Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Roon as England and United Captain?

Okay, let me get this right. Wayne Rooney plays absolute pants at the World Cup and has just been named United skipper by Louis Van Gaal and is odds on to replace Steven Gerrard as England captain as well. How does that happen?

Your thoughts, gents?

I haven't heard he has been chosen as captain.
I think RVP is still favorite

United were not that impressive performance in the high altitude of Denver
Useless for 36 minutes and the we end up 3-0 up at half time!
Second half, nine changes… give away a goal from a shot ten yards inside the opponent's half!
A late pen as well but United squeak by 3-2
In the same group, Inter beat Real on pens after a 1-1
This 'Champions" Cup is two groups
United, Inter, Roma and Real
City, Liverpool, Olympicos and Milan
Top team in each group meets in the Final
3 points for a win
2 points for a pen shoot out win
1 point for a pen shoot out loss
0 for a loss

I may be seeing one of the games
I am off to Charlotte on Thursday and Liverpool meet MIlan there on Saturday

The Arsenal visit these shores for the first time in 25 years!!

Are they any where near Steve?

They lost to Red Bulls today against TH14

No, Arsenal buggered off immediately afterwards for that training camp Arsene likes in Austria.

In retrospect, I'm glad that I was priced out of the Red Balls game, as I don't need to see a 50% strong side go down to a defensive error and a BWP tap-in. And to hear Arsene gripe about the travel, I have to wonder why they've combed China, Japan, VietNam, Thailand, and Indonesia so thoroughly over the years.

Roon looked a different player on the tour and based on what I saw, why not? They had a great tour, but will that translate into their league form? I'm not sure but they will definitely improve upon seventh place.
