An Average Soccer Sunday
It's the typical Sunday double header starting with Middlesbrough vs Watford , followed by the Saints vs Burnley. These are not exactly marquee matches, but we can see how two of the newly promoted teams perform.

A training ground is an absolute disaster as Downing plays it short to Gaston, who cheaply concedes possession, wasting that opportunity

I suppose the commentators are right that it's these matches that really mean something to these teams. Yet, it's uninspiring stuff so far. No chances at either end in the opening quarter of an hour. A lot of industry for little output.
They're both competitive sides, sure. It just shows the gulf of quality between the Championship and Premiership.
A bit of a surprise as Not a Big Club lead 0-1 at the Terriers in second half stoppage time.

Peter Drury mentions that Troy Deeney has scored against the Teesiders and Leeds more than any other club. I'm sure you will be telling Peter Drury to shut it.

You suspect that Watford are going to give the ball to Success and get him to run at Barragan at every opportunity now.
Stuani goes down clutching his face after a tussle with Holebas. He’s made rather a lot of that. it's kicking off a bit now.
I'm not sure, but Aidar Karranka would do well to substitute him at the half.
It was a foul, but that was probably why he wasn't awarded the free kick.

Definitely mediocre - that was my worry when I saw the fixture. 0-0 at the half.
I've just woken up from a quick nap on the magical couch and am ready for more dross in the second now.
The second half is underway and like Fred's litter box, was full of crap.
Barragan, the greatest liability on the pitch , was not replaced.
De Roon, like our Roon, is useless in the final third.
Boro hit the ground running in the second half. Negredo was nearly in there but Amarabat was able to recover.

Success was unsuccessful in winning a penalty after running past the weak Barragan and into Adam Forshaw, trying to win a penalty. The ball broke to Cholevas, who shot a screamer into the upper 90 past the diving Victor Valdes.
I think that was their first shot on target this match
Now what will Boro do in response?
I'm almost sure that you're right, mate. The only other shot I can remember was Stuart Downing's effort in the first half.
Boro have yet to win at home this season.It seems like a long season ahead for the Teesiders.

Roger East puts us out of our misery as the Hornets win 0-1 thanks to a professional rather than spectacular performance. Well, that's two hours we won't get back.
That's it - the one moment of brilliance from Holebas has won this one.
Not sure what Holebas and Capoue are going on about now.
Agreed. I would say so. Hopefully, the next match will be better as the Saints should have enough quality to insure that.
