Lakenheath Old Boys

We are all former students at Lakenheath High School and other public schools in East Anglia. We were in school in the 70s and 80s and drank deeply from the well of British culture of those decades - the pints, the telly, and of course the footie!

Champions League Group Stage Round-up

I haven't had a chance to watch any of the footer this week, so slammed have I been at work, so I thought I'd round things up tonight. It's been quite a week. British football fans going into this week were fearful that as many as three of the British sides might be eliminated. In the end, only Man Utd. bowed out, with Man City and Arsenal pulling off heroics on the day. So here are the final sides going into the knock-out stages:

Group A:
Real Madrid
PSG

Group B:
Wolfsburg
PSV

Group C:
Atletico Madrid
Benfica

Group D:
Man City
Juventus

Group E:
Barcelona
Roma

Group F:
Bayern
Arsenal

Group G:
Chelsea
Dynamo Kyiv

Group H:
Zenit
Gent

My apologies for not responding sooner. It is a really busy time of the year. Quite right , mate, about the standings. Who said the Prem is declining? They and La Liga were the only leagues that had three teams qualify for the knockout stages. Pool and the Spuds have already qualified for the knockout stages, so along with Man Yoo, there are still six Prem clubs battling it out in Europe. That is just as good as any of the so called top leagues.
