Saturday Means....Premiership Football
With eight matches to go, this is the point where champions are made. Can Leicester keep up their improbable quest for the title? Can Spurs or Arsenal catch them? What about West Ham and United - can either of them (or both) creep up into the Champions League slots? We'll get some of those answers straight away today. We start off at 8:45am at Goodison for Everton v. Arsenal. Then at 11am, The Foxes travel to Selhurt Park. Join me for all the action here on the LOB this morning.

Morning, chaps - I hope that you're ready for a smashing day of Premiership footer. Due to daylight savings, we've all had an extra hour of sleep. And I'm officially on Spring Break! Wahay!
Here come the teams out of the narrow tunnel at Goodison to the tune of the Z Cars theme:
Everton (4-2-3-1) Robles; Coleman, Jagielka, Funes Mori, Baines; McCarthy, Besic; Lennon, Barkley, Cleverley, Lukaku.
Subs: Stones, Kone, Niasse, Deulofeu, Osman, Howard, Galloway.
Arsenal (4-2-3-1) Ospina; Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal; Coquelin, Elneny; Iwobi, Ozil, Sanchez; Welbeck. Subs: Gibbs, Mertesacker, Giroud, Walcott, Chambers, Campbell, Macey.
Referee Mark Clattenburg (Tyne & Wear)
And we're away at Goodison, Everton in their traditional colors and Arsenal for some reason in their naff gold and navy numbers. Peter Drury and Jim Beglin on the mic.
Oh - Coleman nearly snuck in at the near post at that early corner to turn it in.
Iwobi had a chance to shoot but chose to jink back inside instead.
Welbeck has scored, though!!!!
0-1!
It seemed as if Arsenal were intent on walking into the goal, but in the end, they played it more directly to Welly who rounded the keeper and slotted home.
The Gunners lead at Goodison!
A quick check on the Golden Boot stakes:
1. Harry Kane - 19 goals
- Jamie Vardy - 19 goals
3. Romelu Lukaku - 18 goals
4. Sergio Aguero - 16 goals
5. Riyadh Mahrez - 15 goals
6. Odion Ighalo - 14 goals
7. Olivier Giroud - 12 goals
8. Diego Costa - 11 goals
- Jermaine Defoe - 11 goals
10. Marko Arnautovic - 10 goals
10 min Lukaku, put through on goal, is wrongly flagged offside. It was the wrong decision but, well, we’ve seen worse.
Nice shot from Basic there turned around by Ospina. Everton are getting back into this one.
Half an hour in and the fizz has gone somewhat out of this one.
Alexis goes down in the box but Mark Clattenburg has never been an Arsenal fan. Nothing doing.
Possession percentage latest: Everton 42-58 Arsenal.
GOAL! Iwobi scores on his full debut!
0-2!
Route 1 from Arsenal on the break. Bellerin pumped one up the channel and the teenager did the rest, running on to it and then slotting one past Joel.
This is Arsenal's game in hand and would lift them up to 55 points, within three of their North London rivals but still 8 points adrift from Leicester.
Half-time then - Arsenal have really bounced back from a dreadful week for them, crashing out of the Cup and Champions League.
We're back at Goodison - John Stones is coming on for Besic to add a third center half, apparently because Roberto has decided that Everton's backline is rubbish.
Jim Beglin has suddenly decided to call Bellerin "Bayer-een." Why?
I useless backpass from Stones nearly gives Welly a chance but he recovered well.
That sums up the day for Evertonians. Ross Barkley rolls a simple pass to Seamus Coleman and the midfielder somehow contrives to allow it to run under his foot and out to touch.
Coleman whipped a ball in and Lukaku drives in after it. He's crashed into Ospina who's going to need some treatment.
Another change for the Toffees - Barkley off and Delafou on.
Welly and Ozil also off - Giroud and Gibbs on.
Beglin thinks that Everton are suffering from "multiple personalities syndrome" this season.
Oh - Giroud thought he'd scored Arsenal's third but he's penalized for a shove in the area. A bit unlucky.
Iwobi was in there for a two on one but he picked out the wrong pass.
Iwobi yanked there for Chambers to shore things up.
Coming down to stoppage time now....
Peep Peeeeeeep!
Well, that's full-time. The win means that Arsenal's unlikely title challenge is still on. They're eight points behind leaders Leicester, so they'll need the Foxes to trip up against Palace. We'll see about that next.
Good morning, mate. I'm up after a really late night out and several pints.
