The Premiership Starts Here!
It's back, gents, and I couldn't be more excited. The 2014/2015 Premiership season starts with a bang tomorrow morning at 7:45am with Manchester United's home opener against Swansea. I'll be up early to watch my Leeds boys in their home opener against Boro. Join me me for action early doors, won't you?

I'm here in my favorite spot at the Cottage anxiously awaiting the start of the Premiership season. BEin isn't treating us to much of a pre-match show, so I'm on NBC Sports Network watching the preliminaries.
Good morning Bob. I've been up for about 45 minutes. I couldn't get back to sleep. A really creative post. I love it.
Yeah. They had an infomercial about Androzene, a supplement designed to increase the blood flow and male hardening. We don't need that.
Morning, MUR - I'm skipping the infomercials and brewing my coffee instead. Welcome!
Now they have something about United under SAF. Still dark out outside.
Any guesses as to who will be the new Palace manager? To Tim Sherwood, Malkay Mackay, Chris Hughton, Tim Sherwood, and Paul Clement, the assistant manager at Real. Davie Moyes ruled himself out of the reckoning.
Teams in the tunnel at ER.
Fred is sitting on the new printer which blocks my view of the monitor . He seems to be ready for the new season.
Here are the teams for this early morning's match:
Leeds - Silvestri, Byram, Cooper, Pearce, Warnock, Austin, Murphy, Bianchi, Ajose, Sharp, Doukara.
Boro - Meijas, Damia, Ayala, Omeruo, Friend, Adomah, Leadbitter, Whitehead, Reach, Tomlin, Kike.
A moment's applause for members of the Leeds family who have passed away in the past twelve months.
I saw that you signed Billy Sharp. Didn't he have a spell previously at ER that was unsuccessful?
Crikey - our new signing Billy Sharp is straight in at the deep end this afternoon. He'll partner our other new boy Souleyman Doukara up front.
They're off from ER!
COME ON YOU WHITES!
Yeah - Billy was on a loan spell that was not successful several seasons ago.
MOT!!!!
Great tackle by Jason Pearce on Lee Tomlin and they already have to be separated by the ref.
CREICKEY! Billy Sharp could have put Leeds ahead, but the through ball was just too long and the kepper rushed out to block then the rebound from Jose was blocked . Great start
Both teams attacking. It looks to be a cracking match.
Great start for us then. Sharp should have scored early doors.
It will be a tough test for Leeds against one of the better teams in the Championship.
Kike with a sharp turn but fortunately he was offside. He's the danger man for Boro.
Jason Pearce is in with a niggly one again - he seems fired up but needs a cooler head.
I thought the through ball was just too long. He's lacking some of that match sharpness.
Gooner must be having a lie in after posting that fantastic video in the wee hours.
Lee Tomlin and Jason Pearce don't seem to be best mates!
No comments about my Sharp joke? A sleepy Bob?
Apparently there were five physicals at Elland Road the other day. Sharp was one of them but there are loads of new players to come in.
It's far too early for those kinds of puns, mate. ;-)
Boro are looking pretty perky out in front of the box through Adomah and Leadbitter. I don't like it.
Horrible back pass by Byram , but fortunately Middlesbro don't take advantage as Grant Ledbitter shoots wide. Leeds can't afford mistakes like that against one of the better teams in the Championship.
I just posted the worksheet with everyone's predictions for the season, mate. It makes very interesting reading.
Any comments about Gooner's post? Seems like he was up late. Also any comments as to whom will be the next Palace manager?
Well done , Bob. I will be interested to read it.
I imagine he will sleep in after that late night nonsense.
Leeds were fortunate there as Kike was off to the races, but the throw was far too long.
Looks like a Silly Party Political ad.
The Kop in full voice this afternoon. Well done, lads!
Perhaps Gooner will rename himself Kevin Phillips Bong?
Is UWS a tad tardy or is he waiting till United kick off against the same opponents they did the opening day of last season?
Nice one , Bob. I wouldn't count it as a pun though.
So who do you think will be the next Palace manager?
Middlesbrough win a corner off of Warnock.
We're really under the cosh here - not liking it. Silvestri takes a corner well.
Silvestre easily catches the corner.
I am here boys!
Just coming down the stairs
Had a busy day yesterday and another one today
Dropped Red Dragon off at school yesterday and today I am taking STRose to St. Rose!
The kids are leaving!!!
It will be a stern test against one of the sides I expect to make the playoffs this season.
Your second attachment was fine
Thanks
The situation with Paddy Kenny at the club is quite absurd. He's still a member of the Leeds squad but seems the third choice keeper now. Silvestri has started in both Championship matches and Stuart Taylor started the League Cup match.
Here's the weirdest thing - Kenny hasn't been assigned a squad number!
Good morning UWS. I'm a few years behind you. Great to have you on board. I'm currently watching Leeds vs Middlesbrough on BEIN. I will watch both matches at the same time in about ten minutes.
Morning, UWS - glad to see that you were able to open the attachment. I forget that the slash symbol can be a problem for files.
