today and the Toffees vs Palace tomorrow.
Do you have a warm cuppa during an April blizzard?
That should tell us a lot, for sure.
I do indeed, mate. Kate's got a jar of lovely Irish Breakfast tea that I've been working my way through.
Well done Kate. She seems very well prepared and seems knowledgeable about footie cuisine.
Gooner will be a Palace fan tomorrow.
The Hammers dominating early doors.
Nocerino is running Sagna ragged on the left side.
UWS said that if Arsenal finish fifth and win the cup then seventh place will be the final EL spot instead of Hull City.
A relegation dogfight between Charlton and Barnsley in the Championship this afternoon. Barnsley will be desperate for an away win.
A Charlton win and they are all but safe.
Interesting for you lot. Are you an Everton fan in the league and an Arsenal fan in the Cup then?
True - Blackpool are in real trouble after our win the other day.
I'm not sure . I'm not too keen on United being in the EL, A really cumbersome competition, but I know they need European footie to attract decent players. The Gunners in fourth would help me in the PPP, but I have all but conceded that. A real puzzle.
Andy Carroll heads over a cross from Joe Cole, who did well to win a tackle. Joe Cole really seem s in the mood this match
Jarvis whips in a cross and Carroll connects with it. Should have been a corner.
Might have been a penalty as well!
This won't be a walk for the Gunners.
It sure won't . I could see this ending in a draw.
OH! The Hammers missed a sitter as the Gunners failed to deal with a predictable set piece.
Diame should have buried that one, for sure.
A horrible miss. The Hammers won't get many better chances than that.
I agree with the commentators - 13 goals is not enough for Olivier Giroud. Arsenal should be in the market for a striker in the summer. Who knows where they might have been if they'd signed Suarez.
I agree. That may explain why they are interested in RVP. If they had Suarez then surely they would have won the Prem this season.
The Gunners look flat and uninspired. Surely, Gooner must be pulling his hair put over yet another mediocre performance.
Oh - what a miss by Giroud - Caz found him well but there was no conviction in that shot. Adrian had no problem dealing with that.
Apparently there is a light crowd at the Emirates tonight - are some fans boycotting the side?
Now Gooner knows what it's been like watching United this season.
I sure don't blame them. They have been Boring Boring Arsenal!
Not sure that Kim Kallstrom is much of an addition to the Arsenal.
Bloody Hell!! When did they sign him. Add Sonogo to the list of flops .
Apparently Sanogo's nickname around the place is "Sir No Goal." Boom boom!
Might be useful for the Arsenal to have a year out of the Champions League.
GOAL! Jarvis scores!
Nocerino again was the danger man and when the ball popped lose, Jarvis put his head in the danger zone to put the Hammers in front.
0-1!
WOW !!! I missed a goal while I was passing out papers. Gooner must be throwing objects at the travel agency
I just barely missed the goal . Nice Sonogo comment.
Barnsley with that vital away goal at Charlton. and Crawley take the lead vs Tranmere
Class just ended . Now I am starting my conference period.
GOAL! Poldi finds an equalizer for the Arsenal. Brilliant left foot strike by the German.
1-1!
GOAL !!! 1-1 POLDI TIES IT UP FOR THE GUNNERS. I SAW THAT ONE. POOR HAMMERS CLEARNCE OFF A GUNNERS THROW WENT TO ROSICKY AND HIS PASS WAS TUCKED AWAY BY POLDI IN THE CORNE.R
Gonner dancing at the office.
Two minutes of stoppage time.
Halftime at the EM and it's 1-1.
Barnsley up to third from bottom, two points behind Charlton, three behind Blackpool and four behind Brum and Donny.
The second half is underway from the EM
We're back on for the second half, the home side getting us underway.
Could be a priceless three points for Barnsley.
UWS was a naughty boy with that Gary Speed comment this morning.
Clive Allen is putting forward a pretty compelling case for why Andy Carroll is failing as a striker for West Ham.
winnie Reid hobbling off foul on Caz
He hasn't played that many games for the Hammers due to a long term injury. He did fail miserably with pool
Thompkins cuts out a cross for a Gunners corner.
