US v. Japan Women's World Cup Final Live!
It all comes down to this, lads. Last time around, Japan pipped the US to the post with a penalty shoot-out win. But the US side have already overcome a lot this time around. It hasn't always been the most fluent display, but they've got bags of grit, like a well-school Tony Pulis team.
Join me from 7pm EST on Fox (or Telemundo, if you want to practice your Spanish) for all the fun.

Hello Bob. I am here to join you for all the action.
Evening, lads - I'm enjoying the end of what has been a quite incredible two-hour pre-match show on Fox television. I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like it before. Boy, have things changed in this country!
Evening, MUR - great to have you on board. The sides are coming out.
United States lineup (4-2-3-1): Hope Solo; Meghan Klingenberg, Julie Johnston, Becky Sauerbrunn, Ali Krieger; Morgan Brian, Lauren Holiday; Megan Rapinoe, Carli Lloyd, Tobin Heath; Alex Morgan

It will likely be a home environment for the US tonight, despite perhaps a bit of Canadian petulance.
Cheers mate . Great to be chatting with you. It's been a great tournament.
It's definitely a partisan U.S. crowd in Vancouver, near the U.S. border.
We're settling in for a pasta dinner with a few bevvies. Hope you and yours are doing well.
They're off from Vancouver.
Yes. Everyone is well. . Melanie is at Summer camp in the Catskills . We finished our dinner. I'm the only one not napping.
The Outlaws are in full voice tonight.
The Outlaws are in full voice tonight.
I would love the U.S. to win. Japan are fortunate to be here when they were outplayed for parts of the match by a good England team.
Napping during the match? Why - that's positively unpatriotic!
Early corner to the US - set pieces should be to our advantage tonight over the diminutive Japanese.
Brian wins a corner for the U.S. , who are doing all the early attacking.
GOAL !!!! CARLY lLOYD SOCRES OFF THE CORNER FROM rAPINOE.
The goal with just under three minutes played.
GOAL! A nifty training pitch routine and slammed home by Carly Lloyd.
1-0 US!
Agreed about the napping.
Now then - the US have their tails up. They're looking for more to kill off the Japanese early doors.
Now a free kick opportunity. This is a key moment.
Johnston is fouled just outside the Japanese box.
GOAL! Oh my giddy aunt, the US and Carly Lloyd have done it again!
GOAL !!! THE U.S. ARE TWO UP OFF ANOTHER SET PIUECE ONLY FIVE MINUTES IN AND IT'S CARLY LLOYD YEST AGAION
The Japanese were fooled by the same routine - a short ball in rather than a lofted cross.
Nice backheel from Johnston that fooled the Japanese.
I have felt throughout the tournament that the Japanese team has been highly overrated. Perhaps England were better off getting third in glorious fashion rather than being clobbered in the final.
GOAL! 3-0! Kaboom!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! WE'RE GOING ON HOLLIDAY. LAUREN HOLIDAY PUTS THE U.S. THREE UP.
Great finish by Holliday.
Only fourteen minutes have been played and a poor dfensive header off a cross from Tobin Heath was punished with a fantastic finish by Laurne Holiday.
GOAL !!!! 4-0 U.S AND CARLY lLLOYD CAUGHT THE KEEPER OFF HER LINE AND CHIPPED HER FROM THE HALFWAY LINE.
GOAL! What a goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Carly Lloyd with a Pele effort from half way for her hat-trick.
The U.S. are four up only sixteen minutes in. The engravers might as well be putting the U.S. name on the trophy.
Oh - nearly Lloyd's fourth and the US's 5th. What a performance!
OH!!! A rare miss from Carly Lloyd as she heads wide with a free header off a great cross from Klingenberg. That would have given her the golden boot.
Some kamakazee defending by the opposition?
Talk about Japan changing their game plan. This one dimensional team does not have a plan B.
Rapinoe wins a corner. A foul is called .
OH!!!! An Audacious piece of skill by Alex Morgan as she collected a long ball, turned two defenders, but the shot lacked pace and was easily saved by the keeper.
Hey guys
I'm on my phone so I can't comment all the time
WOW!!!
Germany vs Brazil Part 2???
GOAL!!!! JAPAN PULLS ONE BACK. a CURLER IN THE TOP CORNER THAT CAME OFF THE FINER TIPS OF hOPE sOLO
Hello UWS. How have you been? I would love to see a repeat of that. Japan doesn't deserve to be in the final.
Chaos in the U.S. defense as the ball broke to the edge of the box , but the shot was easily saved by Hope Solo.
This may not be over
Rapinoe wins a free kick in a decent position. A set piece opportunity for the U.S.
Ogimi, the scorer, is lectured by the ref. The free kick is far too high.
An early Japanese substitution. They have done this throughout this World Cup.
Agreed, UWS, especially if the U.S. allows them time on the ball.
Welcome, UWS - quite a match, eh? I took a break to eat dinner and a couple of goals went in!
The US have inevitably dropped the pace after that amazing burst in the first 15 minutes.
Sugasawa is on for Kawasumi as that leaves only one change left for the Japanese and it's not even halftime.
Jill Ellis will definitely want to mention that during the halftime break.
Carly Lloyd has a header blocked for a corner off a cross from Rappinoe , who won a great tackle.
Very early to make those moves for the Japanese but I suppose anything goes for them at this point.
The keeper catches the corner from Rappinoe.
It seems that way. A risky strategy that is a result of sheer desperation.
A minute of stoppage time.
One minute to go in this incredible first half. It's been a welcome showcase final for the American audience on Fox.
Half-time - Well, that was great value for the punters. Five goals, four of which were scored by the US in a blazing first twenty minutes.
It's halftime and the U.S. lead 4-1 thanks to four goals in the first sixteen minutes, including a hat-trick from Carly Lloyd.
All the U.S. goals were before the 15 min mark
Don't conced the next though
Ball hit net at 15:03
From Charlie Adam
Wow what an incredible goal.