I heard that Paddy Kenny is looking like Fatty Foulke. Just release him if he's not " match fit."

Any thoughts about that line-up?

JInx!
It is was I thought except Lingard… but I like him
Sharp hasn't looked especially sharp this morning. I wonder why Cellino plumped for him...again.
Teams in the tunnel
Here they come
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
COME ON MAN U
First, Bob wins the lineup race. Second, I am surprised but in some ways not. LVG has a history of giving young players a chance and he's sending out a message that this is HIS side. Tyler Blackett and Jesse Lingard had a great preseason , so let's see how they get on . That's how Jan got his chance last season.
Lots of empty seats… where are they
Spectacular overhead goal by Adomah...but it's been ruled offside. Phew!
BUGGER!!!
PHEW! Middlesbrough have a goal from Adomah disallowed for offside.
I don't see that - perhaps a high boot?
Seemed harsh but the Kop End are loving it!
United players wearing TWO shirts… after the picture.. they take off one and give it mascots
How can it be offside? You cant' be offside directly from a throw and it wasn't a high boot. Leeds got lucky there. Great overhead kick from Adomah after a poor headed clearance from Warnock.
The throw from Friend resulted in an unfriendly decision from the ref.
My computer screen is busy
LOB, SS and Test Match in three different windows
Away we go!!!!!
Definitely not a high boot. Leeds got away with one there , but I'm still pleased for you.
Just so you know, here are the picks for first goal:
Ander Herrera - Blue Devil
Wayne Rooney - Chelskilad, Gooner, MUR, Red Dragon, Someone Said, UWS, Simon, Yellows
Edin Dzeko - Red Devil
Juan Mata - St. Rose
RVP - WHR
No commentator for the first few minutes
Well done, UWS - I'm sticking with my Leeds boys but enjoy the match.
COME ON MAN YOO!
United need a new defender
Smalling and Jones don't instill me with much confidence
Ashley Young did great over here in the summer…hope he continues
I hope UWS doesn't own a MAC since all those windows are open!
United starting with some pace
Agreed with both statements, UWS.
HUh? I do own a Mac
Agreed, UWS. we need to keep Flappy busy today.
Boom boom, MUR - UWS does seem a fan of Windows.
Bob said you had a lot of windoows open , so a MAC is incompatible to a Windows O.S.
Not pleased with this performance by the Whites. Boro have been the better side and should probably be 1-0 up.
Ta, Bob. I guess he doesn't need to run the AC . Mine is already running at this early hour.
That's pretty bad!!
You'll need another strong cuppa to keep up with MUR's puns this morning, UWS.
Agreed, Bob. However, this Boro side are capable of winning promotion. I almost picked them.
Thank God Routledge didn't control that!
Great strikers run
Sorry, UWS. It was a bit complex for this early hour. Were you up late like the Gooner last night?
United have the same opening day opponents as last season.
They do look a bit handy. I didn't pick them for promotion. I went with Fulham, Cardiff and Derby.
We won in Wales 4-1… and then the season went downhill
I was hoping for a REALLY early goal this morning
Nothing so far
I am watching both Uniteds at the same time.
I know that he scored a brace in midweek but Doukara looks a wee bit static today.
Agreed, UWS. I think it was the late Saturday kickoff last season.
Why is RVP so late in playing…. a lot of other players played in the semi finals and are already back
He's not looking very Sharp.
Decent cross by Lingard…are you watching Valencia?
Interesting choices, Bob. It is difficult to predict the Championship this season.
West Ham Rising won't be pleased - he picked RVP to score the first goal!
I hope LVG adds Valencia to that list of five , but takes Chicha off the list
The Swans have had a few dangerous moments
What will it be like if United fall behind… please no
It is; in many ways the Championship is a more competitive league than the Premiership, which is dominated by the five or six big money clubs.
Come on UNITED!!!!!
Decent cross by Routledge then decentt save by De Gea from Siggy. I'm not pleased with the last few minutes.
Oh - Ajose found Doukara really well with a lovely chip but he lingered too long. Should have tried one on the volley. Massimo looks bemused about it.
That looked a decent chance for Leeds off the corner.
He did pick United as champions… smart lad!!
He did put the word BOO after the pick… not good form there
Good point about the Championship.
I'm pretty happy with Silvestri so far - he looks a really comfortable keeper.
even worse form from the Ginga Ninja , publicly stating that United have no chance of winning the league. I'm glad SAF kept him quiet during his playing days.
He seems to be a competent keeper. Why keep Paddy?
Scholes was a man of few words… now you can't shut him up
Not good by Roon… slowed the move down
Some Dutch questions: Is RVP injured or perhaps had a row with LVG? If Flappy's going to be the starting keeper for Swansea then what about Worm. Will he be leaving or did he?
Sneaky liittle push in the back from Bianchi on Kike there.
I would love to put masking tape on his mouth.
I reckon that Paddy is for sale.
Oh - great block by Warnock.
I heard early on that RVP was going to be rested and not be available for the first few games
Great block by warnock from Adamoah, who had a good chance there.
