All to Play For....
I'm up early to watch the biggest East Anglian Derby match in a generation. It's advantage Canaries going into this leg at Carrow Road, but anything could happen. The winner will join a rampant Boro, who put Brentford to the sword 3-0 at the Riverside last night. Join me for all the action this morning!

Good morning Bob. I just posted on FB that I'm up before the Crack of Dawn. It's a massive match as stated by your favorites, Keys and Gray.
Here's the team news out of East Anglia this afternoon:
Norwich (4-2-3-1): Ruddy; Whittaker, Martin, Bassong, Olsson; Tettey, Howson; Redmond, Hoolahan, Johnson; Jerome. Subs: Rudd, Hooper, E Bennett, Josh Murphy, R Bennett, O’Neil, Dorrans.
Ipswich (4-4-2): Bialkowski; Chambers, Smith, Berra, Mings; Anderson, Bishop, Skuse, Bru; Murphy, Sears. Subs: Gerken, Parr, Clarke, S Hunt, Tabb, N Hunt, McGoldrick.
Morning, MUR - great to have you around for a very early kickoff in Texas.
Mark Warburton said he would resign as manager of the Bees once they were eliminated from the playoffs. He would be a great choice as manager at ER, but it is rumored that he will stay in London and probably head to the nearby Fake Cottage.
Cheers mate. I'm exhausted, but there was no way I was going to miss this match.
COME ON YOU CANARIES!
it must be a warm day in EA. it's rare to see Mick in short sleeves.
They're off from Cr. one of me old stomping grounds.
And we're away from Carrow Road!
It's a festive afmosphere in Norwich today; a lot of the home fans must be assuming their side are halfway there.
Boro must be favorites for promotion through the playoffs after that spectacular win against Brentford yesterday.
Nasty foul from one of the Olsson twins . He should have been booked.
Daryl Murphy heads over a free kick from Strange Bru.
I would like the Canaries to go up, but unfortunately, I'm thinking that the Teesiders will go up.
Mark Warburton resigned as manager of the Bees. He would be an excellent choice at ER despite being linked with the managers job at the Cottage. He has a great haircut too.
I'd be happy with Mark Warburton; however, apparently Gus Poyet has been interviewed about the job at ER. He'd be my top choice. Gus did an excellent job as Dennis Wise's assistant years ago.
Fred says that he hopes he would do a better job at ER than at the SOL.
The Canaries win the first corner of the match. Whittaker shoots well wide after several exchanges of possession.
Fred has been talking trash. He guarantees victory on Wednesday and says that the Gunners are pussies. He says United will get their Arses kicked tomorrow. Your thoughts?
I don't know if Gus is a Premiership level boss but I think with the right investment he might be the guy to get us up.
That shot resembles more of a Bru gone horribly wrong than a Strange Bru or Iron Bru.
Actor Stephen Fry in the celebrity box today; had no idea he was a Canaries fan.
He might be adecent choice , but Dennis The Menace would not be a Wise choice as his sidekick.
I heard that Canaries love a little fish fry thrown in their cages.
The free kick comes to nothing but Redmond wins a corner.
Anderson clears off the line from Russell Martin off the corner from Nathan Redmond.
Oh - Martin's shot was cleared off the line by Emerson. Big chance there for Norwich.
One Scot cleared off the line from another
Fred was rather naughty with his comments. I will make sure to address that with him.
Ipswich earn their first corner of the match...
Bishop went down in the area; nothing doing.
The Ipswich fans are giving something or someone an ovation now. The commentator doesn't seem to know the significance any more than I do.
No kibble for Fred.
Me either. I'm not sure.
Morning Boys
I have the Old Farm derby on the computer
COME ON YOU BLUES!!
Morning, UWS - I'm with you, mate. I'm still hoping that the Tractor Boyz can pull something out here.
Strange Bru wastes that opportunity - shame....
I am back from a short trip to the bog and happy to say that I did not miss a goal.
Good morning, UWS!
COME ON YOU CANARIES!
