Match 18 - The Netherlands v. Australia
Morning, all. After that somewhat underwhelming Day 6 of the tournament, we're at the one week mark today with a full slate of second round group stage games. It all starts to get very serious for teams starting today. First up, those thrilling Oranjemen who took Spain apart last week. They've got a chance to knock the poor old Socceroos out of the tournament this afternoon. Join me for the ritual humiliation from noon onward.

An LOB stutter to start of the day's events. Wahay!
Of course, the implications for the Aussies are dire. Lose and their on a quick flight home to Sydney.
Tim Cahill caught Martens Indi there with a late one. No card for Tim and Martens Indi is taking a while to get up off the turf.
RVP running offside there. Tight decision.
The Aussies, to their credit, are not just sitting back and trying to absorb Dutch pressure.
Fifteen minutes gone and so far, so good for the Aussies. And they even have a corner!
Oh - RVP with his first half-chance. Robben dinks a free kick in and RVP guides a header toward goal from a stooping position. Maty Ryan dealt with it.
GOAL! Robben gets his third of the competition!
One mistake and Robben was away there and he was so quick to bear down on goal and slot home left-footed past Ryan.
1-0 Holland!
Oh my giddy aunt! Tim Cahill has equalized for the Socceroos with a sensational volley!
Wow - 1-1!
That may well be the goal of the tournament so far. Cahill's second.
Oh - free header there for De Vrij.
Mille Jedinak is going to have to get closer to these Dutch giants at set pieces or they're going to kill them.
After yesterday's relative quietude, the tournament has sprung back to life today. It needed it.

Breshiano now with a great chance at the back post. The Aussies are giving this one hell of a go.
The Dutch appeal for handball after a surgical through ball from Robben finds an overlapping Blind in the Australia box. I expected him to shoot from the angle but he attempted a square ball that struck Spiranovic on the chest.

Oh - that's a shame. Just as the Aussies were looking comfy, Tim Cahill has gone over the top and earned himself a second yellow, which will put him out of the third match with Chile.
Half-time - Didn't expect this scoreline, did you now? 1-1.
Van Gaal promised "a different Holland" for this game. He was true to his word. They've been outplayed and out-enthused. If they've taken the Socceroos lightly —and surely they have— perhaps halftime will give them time to reassess the threat and react accordingly.
Bloody hell - Leckie went straight down the pitch and knocks it in but he's ruled out for a push. Cor!
And now Van Persie is going to miss the next match after he gets a yellow for palming Spiranovic in the face as they tussle for the ball.
That was actually probably part of the Van Gaal game plan anyway.
But that wasn't part of the game plan!
Penalty to the Oz! Wow! Janmaat in truth didn't know much about the handball.
Jedinak steps up and....slots home!
Great penalty. 2-1!
Now the Aussies are on the attack again. They're not just going to sit back and defend this lead. What a performance!
GOAL! RVP fires back!
Robben played him through and he finished coolly for his third goal of the tournament. Now tied with Mueller and Robben.
The Aussies have a chance for a free kick now - this match is buzzing!
Now handbags between Cahill and De Jong after Nigel's typically XXX tackle.
Oh - Leckie with a big, big chance there provided by a mistake by Janmaat, who's still worried by that penalty, and the cross by Oar.
GOAL! Right down the pitch and Memphis Depay rattles in the third for the Dutch past a hapless Maty Ryan. The keeper should have done better.
3-2 Holland!
This game has had everything! Sadly for the Aussies, they'll still be all but knocked out in a few minutes after some stirring play in both matches.
Now the Dutch have a tasty free kick opportunity.
Robben takes it and it's easy for Ryan.
De Guzman comes off and some unpronounceable dude named Willnjardsum or summit like that comes on.
Taggart comes on for the impressive Tommy Oar who is gassed.
Decent chance from a free kick for the Oz.
Oh - doesn't quite come off. Cleared out.
RVP comes off - he'll have a wee rest now until the Round of 16 and hands over the armband to Robben.
The great news for the Dutch is that they've scored eight goals in two matches, six of which have been scored by RVP and Robben.
That's it - the Aussies may well be out after two great performances but they can hold their heads high.
3-2 Holland at the end.