Ta, UWS. That explains it.
Lindy looks hurt!
Where is Paddy for sale? at the local butcher?
He sure does. Halftime at ER and 0-0 at ER.
That's it for the first half - not happy but at least it's not worse than 0-0.
Switched over just in time to see Lingard get crocked.
Damn it… stretcher
He's slamming the ground… what a bummer for him!
Who to come on?
Januzai… United's new #11 or Reece who looked good
He's walking off!!!!
Will he continue
What a faker!!!
BUGGER! LIngard going off injured.LVG and Giggsy discussing who will come on in his place. Hold on. He might be able to continue.
I think he was just winded. I'm sure he was hurting.
Chicha fouled by Siggy off a nice pass from Roon.
Ki heads away the free kick from Mata.
England all over India for the third test match in a row
Last time out, they won by an innings plus
They're at it again
India all out for 148
England 148 for 1
It seems that Luke Shaw is out injured and Yashley fills that role. surprisingly,It seems to be his best position.
Looks like #11 is going to come on
Glad that they didn't retire the shirt… United need an 11 and 7 out there…who will take that shirt!!
WOW! Talk about making quick work of the opposition.
Shaw out for four weeks with a hammy
I guess Lingard wasn't faking as he's off injured and replaced by Jan.
Great run by Jones… and gets hammered making a cross/shot
Free kick
The spray is out!!!
Ta, UWS. Sounds like he will be back right after the international break.
Decent free-kick opportunity and the OT faithful enjoy the first look at the magic spray can by Mike Dean.
Mata straight at Flappy
Dyer is the first into the book this afternoon.
Flappy turned away the cross/ shot and the first time this season the spray is uesed as Ashley Williams fouled Jan. Flappy punches away the free kick from Mata
Great effort from Young to get it over
Rooney with a header on goal but Flappy grabbed it.
I was really hoping for a goal before this
Come on, Ander my boy. Get on the ball - I need the points!
I thought that was a harsh booking as it seemed a fair tackle on Herrera . the free kick from Mata was headed away then Roon heads straight to Flappy off a cross from Yashley.
Bloody hell… one nil down!
I was going to pick that guy!!!
I picked Roon, which was a popular choice.
Bloody hell - did anyone pick Kee Sung Young for teh first goal? No - they did not.
BLOODY HELL !!! KI GIVES SWANSEA THE LEAD
I picked Roon too
The OT faithful have to get behind the lads
It cam e off a long Swansea possession as Natahn Dyer made a run down the right then Passed to Siggy who found Ki , unmarked just outside the box and he scored in the corner.
They sure have been stunned.
I hope it's not a Key goal. It sure wasn't from a PPP point of view.
Oh - that one is bad, MUR. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Useless by Rooney
KI tackles for a UNited corner,.
Roon has looked hopeless
Headed well wide by Roon off the corner from Mata.
Sides coming back out at Elland Road - come on, you Whites!
Not really, but I should be since United are trailing.
Shelvey fouls Jan.
Exactly the opposite is wanted at OT… want the whites to suck
No changes to either side yet in the Championship clash.
The free kick from Mata is headed away then Chicha heads wide off a cross from Yashley as Chicha is called for a foul.
The second half is underway from ER.
If I'm being honest, I'll take a draw in this one.
Early corner for Leeds - come on!
That would be a decent result , considering the opposition.
Nice run by Jan… gets a corner
Neil Taylor tackles Jan for a corner.
Front post corner again… are they ever dangerous!
Flappy punches away the corner from Mata as Routledge fouls Herrera near the corner flag. Fans pleased about the spray
not good by Mata
Flappy easily catches the free kick from Mata.
Fletcher had a chance of a shot there… blocked… he needs to be a better finisher
Celtic three up vs Dundee United. Someone will be pleased , but not surprised.
Wow..United dropped 27 points last season at home
Agreed.
I hope LVG can do his magic at half time
They were losing to Pool in Miami and won 3-1
Is my boy Nani about to come on?
Michael Tonge on for Doukarra, who looks none too pleased. I guess Hockaday is going for the draw.
Well - Doukara has been yanked off in favor of Michael Tonge. Not a good day for the French/Senegalese.
Me too, UWS. I hope not, Bob.
More argybargy between Kike and Pearce.
Three added minutes
COME ON UNITED
"We're gonna win," sing the Elland Road faithful.
Not happy with Rooney this half.
Has looked like he can't control the ball… I thought the captaincy would make him CONCENTRATE more
Siggy wins a free kick off of Jones.
Not liking this Boro pressure one bit.
Half time
United better attack the Stretford End with gusto in the second half!!
Halftime and a mediocre first half from United as they trail the Swans 0-1. Hoping for a much better second half from United.
Oh - should have been a pen there for a shove on Byram.
Clayton on for Whitehead for Boro.
Leeds old boy, Adam Clayton, is on for Dean Whitehead.
Not a pen. It was a shoulder charge.
Over 24K in Elland Road this afternoon - well done, lads!