The Gooner will be delighted that the Gunners won at Goodison
Morning, MUR - great to have you on board. I'm just back from a refreshing shower to enjoy this one.
The teams on hand at Selhurst Park:
Crystal Palace
XI: Hennessey; Ward, Dann, Delaney, Souare; Zaha, Cabaye, Jedinak, Ledley; Bolasie, Adebayor
Subs: Speroni, Kelly, Mutch, Sako, Puncheon, Campbell, Gayle
Leicester City
XI: Schmeichel, Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs, Mahrez, Kanté, Drinkwater, Albrighton, Okazaki, Vardy
Subs: Schwarzer, Amartey, Schlupp, Gray, Ulloa, Wasilewski, Inler
OH!!! Mahrez should have given the Foxes the lead. Okazaki made a great run down the left and his cross deflected off of Jedinak , but Mahrez mistimed his jump in the six yard box.
Of course, it's all eyes on the Yorkshire Derby between Leeds and Hudders at the Cottage.
Cheers , mate. I have a strong pot brewing after that late night.
I'll be cheering for the West Yorkshire side in that one.
Goal! Bristol City 1-0 Bolton (Wilbrahim 4)
Oh Bolton! They’re doomed aren’t they? There’ll be some colourful language from Reidy at half-time.
Thank you, mate - I've got my new lucky Leeds shirt on today.
Derby County defeated Forest 1-0 in an E Midlands Derby.
Good win for the Rams there.
Bristol City have taken the lead vs doomed Bolton, who had Neil Lennon walk the plank this week while JFH's lads take the lead at Evil Ridsdale's house.
Bristol Shitty are 0-2 down Bolton. It appears that they've already raised the white flag at Ashton Gate.
A surprise in L2 as struggling Stevenage take the lead vs runaway leaders, Northants
Sorry mate , but it's doomed Bolton waving the white flag as they trail Bristol Shitty 2-0 . Even Sarah knows that
GOAL !!! THE HAMMERS TAKE THE LEAD AT SB
West Ham have made a decent start against Chelsea. They look confident.
Sorry, I read that one wrong.
That's not a good goal from United's perspective.
OH!!!!! Mahrez should have given the Foxes the lead on the break as he was superbly, put through by Drinkwater , but failed to beat Hennessey one on one
How was your week, mate? You were on break, right?
The Potters take the lead at the Hornets. Walters with the goal
The Foxes win consecutive corners as they pile on the pressure.
Yes. I was. It's been a great and peaceful Spring Break. Than ks for asking. How was your week?
Walters has given Stoke a 0-1 lead at Watford, firing home at the back stick.
Back to the Hammers goal , which was route one. A long clearance by Adrian was headed on by Valencia then Sakho , then Lanzini with a long range swerver that landed in the roof of the net.
Really good week and now we're in to Spring Break week with lots of projects lined up.
A combo of Courtois and Cahill concede a corner off a Hammers through ball
I hope you and Kate have a good Spring Break. We have a four day work week with Easter around the corner.
Cambridge have taken the lead vs Yeovil
Do you get Monday week off? Or Friday?
Kenedey has a shot that is about three feet over . He tried that same shot from the same spot that Lanzini did for the Hammers goal
Better from Palace there but I don't think Ade is an effective striker at this point.
I'm off for Good Friday, which it will be since I'm off.
WAY HAY Leeds take the lead in the West Yorkire Derby
What’s happening at The Hawthorns you ask? West Brom are bossing the game and Norwich are treating the ball carelessly when they do fleetingly see it.
Zaha fluffs his lines in the six yard box after a great run and cross from Balssie
Stuart Dallas scored with a header of a cross from Liam Bridcutt.
YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
Stuart Dallas with the goal for the Whites!
Bloassie heads well wide off a cross from Joe ward as Palace start to pile on the pressure.
Great scouting job at the Hawthorns as the Canaries will likely be your opponents at ER next season
GOAL! Mahrez fires Leicester into the lead - the dream continues!
GOAL !!!! TYPICAL FOXES AS THEY WERE UNDER THE COSH, BUT THEN SECONDS LATER SCORE AS VARDY SUPERBLY ASSISTED ON A CLOSE RANGE EFFORT FROM MAHREZ.
Drink water found Vardy out wide with a great pass and Vardy just whipped it in with a prayer. Mahrez hit is true.
0-1 Foxes!
Mahrez is now level with Sergio Aguero on 16 goals.