They've started at St. Mary's
Why do you want Norwich?
The Old Farm Derby is BEIN shown on my telly and I have Sotton vs Villa on the computer
I picked Norwich in the PPP.
A Villa win would definitely keep them up. They're just about there.
Bradley Johnson goes into the book for a trip while he was still on the ground.
Grealish fouls Shane Long about 30 yards from goal.
Interesting - I didn't know that away goals wouldn't count double today.
Pelle has a goal disallowed for offside and he was by a country mile.
Bob, I have a question about the PPP
You're going to luck out and with the bloody Sevilla pick... which could win you the league
My question is, has any points been given out(in theory) for a Norwich promotion?
Does Matt really need them to go up
It's an odd rule in the playoffs.
Got your invitation on Thursday
He has awarded me the points for pickling them., so I'm guessing the same for Matt.
Away goals don't count in the play offs.
It used to count after extra time but now it doesn't count at all
I received it yesterday. I accept with pleasure.
I thought they did . I agree . Either count them once 94 minutes has been played or don't count them at all.
That's the second time Cammy Jerome has been down. If he's not fit then take him off and bring on Hooper.
Did you sees the some paper in Spain, Marca, who always knows... says that De Gea has agreed personal terms with Real
There is no hope of keeping any Iberian or South American from going to Real when they come a calling
Southampton have thrown in the towel late on, leaving an opening for Swansea.
I did see that - they've tried to get him before, no?
Pelle got behind the Villa defense and shot straight at the keeper and though he was given a clear cut opportunity
I read that LVG has conceded that and says he already has a replacement for De Gea. I'm skeptical.
Yes - I've been doling out the points for the teams still alive in the promotion hunt. That is, Matt has three points now for his Norwich pick. It may well come down to that one and a Sevilla win against Dnipro in the Europa League Final.
Surely there is a goal coming at Carrow Road or St Marys cuz I have to go to the loo
Now Beneteke emulates Pelle as he shoots wide with just Kelvin Davis to beat. Nice slide rule pass from Delph.
Before I leave... the Saints take the lead at St Marys
Marvelous - here's a question. Did the invitation look good coming through. Kate's mom was worried that the postal experience would be hard on the delicate parts of the invitation.
They have come close at St. Mary's. I would bet on a goal from there.
I still think that Villa are virtually safe now on 38 points. Even 37 points might be safe.
GOAL !!!! IT HAD TO BE CUZ UWS IS IN THE BOG.MANE ROUNDED GIVEN AND SLOTTED HOME AFTER A LONG BALL WAS HEADED ON BY PELLE AND MANE GOT BEHIND THE VILLA DEFENSE.
Did you get the invitation for June 20 down in South Texas, MUR?
GOAL !!! MANE AT THE DOUBLE AS THE SAINTS GO TWO UP. HE'S MISSED TWO IN THE BOG.
A horrible back pass from Vlaar and Mane rounded Given and shot home past the on rushing Okore. The announcer said that the goals were 84 second s apart.
GOAL!!! MANE HAS A HAT-TRICK AND WE'RE ONLY FIfTEEN MINUTES IN. OH MY GIDDY AUNT!
My mistake - Matt got two points for the Watford second place (he had picked them to finish third) and currently has two points for a Norwich promotion (he had them placed second). He would lose those two if Norwich went down today and would be on 36 points. Chelskilad would also lose two points and would be down to 34 points. I haven't ended up with any points for that category.
Bertrand got free down the left and passed to Mane, who was unmarked at the edge of the box and he passed it into the upper 90.
Wow - that's quite a visit to the bog for UWS.
eXTRA eXTRA rEAD ALL ABOUT IT.
UWS MISSES A HAT-TRICK WHILE IN THE BOG.
Nearly half-time now at Carrow Road - it's been a boring first half, to be honest.
He nearly missed a fourth as James Ward - Prowse shot straight at Given with just the keeper to beat
I told you I'd miss goals
A HAT-TRIICK IN THREE MINUTES!!