A nice corner from Lauren Holliday that was missed by the keeper and Brian passed back for an easy tap in for Tobin Heath.
Thanks for those pics, UWS - I'm sharing them with Katie right now.
Iwabuchi is on for Ohno as that's the final roll of the dice for Japan.
A standing ovation for Megan Rapinoe as she's replaced by Kelley O'Hara.
Ostsumi volleys just wide from 25 yards out, but Hope Solo looked to have it covered.
Glad Ohno went off
Every time she got the ball I thought something went wrong
Just wide by Alex Morgan after great work by Tobin Heath,.
BOOM BOOM! Great way to honor the memory of John Lennon.
We're really enjoying your photography, UWS - you're a regular David Bailey, you are.
Does Thomas still want to marry Alex Morgan?
Oh - another half chance for O'Hara - but blasts over the bar like a regular Michael Carrick.
Glad you got the pics
Tom like the other Morgan
Morgan Bailey?
A free header for Ugama , but fortunately headed to Hope Solo
Oh - another good chance for Japan - are the defenders on strike tonight?
A standing ovation As Abby Wombach is on for Tobin Heath for her last hurrah.
Fellow Gator Abby Wambach coming on for her final match.
Hope Solo fists out a free kick for a Japan corner.
I would like to let you know that former U.S. legend, Michelle Akers, is a fellow UCF grad and graduated the same year I did.
Sawa is booked for a foul from behind on Abby Wombach in a dad's army clash.
Iwabuchi is booked for a rash challenge on Johnston. She was brought for instant offense , but it hasn't quite worked out today
Classy by Jill Ellis as Kristy Rappone is on n the final roll of the dice. She is the only survivor from the '99 WC winning side.
Japan win a corner on the counter.
I'd love to see Abby get one.
The U.S counter off a Japan corner.
Yes. Her or Rampone.
Three minutes of stoppage time.
Late corner chance now. Come on, Abby - on her head!
A cross from Krieger intended for Abby is out for a corner.
Taken short and it's given away cheaply. Sorry Bob.
Shame.
It's over and the U.S win 5-2 as they win the W.C. for the first time since 1999. That's three WCs, more than any other nation.
That's that - an emphatic win by the US. The Japanese look as upset as they were in 1945. Oh dear - don't mention the war.
They do, but they scraped their way to the final and were shredded apart, by a far superior American side. England would have given the U.S. a tougher time.
Marvelous scenes now in Vancouver.
The trophy ceremony is minutes away.
Nike quick on the draw with a "Champions" ad.
The Mounties always locate the trophy.
Good thing we don't have to endure a trophy presentation by Sepp Blatter. Good riddance.
Young Player of the Tournament Buchanan from Canada being awarded.
Absolutely. That would have tarnished our victory.
Sasic wins the Golden Boot . She tied Carly Lloyd for goals and assists, but scored that amount in fewer minutes.
Carly Lloyd with the Silver Boot, Sasic from Germany was the top scorer.
Hope Solo getting her Golden Glove award.
Golden Glove to Hope Solo. Just don't punch anyone with that Golden Glove!
Miyama gets the Bronze Ball.
Miyama with the Bronze Ball Award.Golden Ball is to Carly Lloyd.
The real Reason that Septic Blatter isn't travelling is to avoid arrest.
Japan go up to get their silver medals.
Now the American women go up to get their gold medals before the trophy is lifted.
Classy move by Rampone to share the podium with Abby Wambach.
A classy move as Abby Wombach and Kristy Rapmpone will both lift the trophy in their last WC
Well, it's been a true pleasure sharing this big win with you, mate. I've been missing it.
I second that . It was great chatting with you. I'm off to take Sparky for walkies. Will you be around for the Gold Cup? Cheers mate.