Thompkins cuts out a cross from Caz for another corner
GOAL! The Em faithful are singing "Hey Jude" for their French striker as he fires in a second goal for the Gunners. His 14th.
The corner from Caz is cleared.
GOAL !!! 2-1 GUNNERS AS GIROUD SCORES HIS 14TH PREM GOAL OF THE SEASON. IT WAS A HAMMERS STYLE GOAL. THE CORNER WAS HEADED AWAY AND A LONG BALL FROM THE CENTER CIRCLE WAS CHESTED DOWN BY GIROUD AND TUCKED AWAY AT THE NEAR POST.
Gooner dancing in the streets of DC?
Halifax take the lead at Grimsby in a playoff six pointer.
Diame booked for a foul on Giroud just outside the box. I think the Gunners striker made the most of that. it seemed really soft.
Great save by Adrian from the free kick from Poldi
Not sure that Gooner wants the Gunners to place fourth this time.
Kallstrom really late with that tackle on Nocerino and deservedly booked as he looks way off the pace.
True . Then Wenger would be around for yet another season. would fifth and a cup win be enough to keep him in a job. It would end a nine year trophy drought.
I heard that Gooner just emailed Desmond a match ticket from the travel agency
Andy Carroll was stuck marking Giroud for that second Gunners goal and predictably , was not successful in marking the French striker.
The long missed Aaron Ramsey is about to come on. That will warm the hearts of many Arsenal fans.
Kidderminster take the lead vs Cambridge . If that result holds then Luton will clinch promotion to the Football League this evening.
Barnsley go two up at Charlton.
Rosicky comes off and Ramsey gets a huge ovation.
There is that long awaited substitution as Ramsey is on for Rosicky.
Kallstrom with another foul on Nocerino. He seems to be begging for an early bath.
Definitely riding a fine line - Fat Sam is doing his nut on the sideline.
Probably more interesting than watching the match.
GOAL! Poldi seals it for the Gunners!
Ramsey was key to that move, nodding on a ball in from Giroud into Poldi's path. Brilliant goal.
2-1 Arse!
GOAL !!! 3-1 GUNNERS AS POLDI HAS HIS BRACE. A LONG WA SPLAYED DOWN THE LEFT TO GIROUD AND HIS CROSS WAS HEADED DOWN TO POLDI WHO SCORED WITH A POWERFUL SHOT TO THE ROOF OF THE NET.
The gUNNERS LOOK SET TO GAIN THREE POINTS IN THE FIGHT FOR THAT FOURTH cl SPOT.
Kidderminster go two up vs Cambridge and Luton fans must surely be celebrating.
Carlton Cole on for Andy Carroll. why not play with two strikers when you need two goals?
Well, Everton might just retake the lead tomorrow.
Rangers go two up vs Forfar.
I agree with you, although Andy has been ineffectual in the second half.
I would think they would, but Palace have been surprising us all season.
That is true. I just thought that maybe he could knock down a few passes for Carlton Cole.
Jenkinson on for Caz.
Crawley go two up vs Tranmere.
Gooner pleased, but not Johnno.
Four minutes of stoppage time.
Gooner should be pleased but he wants big changes in his club, as do you.
Yes. we sure do.
Rangers go three up vs Forfar.
It;s over and the Gunners win 3-1. They move up to fourth, but may be back to fifth after the Toffees play Palace tomorrow.
Congratulations to Luton who are promoted to the Football League thanks to Kidderminster's 2-0 win vs Cambridge.
Barnsley still two up at the Valley as they approach stoppage time.
Nice chatting with you, mate. I'm off to finish off my afternoon.
Cheers mate . I enjoyed chatting with you. enjoy the rest of the afternoon.
Charlton score in stoppage time as they trail Barnsley 1-2.
Barnsley get a much need victory at Charlton as they win 1-2. That's it for me. Cheers.