Half time at CR
It's 0-0 at the half at CR
it took two minutes and 56 seconds to score that hat-trick. Surely, the most goals missed on a trip to the bog.
In the midst of all the action , I forgot to answer Bob's question. I received the invitation yesterday and I accept with pleasure.
Westwood booked for a foul from behind on Mane.
I lose three points if the Canaries fail to get promoted.
Under three minutes for that hat-trick!!!
Are Villa still in trouble
That hat-trick by Mane was not a English Football record, which is two minutes and 24 seconds. Mane's was two minutes and 56 seconds. Still impressive.
According to our friends at Opta, Sadio Mane's three goals were scored in two minutes and 56 seconds, making it the fastest hat-trick in Premier League history.
Villa have 38 points. I think they are pretty much safe.
Four nil!!!
Long with the goal this time... goals one, two and four are almost carbon copies of each other
Sliding in a rebound
GOAL !!!! SHANE LONG PUTS THE SAINTS FOUR UP. HE PUT AWAY A REBOUND THAT WAS INITIALLY SAVED BY GIVEN FROM PELLE.
I guess they are safe
Hull need to get AT LEAST two points from Spurs or United or they are toast... they have a good record at WHL though
Pathetic Villa defending yet again. Nice pass from Mane to Pelle , who got behind Bacuna. His shot was kicked saved by Given and put away by Long.
It's a tough ask for Brucie's lads. I would say three because either the Toon or Black cats should get something somewhere. I'm thinking that the Tigers are going down.
Will the Saints match their 8-0 victory vs the Black Cats?
Villa lost the ball at the back three consecutive times. The ref bailed them out by calling one of them a foul.
Timmy Sherwood is none too pleased. He will be giving the hairdryer treatment and throwing tea cups at the half.
The second half is underway at CR
They're off in Norfolk
nervy times for Ipswich... Norwich couldn't get a shot off
High wide by Sears Roebuck. Faulty just like the Sears appliances.
Cammy Jerome is offside by more than a tractor length.
Ruddy Norah... FIVE NIL!!!
Long is trying to catch up Mane
Great goal!!
GOAL !!!SHANE LONG AT THE DOUBLE AS VILLA GO FIVE UP.
PENALTY CANARIES
GOAL WES HOOLIHAN SENDS BIALKOWSKI THE WRONG WAY FROM THE SPOT.
Norwich get a pen and takes the lead
In the midst of that action Christohe Berra was sent off fro the Tractor Boyz as he handled on the line .
I missed the pen decision..... missed the red card!
It was a spectacular long range effort from Shane Long
Christophe Berra hand led on the line to prevent a goal and was sent off for denying a goal scoring opportunity
It will be tough for the Tractor Boys to come back , being a man down
Well - it appears I've missed a lot of action in the shower at half-time, including two goals from Shane Long, a penalty and a red card at Carrow Road.
welcome back, mate. That about sums it up.
I did receive your invitation yesterday and I accept with pleasure.
Mick has to change things now.
Three minutes of stoppage time at St. Mary's and a last ditch tackle by Delph prevents another Saints goal
Sotton beat the Toon 8-0 didn't they?
United's 9-0 record could be in jeopardy
GOAL... Benteke gets one back
Correct. Mick has to take risks despite being a man down
That goal was the last kick of the game
What a half for the Saints
What a half for the Cup Finalists
GOAL !!! BENETEKE HEADS IN A GOAL FROM BACUNA. THEY TRAIL 5-1.
GOAL !!!! 1-1 AS THE TEN MEN TIE IT UP.
GOAL! The Tractor Boyz have equalized! Smith with the tap in!
1-1 at Carrow ROAD!
Daryl Murphy headed on a free kick from young Teddy Bishop and Tommy Smith the Kiwi defender, was there to slot home.
Poor defending there from the free kick by Norwich.
A half an hour remaining and it looks like there could be ET at CR. Desmond on agg.
United's record should be safe. The Saints defeated the Black Cats 8-0 earlier this season,.
GOAL! Nathan Redmond with a quick response for Norwich!