A cross from mAhrez was headed out and Drinkwater found Vardy down the left and he did well to find Mahrez , who easily tucked away a close range effort.
Kasper did well to save a deflected effort from Bolassie off a nice solo run then the Foxes break off a corner from Cabaye , but the final ball is off.
Inverness Callie two up at Ross Dress for Less in a Highland Derby. The Cup holders lead at the League Cup holders.
Great save by Hennessey from Albrighton.
Oh - Albrighton nearly added a second - good save!
Kenedy goes off for Chelsea looking concussed. Matic warming up.
Souare is deservedly booked for fouling Vardy on the break after Vardy picked his pocket. Palace are starting to show signs of frustration.
If the Foxes go two up then I don't see a way back for Palace.
Rotherham take the lead at Portman Road while the Reading Railroad takes the lead vs Evil Cardiff.
A minute of stoppage time from Selhurst Park and three from SB
The Foxes are deserved leaders in this ,match, IMHO.
And there's the half-time whistle. Claudio and co go in 0-1 up and smiling.
It's halftime from Selhurst as the Foxes are one up.. Now off to SB
Over the Bridge to see Winston Reid pick up a yellow.
Winnie Reid booked for a cynical block on Oscar
The home has yet to score in the Prem this weekend.
And NBC Sports are rewarded with a sumptuous strike by Fabregas!
1-1!
goal !!! Fab scores for the home team as he bent it like Beckham past compatriot, Adrian and it's now 1-1 at the half./
Just wide by Okozaki as the Foxes try to go two up. Then Bo,lassie showing Palace's frustration as he's called for a foul on Wes Morgan
Mahrez curls a long range effort wide
I'm back after lunch for the second half. Can Leicester hang on to this slender lead. Can my Whites?
Alan Pardew as expected mage a double substitution at the half . Bakary Sako came on for Ade , which is like for like and Martin Kelly came on for what I think was Souare, who had a mare and was on a yellow.
I just finished brekkies. Are we that many hours behind you ?
Bolassie wins a free kick off of Kante. That looked really soft, IMHO.
Kapser easily fists away the free kick from Cabaye
The Potters go two up at VR while the Canaries take a surprise lead at the Hawthorns
Robbie Brady with the goal for the Canaries.
Inverness Callie three up at Ross Dress for Less in the Highland Derby
Celtic grinded out a 0-1 win at Killie and the Dons are doing the same at Well at the moment.
OH!!! Okozaki heads just wide off a long throw as he crept behind big Scott Dann.
Bolassie wins a corner off of Huth
I suppose we are on different schedules today, mate.
A great cross from the left from Sako and Cabaye completely misses it.
That Brady goal is a real life line for the Canaries. With the Tyne-Wear Derby coming up tomorrow, this is a crucial result.
I think that late night Adventure has thrown me off, LOL.
It is derby weekend as we head into the international break.
We're having satellite problems here; how about you?
3-0 Bristol City now - the Trotters are doomed.
Fortunately, everything is fine here. I hope the problems cease in WNY.
Neil Lennon walked the plank in midweek. I wonder why???
Not sure why.
Rochdale are three up at Oldham on derby weekend while Colchester have a shock lead at Walsall.
High flying Burton Albion are in the lead at Port Vale in a semi derby
Still goalless between the Evil Lions and Evil Blades. A derby of pure evil.
Cambridge are two up vs Yeovil
GOAL !!! THE HAMMERS GO 1-2 UP AT THE BRUDGE
Indeed - I'd like the ground to just open up and swallow the lot of them.
A crunching tackle by the Coyote on Oscar found Lanzini, who passed to Payet and his superb through ball found Andy Carroll, who superbly scored with a left footed finish past Coutois
Caroll has only just come on at the Bridge and he's done it again!
Payet slips the ball behind Ivanovic and Carroll runs on to it and slots it in the bottom left corner!
1-2 Hammers!
The Coyote is booked for afoul on Traore then Chelsea wanted a penalty on Reid for hand ball. Never going to happen as it was a great block
Northants have come from behind to lead 1-2 at Stevenage while Pompey are tied 1-1 at Jayne Mansfield's house. Luton lead at Argyle.
Burton Albion four up at Port vale. Beware, mate. They may be tough nut to crack in the Championship.
Not a Big Club take the lead vs struggling Charlton.
Boo!
Another great cross from Sako and another miss timed attempt from Cabaye.
