Lakenheath Old Boys
We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

From the pro-El Tri commentators, it appears that Mexico have been kicking Neymar quite a bit.
Good afternoon Bob. I am delighted you made it back home safely.
It's been a bit sloppy but dominanted by Brazil.
I've just seen the score from the early one, with Belgium pulling out what sounds like a late, somewhat unconvincing win against Algeria. The Desert Foxes took the look through a pen in the 25th minute and the Red Devils had to wait until the 70 and 80th minute for Fellaini to equalize and Martens to win it.
Cheers, mate - pretty easy ride with just a spot of traffic on the PA Turnpike that held me up for half an hour. How's your day been?
Sounds like Brazil are doing all the attacking and Mexico are having trouble keeping possession.
Correct. The Belgians were unconvincing. Hair Bear came off the bench to tie it up. They were too slow and were frustrated by the very defensive Desert Foxes.
Cesar does well to tip over from Herrera.
Doing well. It's been a quiet day on a hot DC day. Your dad is here watching with us.
Terrific - I hope you're enjoying it. Hot here too.
What's going on with the Brazilians barnets? It seems as if Dani Alves, Neymar and perhaps some others have had a frosting job overnight. I wonder what the inspiration is.
World class save by Ochoa from a Neymar header. Identical to Banks from Pele in the 70 World Cup.
Wow - great save!
Not sure. It looks bloody awful.
Seems like just a matter of time before Brazil score.
Brazil look to be going for the slow-slow-quick approach to goal now.
Oscar has wisely opted for his usual short back and sides.
Fred attempts a header but it's a tame effort from a corner.
Fred not the cat heads straight to Ochoa off the corner.
I took the picture of Gooner and dad.
Its very competitive. Mexico is giving Brazil a tough time.
Great picture, mate!
Just wide by Jimenez after Ochoa got past Dani Alves.
Ta Bob.
For all the obvious industry in this match, it has lacked quality. there have been moments when it has threatened to take off, but then it's let itself down and reverted to the bit-fest that it has been.
Wow - another great save from Ochoa! He's keeping Mexico in this one. Paulinho thought he had scored.
Nearly the lead for Brazil Superb block by Ochoa. Then Ramirez booked for a Horrible foul. Thiagho Silva chested down and Paulinho was through.
Half-time - 0-0.
After the last two exciting games, this one seems like a let down. Lots of industry from Brazil but no goals.
Its 0-9 at the half but thoroughly enjoyable and hard fought.
Sorry 0-0.
Bernard is on for the horrible Ramirez. The second half is underway.
We're away again and it's not long before a bad tackle by Thiago on Rafael Marquez.
Bernard is on for Ramires. Good move. He's a better passer of the ball. He might help the football to flow. Brazil certainly needed to change something.
And on cue, Bernard romps down the pitch and puts a beautiful cross in that's cleared by Rodriguez.
Big Phil yelling at the ref. As Rodriguez heads out a threatening cross from Bernard for a corner. Oscar high and wide off the corner.
Guardado has a short deflexed for a corner that is cleared.
Now Vasquez shoots just over as Mexico has had a good start to the second half.
DOS Santos has a short deflected straight to Cesar.. Now Herrera shoots over.
Paul Aguilar booked for a foul on St Bernard.
Well wide by Guardado
The cards are really flying now - Jose Vasquez into the book.
Jose Vazquez booked for a foul on Neymar.
The Fortaleza public are not at all happy. They're booing very loudly as Mexico's midfield works its way forwards, with short, unspectacular passes. Just simple football really. Something Brazil seem incapable of playing.
Oh!The free kick from Neymar was inches cwide but Ochoa had it covered.
Agreed Bob. I didn't expect Mexico to control the tempo
You hate to see managers motioning to the ref to card players, as Herrera is doing now.
Oh - bloody hell - Jo is being prepared to come on. That's Brazil's answer?
Jo the former Citeh and Everton player on for For Fred not the cat.
Bernard with another teasing cross that Dani Alves brought down and hammered toward the near post. Another great save by Ochoa.
Speaking of cats, have you had any luck finding new furry friends today, mate?
Superb reflex save by Ochoa from Dani Alves.
Not today. We've been inside on a hot summer day.
Chicha on for Peralta.
Your boy Chicharito comes on for Peralta again today. Can he be the supersub?
Now Brazil seem to be in full flow finally.
And now it's end to end stuff. Tremendously entertaining now.
And now it's end to end stuff. Tremendously entertaining now.
Oh - Bernard feeds Jo brilliantly but the ex-Citeh man fluffs it badly. Poor miss.
Jo drags an effort wide from pass by St. Bernard. Marco Fabian on for Hector Herrera.
I'm quite enjoying watching the St. Bernard. He's the only one who seems to be coming to Brazil's rescue.
Boom boom!
I thought Brazil would be well ahead by now.
I'm quite enjoying watching the St. Bernard. He's the only one who seems to be coming to Brazil's rescue.
Boom boom!
I thought so, too. They really haven't clicked as a team for long stretches yet in both matches.
Thiago finally gets that yellow card that he's been begging for after a nasty hack on Gio. Went right through him.
Ta Bob. I have a few saved up for the last matv
Thiago Silva booked for fouling Chicha in the D. Into the wall by DOS Santos then Brazil counter and a through ball by Neymar intended for Jo is gathered by Ochoa.
Inside the last ten minutes. A draw today would almost certainly ensure qualification for both sides. But if Brazil isn't careful, they'll be running into that Dutch bus before they wanted to.
We've been saying the same about Brazil.
Hair Bear Willian comes on for Oscar.
A Chelsea swap as William is on for Oscar.
Boom Boom.
Oh my giddy aunt! Ochoa saves Mexico's bacon once again! Thiago gets free from the free kick and heads straight at the keeper.
What a reflex save from Thiago Silva off the free kick from Neymar.
Big Phil does seem to like the Chelski gang. Sideshow Bob, Ramires, Oscar and now Willian.
Marcelo flops in the box after being tugged on the shoulder. Would have been very soft.
Oh - that wasn't far away!
Now it's Julio Cesar to the rescue - end to end stuff!
Mexico win a corner off of Bernard then Guarfado shoots inches over the short corner. Three minutes of stoppage time.
Great save by Cesar.
Well into stoppage time now - seems to be heading to a nil-niler.
Neymar has the last chance and that's it.
0-0 at the end. Mexico will certainly be the happier of the two teams. That must just about put them into the Round of 16.
I'm heading over to Kate's now, mate. I'll catch up with you later on.
Bloody Norah. An entertaining 0-0 draw as Mexico superbly hold Brazil. Great performance especially by Ochoa in the Mexican goal
Cheers mate.