2-1 Norwich
Bialkowski did well to parry away Olsson's original shot but Redmond's shot went straight through his legs.
2-1 Canaries!
GOAL !!! THE CANARIES ARE BACK IN THE LEAD.NATHAN REDMOND BEAT BIALKOWSKI AT THE NEAR POST.
Ipswich have 25 minutes to rescue this one now.
They will have to get a second with ten men.
Oh - Jerome stabs wide from point blank. That would have been that.
OH!!! cammy jerome misses a sitter, shooting wide of an open goal from two yards out from a pass by Howson
I haven't seen enough from Freddie Sears today. Tabb on for Strange Bru now.
great move but a missed from five yards by Jerome
Look what happens when you play with speed, get the ball wide and get a dangerous cross
Are you watching United?
Are you watch Valencia!!!
A double switcheroo from Mick as Jay Tabb is on for Strange Bru and McGoldrick is on for young Teddy Bishop.
I'm not sure you want LVG to model United's play on Norwich City. If they do go up, they'll go straight back down.
Off we go down on south coast
Dorrans on for the goalscorer Hoolihan.
I want United to play like they did just then ... apart from the finish
The second half is underway from St. Mary's
Hear rumors of Poyet going to Elland Road?
Game over... three one Norwich
GOAL! Jerome slots home this time and the Canaries are home and hosed.
GOAL !!! THE CANARIES LEAD 3-1 AND ARE WEMBLEY BOUND AS JEROME SLOTS IT PAST BIALKOWSKI
The Canary fans are singing
WEM BE LEY
WEM BE LEY
Graham Dorrans did well to tackle Jay Tabb. He passed to Nathan Redmond and his slide rule pass was put away by Cammy Jerome.
Shane Long volleys wide as he was Given a dropped cross.
Tyrone Mings did well to tackle Redmond for a corner as he was about to shoot past Bialkowski.
McCarthy makes his third change and then someone goes down hurt
Looks like he will be able to continue
Been a good season for the tractor boys
Some thought they would be relegated before the season starts
Gabby Agbon is on for Insomnia.
NBC are going around the games during the ten o'clockers
Were Norwich up the top this season? I know Ipswich were in the top two at one time
I am thinking Norwich were because didn't they change managers and bring down the bloke from Hamilton Academical mid season
Norwich were one of several teams that occupied top spot during the season.
Read on ESPN that Mane's hat-trick beat Robbie Fowler's record of 4 min 33 secs... he sucks!
I think Norwich were on top for a bit this season.
Correct. The Canaries have been superb since 33 year old Alex Neill took over on his arrival from the Accies.
Robbie's hat-trick was scored in 94
Of course... every record they quote is just the Prem era... there wasn't any footer before Aug 1992
4 added minutes at CR
Not even close. He thrashed Robbie's record.
Who was in charge and why did he get fired if they were up there
It didn't break the Football League record.
When he arrived... Norwich weren't in the promotion talk
What is the record
Neill Addams , who took over at the end of last season was. I think the Canaries were in tenth place when he walked the plank.
In the play offs
the top two teams not to make the automatic spots have made the finals in each division
A rank outsider... that really doesn't deserve it... won't make it
3rd Norwich vs 4th Boro
3rd Preston vs 4th Swindon
4th Wycombe vs 5th Southend
Hand bags in Norfolk with no time left
It is two minutes and 24 seconds by James Hayter of Bournemouth vs Wrexham about a decade ago.
All over
Norwich are going to Wembley to play Boro on Memorial Day
It's over and the Canaries are off to Wembley . I still have three points.
I will be home for that one.
I'll be in the yellow and green corner at Wembley
That's it, fellas. I'm off to the Fredonia Commencement. I'll look forward to chatting with you again tomorrow morning. Enjoy the rest of the day.
Cheers Bob. Enjoy.
Have fun.... I am off too
I have lots to do
Talk to you tomorrow
TTFN
Me too. We'll be the Two Daves!
Cheers . enjoy the rest of your day