Joselu with the second Stoke goal at VR
Bugger - I've just noticed that Hudders are level with us.
The latest from the Foxes is that Danny Drinkwater has been named to the England squad and Kante to the French squad. I presume Woy is thirsty for success.
Fuchs fouls Zaha. Her should have been booked.
Kapser does well to gather a bouncing effort from Sako
Sorry mate.
COME ON YOU WHITES!
Leo Ulloa is on for Okozaki
Not a Bug Club go two up vs Charlton and Evil Cardiff tie it up at Reading
BUGGER !!! HUDDERS NOW LEAD 1-2.
COME ON DESMOND
A good substitute to have in reserve. I believe he was Foxes' top scorer last season.
The Seagulls take the lead at the Fake Dons
Harry Bunn with the goal. I could crack a joke about that, but you are probably not interested at this point in time.
The final roll of the dice for Alana Pardew as local boy, Dwight Gayle , is on for Joe Ledley
Burnley take the lead vs Wolves
Mahrez wins a corner off of Delaney from a pass from Vardy
That's alright, mate. Your puns always bring a smile.
Wes Morgan with a foul on the break after Fuchs had a shot blocked.
Thanks mate. I was just wondering if Harry Bunn has a man bun or the Bob look?
I was hoping to see us reach mathematical safety today; perhaps not.
OH!!!! what a save by Courtois from a deflected header by Andy Carroll as he got up highest in a crowd of players
I'd imagine that man buns are frowned upon at Hudders.
There's still a chance for the whites.
A series of Palace corners as they pile on the pressure , then a long range effort from Cabaye is off of Huth for a corner.Morgan heads out for another.
Leicester trying to hang on to this lead over the next few minutes.
The fifth in a row is waste and the Foxes can get a breather.
YIKES!!! the Whites are imploding as Hudders are 1-4 up. sorry mate
Schlupp is on for Mahrez as the Fake Dons tie it up vs the Seagulls.
Good news for Celtic as Well tie it up vs the Dons
OH!!! A superb last ditch tackle by Delaney on Vardy that prevents the Foxes going two up.
Rochdale were three up at Oldham, but now cling on to a 2-3 lead.
Troy Deeney pulls one back for the Hornets , who trail the Potters 1-2.
albrighton wins a corner off of Delaney and take it short
Dear oh dear - not going to happen today. Yikes!
Three minutes of stoppage time as Schlupp fouls Zaha on the break and Amanti is on for Vardy
Into three minutes of stoppage time.
The Foxes concede a corner frantically off the free kick
Oh - off the bar from Delaney! How close was that?
OH!!! Dann heads on the corner and Delaney volleys off the top of the bar.
GOAL !!! DESMOND AT THE BRIDGE.
Cesc Fabregas has scored from the penalty spot to usher in Desmond Tutu at the Bridge.
Bristol City five up vs Bolton
Schlupp wins a corner for the Foxes on the break as there are five minutes of stoppage time at the Bridge
Norwich are closing in on their first win since the late 60s.
That's it - Leicester have won again! They have an eight goal lead at the top with only seven games to go.
It's over and the Foxes win 0-1 at Selhurst Park as they maintain their lead at the top heading into the international break
Over to the Bridge to see if West Ham can break the deadlock with this Payet free kick.
Off to SB as Bristol City are half a dozen up vs Bolton and Blackburn take the lead at Peter Griffin Park
Courtois did well to grab that free kick - that was going in.
Walsall tie it up vs Colchester
Reid fouls again and he is trying to stay on the pitch now.
Loftus Cheek turns and shoots just wide!
winnie Reid fouls Pedro and the Cheek is wide as he makes a 180 degree turn. Reid needs to be careful as he's already been booked.
Time's up but we play on.
Ridsdale's Evil team ties it up late vs JFH's lads.
What's taking the ref so bloody long?
It's over and it finishes Desmond at SB.
So, in the end, a great result for United, as they now have the time to leapfrog them with a solid win.
The late one is the Swans vs Villa. The Swans are about two wins from safety and can make it one with a win vs all but doomed Villa.
I'm going to skip the late one, mate. I'll be back tomorrow morning. Cheerio for now!
Cheers mate. It was great chatting. Enjoy the rest of the day and see you tomorrow on Derby Sunday
The penalty was from a through ball from Willian that found Cheek , who was pulled down in the box by Antonio and Fab scored from the spot to add to the goal he scored from a free kick
